4-0 out of 5 stars tv remote control interference? please....
the guy who says "when it interacts with other wireless producs like remote controls for the television. It sometimes gets caught up when somebody changes the channel toward a similar beam of radio waves" is either dumb or pulling some legs... remote controls for tv's use INFRARED which requires line of sight while the wavebird uses RADIO FREQUENCIES, which do not. there is no way IR and RF can influence each other. he probably ran low on batteries...

5-0 out of 5 stars Very good
I am a hardcore gamer. I have had many systems, and gamecube is my favorite. But I have tried wireless controllers for Sega Saturn, Playstation, and Playstation 2. None work as well as the Wavebird for Gamecube.

Durability- 10/10 The durability of this thing is awesome. I have extremely large dogs (an English Mastiff and a Chocolate Lab) and they have stepped on, slobbered on, and knocked this thing off of a four foot table, but this thing works fine!!! It has taken quite a beating.

Precision- 10/10 The precision is just as good as a first party controller. Since the Wavebird is from Nintendo, I'm not suprised. I have bought (along with the Wavebird) Resident Evil 4, where bad aim is your downfall. The controller hasn't failed me yet.

Battery Life- 10/10 This pad lasts 100 hours on a single charge (2 AA batteries included). To preserve battery life, Nintendo took the Rumble feature off. You won't notice it's gone, and if you do, you need a more exciting game.

Price- 7/10 The controller is THIRTY dollars. That's expensive. I bought this thing new at a local GameXchange, and I was suprised by how much it cost. But if you have large dogs or small children in your house, then it is worth it.

This controller is excellent, and Nintendo made it well. But if you don't live in an enviroment where spending $30 for a wireless controller makes life easier, I recommend buying an extension cable.

5-0 out of 5 stars THE BEST CONTROLLER EVER!!
This Controller is the greatest thing ever invented. The product says that you can use it 20 feet away but when I tried it, I could move it from the other side of the house. This thing is awesome. I worship it. (In a healthy way) If you don't have one already, drop whatever you're doing and buy one. You won't regret it. THANK YOU SO MUCH NINTENDO. GO WAVEBIRD!!

1-0 out of 5 stars Are you joking?
Are you kidding me? First off, if you're playing gamecube you should be sitting in a CHAIR IN FRONT OF YOUR TV. If you are somewhere else, you prolly should be taking a break from frying your brain.
Wavebird...what kind of a STUPID name is Wavebird? Give me a chill pill, because I think I'm reading things wrong. Nintendo wouldn't go low enough as to name a controller "Wavebird"!
I mean it looks ridiculous! That thing is huge! You have to be stupid to buy something like that! My big, grey, classic gameboy is cooler than that thing. It also costs more than a standard controller, not to mention you have to buy BATTERIES for it!!
Come on, the GameCube controller has a wire as long as a fruitloop. It's not like you're going to be playing while you make dinner anyway...
Nintendo was basically telling you to give them their money when they put this on the market. Costs more, looks ridiculous, takes batteries, and is completely unnecessary, you hear me? U-n-n-e-c-e-s-s-a-r-y. [...]

Good day to you, readers, and I wish you the best of health...

Health? Gamecube? Those things don't fit together for some reason....

Bottom Line, CONSIDER what you are considering. It might blow up your gamecube when you plug it in.

    I'm not 13 either...but I wouldn't have you think that I was my mom...

Bottom Line #2, If you have a moderate amount of intelligence, you will NOT purchase this block.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Controller
This is slightly bigger than the regular controllers but it's not a big deal.We use a big screen and play about 10-15 feet away from the TV.The wirless is so great because you don't have to move the GameCube from the shelf and mess with all the cords. There is no lag in response time either.Such a great controlller. We tried to see how far away we could be when the GameCube would stop receiveing signal. We got to the opposite side of the house and it was still working.Ha!! ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Because you don't want to make your friends sick
When I first went shopping for a second controller for my GameCube, I admit I was looking for one that matched my Platinum Edition controller. I couldn't find one that wasn't a Wavebird (nothing wrong with a Wavebird - the wireless controller - that I know of, but I was just too cheap to spend the extra $10). So I bought a black controller to match my TV. Now that I think about it, buying a different controller was a smart thing to do. Why didn't I plan on that in the first place? I spent part of the winter battling a cold or the flu at various times, and I can't underestimate the importance of controlling the spread of viruses and bacteria. Having different-colored controllers makes it easier to remember which controller I've been using in between nose-blowing sessions. When a housemate or friend wants to play GameCube as I lay suffering on the other couch, I am able to croak out the words "use the black one today. Trust me."

I also have a phobia against third-party hardware - so it's good of Nintendo (not to mention profitable for Nintendo) to sell spare parts.

The most important things about a controller are: does it fit comfortably in your hand, and are the buttons easy to find and use? The only thing I don't like is the placement of the Z button. The cord is plenty long, and the buttons are responsive enough. I also like that they're color-coded.

5-0 out of 5 stars original will always work the best
This is a great controller, and it rumbles (unlike the wireless one).Yeah, it WILL wear down with time, but it is by far one of the better controllers because it doesn't ruin your GameCube and it's more durable that third-party ones (AKA those NOT liscenced by Nintendo).I first had a third-party GCN controller and for some reason, it stopped my GameCube from reading discs. I had to get it repaired. If anything, if you want a good controller, don't go for third party stuff.Go for the original like this, as for one: they last MUCH longer and two, they don't ruin your hardware. It may look plain, but it would be better to have a plain working controller rather than a quickly defective pretty one. Also, the official wireless if good, if you don't mind the lack of a rumble.

5-0 out of 5 stars misunderstood
This controller is great. Nice feel and all. But, it does tend to move to one side on its own. Many people think it is the controller, but if you read in the manual, it clearly states that when the gamecube is turned on with the joystick to one side, that will be the base for the controller. This can be fixed by simultaneously holding Y+X+START. Great controller, for an easy 5 stars!

5-0 out of 5 stars Quality
Why mess with the original. There are a lot of phonies and copycat controllers that you can get for a discount. You get what you pay for.I have several of the standard ones like this and they are quality. In addition the controls for the Gamecube are similar enough to other Nintendo products so you won't have to learn a completely new system.

5-0 out of 5 stars black controller
this controller is so cool i have this one 2 blues and a wavebird i like this item alot i think you would too. ... Read more

    Amazon.com Review

Though it looks like a toy, don't be fooled: the Nintendo GameCube is a powerful video game console that rightly deserves its place among the other next-generation game systems. In fact, its playful, appealing design and small size (the unit is a not-quite-cubed 6 inches) aren't the only features that set it apart from the others.

For starters, Nintendo has quite clearly made this a game-only machine. It doesn't try to play your CD collection, run your movies, read your e-mail, or store your MP3 files. The company has concentrated its efforts on games. All the prelaunch titles we've seen play smoothly, with bright, fast graphics and great sound. Nintendo says its engineers have removed traditional bottlenecks that have, in the past, slowed down processing. New components designed by IBM and MoSys, as well as a large-capacity secondary memory cache, keep instructions moving through the system's microprocessor (MPU) at peak levels. In English: the GameCube is optimized to push speed up while pushing costs down; hence its position at the lower end of the price spectrum.

The GameCube is the first Nintendo video game system to use a disc-based medium rather than cartridges for its games. Moving the software to disc media generally means lower development costs for the publishers, which, in turn, trickles down to the consumer not only in price, but also in availability and quality, as it's then easier to try out untested game ideas (Pikmin, anyone?). While most other systems likewise have their games stored on discs, the GameCube's 3-inch format is smaller than everyone else's, and is so designed to fit in a shirt pocket as much as to deter would-be software pirates.

Of course, the main advantage of the GameCube is that it's the home field of one of the world's premier game designers: Nintendo. While powerhouses Electronic Arts and Sega make games for all systems (including this one), you can play Nintendo games only on a Nintendo system. And Nintendo, you might recall, has been hitting them out of the park since it started with Donkey Kong. In fact, here's a roll call of characters and series you won't find on the other consoles: Mario, Legend of Zelda, Perfect Dark, Metroid, Kirby, and, of course, Pokémon. A few names that the GameCube will share with the other guys: Madden, Tony Hawk, Sonic, Batman, and Star Wars.

The system also comes with four built-in controller ports, so you can easily plug in extra controllers and let friends join in for the multiplayer games--it's even got a built-in handle so you can easily move it to a friend's house. It comes with two memory card slots for saving your progress through games, and there's the capacity for future expansion into the world of online gaming.

In short, the GameCube isn't an all-in-one entertainment system, and neither is it the most powerful of the modern video game consoles. But for video game enthusiasts who want to stick with their favorite characters, its value cannot be beat. --Porter B. Hall

5-0 out of 5 stars You are right and wrong 1 star folks
Okay,I agree with you, this system is sort of childish. But the what you call "childish games" are suppose to be fun for adults. Let me give you some examples.

Mario Kart: Double Dash!!: My mom loves this game!

Super Monkey Ball: Fun for all ages (and adults)

There's millions and millions of examples, too much.

Now that I've told you why you are wrong, let me tell why you are right. Okay,I goota admit, there is didly squat of rated M games, and Rated T games are like rated E. Overall, this system is great. I'd reccomend it. If you have have some extra cashola, buy the best system of the year,DS. Make sure to get SM64 DS as well.

P.S X-Box and PS2 sulks,I like Play Station better then the newies.

5-0 out of 5 stars the affordable gamecube
Today I finally purchased a gamecube from a local retailer on sale for just 97$ w/ a free game, Metroid Prime 2(50$ game currently). I figured I then only paid 47$ for the system itself adding in the bundle. (I really wanted the metroid 2 echoes game too) I chose the metallic "platinum" color over the ugly plain jane black one. For me nintendo has far too many kiddie games and just a couple I'd be interested in, but my wife and kid like all the kiddie stuff and I already own an XBOX & PS2 that have more games for the teen/adult gamer. The 3 systems will entertain our family until the hype ends over the upcoming "next-gen" systems (Revolution, 360, & PS3)and they have price drops into 100-150$ each and have 20$ games available as well. If you get a gamecube I'd suggest adding the 1019 memory card for it(30$) and also an S-Video cable from monster cable. I really like the compact size of the gamecube, but I don't really care for the akward styling of it's controller very much, the N64's controller was pretty weird too w/ it's "3rd leg". It's also nice to see nintendo finally using discs instead of old-school cartridges. I was considering a Nintendo DS, but I couldn't justify spending more for a portable system w/ less powerful graphics than a highly rated home console like the gamecube. Maybe the DS will have a price drop down to what the advantage costs now(80$). The PSP is way too overpriced for me to even consider it and it's weak battery life and fragile LCD are major drawbacks to me. Anyways I'm happy w/ my decision, the gamecube is a quality system and you can get a system and games cheap now.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best system
This is the best system currently out. It has all the classics and is more fun than the other systems.

5-0 out of 5 stars Highly recommended.
Any fan of the Nintendo 64 needs this console to add more depth and knowlegde to their already large collection of games. I highly recommended a Gamecube for any fan. And soon the Gamecube Revolution will be released making another ultimate console due out in the future.

1-0 out of 5 stars listen up, fanboys...
all you nintendo fanboys are cramping up the xbox reviews. thats our turf! :p but anyway, you say "oh, the crapbox (wow thats clever) is so bad, all the games are just rippoffs, and they're all for pc, and the controller is huge, and this and that and whatever" well, gamecube stinks even worse. i mean, what games do you have for it? animal crossing? pokemon staduim? please. what's that? there are 'mature' games for it? resident evil series, thats it. name ONE 1st party nintendo game that's rated M. you can't. conker doesnt count, he's from rare. or perfect dark, thats rare too. and rare went over to microsoft anyway when they saw how bad gamecube was doing. even the system itself looks like a Playschool product. who makes a purple console? and to the one who said 'xbox players are losers and loners with no friends', that's gamecube's territory. i'm not gonna call the guys over to play a heart-pounding game of butterfly catching on animal crossing. oh, and nintendo STILL HASN'T GONE ONLINE. xbox live is the greatest online gaming service around. and the xbox controller has gotten progressively smaller as time has gone by. and 3rd parties make controllers that are even smaller than gamecube's. so lets see, if i want Billy Hatcher's Giant Egg i'll get gamecube. if i want GTA AND Halo 2 AND just about every other game you could want, i'll get xbox. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Very pleased with the overall quality of this HDTV selector
Wow! Stumbled across this Pelican product at a local computer store.I had looked around recently for component video switchers, but had no idea this Pro System Selector existed. For $79 I had no hesitation buying immediately and bringing home knowing the store had a good return policy.Hooked it up in 20 minutes to a Pioneer 50" plasma screen with the following video inputs: 1) HD DirecTV 2) Progressive scan universal DVD player 3) REPLAY DVR with progressive component out 4) X-Box HD 5) Playstation 2 6)Nintendo 64 7) S-video Camcorder.

I couldn't be more pleased with the quick switch ability.I have tested with several Superbit DVDs before and after installation and see no visable loss in quality. Will be recommending to my friends.

5-0 out of 5 stars Very pleased with this product
I recently purchased the Pelican pro system selector with mini remote and am very pleased with the way it operates everything. The main reason I made the purchase (while more expensive than other switch boxes it's very much worth the extra cost)as it adds an extra 8 inputs component composite and S-video and optical inputs (3) and broadband connetors (3)..I decided to get this as I wanted more component inputs as my HDTV only has 2 as I have heard most do only come with 2 depending on the model of the tv. Installion was VERY easy no hassle I hooked up my dvd player(s) laser disc player and Xbox so far no problem with anything thats been hooked up to it.The remote comes in very handy when you want to switch machines. It does come with additional name plates (which are easy to change) but there are not enough labels for dvd or a label for misc. When the system is turned on after switching the power on the indivdual name plate will light up green.A great purchase if you want to add inputs and want to lessen the clutter than normally comes with a tv when the back inputs are filled to capacity.I think this product by pelican is worth every penny that you pay.

5-0 out of 5 stars The system selector pro is awesome!
I just recently received my Pelican system selector pro in the mail.It came with 8 component inputs, a remote control andthe other stuff like composite, s-video and ethernet jacks.I was surprised that it came with 8 component inputs and a remote because I haven't heard of anyone else getting that with their pro.I got my PL-960 pro from a different website called x10 brand new for a total of 81.99 plus the shipping and handling.I was originally expecting only three component inputs but, it came with 8.Before I got it, I had to decide which console I was not going to use to often for regular composite. You know how it goes when you are use to hd and then go back to composite. The remote that it comes with can turn it on and also change the console you want to use instead of having to get up and press the button.I'm glad I waited before buying one of these. It looks exactly the same as the other PL-960, its just that it has more functions.

3-0 out of 5 stars Great device while it worked
I could not have been more impressed with this product. Having far too many devices for my receiver, it was just what I needed, not to mention it had ethernet connectivity to. By far the most impressive features of this device are the facts that it not only has HDTV inputs, but normal analog ones - allowing me to upgrade to an HDTV at a later point and not have a large paperweight. The optical audio output is also a must.
The only thing I wished they'd included to really make this product better would be a remote to switch devices.

I bought this device approximately a year ago, and it operated fine, until the other day. At first it would not switch device, however the input it was stuck on (the first) worked fine. Within a few hours though it had completely died, and was no longer outputting a signal.

However, the device comes with a standard manufacturer warranty of FIVE years. During this time, it can be repaired or replaced for $4 of return shipping. So even if you end up like me with a faulty product, you can still get it replaced, so long as you keep your receipt.

5-0 out of 5 stars High Quality Switchbox
I had my reservations at first about entrusting my optical and component video signals to a switchbox from one of the companies generally known for cheap (and not necessarily high quality) 3rd party gaming hardware.

I had first looked to buy a receiver but most didn't have nearly as many component video and optical inputs as this switchbox. As such, I ended up opting for the switchbox and sending the optical out to my audigy 2 patch bay for dolby 5.1 decoding. This switchbox turned out to be exactly what i needed and i've been extremely pleased with its performance and the value i got for the price.

I have a dvd player, gamecube, and x-box hooked up via component video (progressive scan), optical out of the x-box and dvd, rca out of the cube. Also have an n64, sfc, and a vcr hooked up via s-video and rca. I am using mid-range monster cables and I saw no degradation of quality while using this switchbox. I am also using the unit as an ethernet cable switch between the gamecube and the x-box (coming from my router).

All in all the unit looks very sleek, it comes with many inserts for labeling your channels and they glow green when selected, and it has an input in the front as well for quick hookup of a friend's game system or a camcorder, etc..

If a switchbox is what you need don't be afraid to buy this unit, it comes with quality cables and is well worth the money for its performance. Very handy for gamers with a lot of systems but a tv without a billion inputs. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Not Enough Memory
I have gone through two memory cards on the Gamecube in less than 4 years. The first was the memory 59, which was ridiculous, I managed to save 6 games on that one.Now the Memory 251, which I'll admit is an improvement as it is 4 times bigger. But in terms of megabytes, it's only TWO versus the Sony's industry standard of EIGHT.Nintendo's card is 4 times smaller! On the Memory 251, I have saved 3 EA Sports games.Which may sound good, but it's NOT.I've only managed to save the essential files to play the game.If I were to save all the files, I would only be able to fit one.I've also managed to save 5 other games. But now my memory card is full, and I don't want to purchase new games and a new card because of this.

Nintendo has released the Memory 1019, which is equivalent to Sony's 8MB card. But Gamecube's life cycle is near it's end.Nintendo, another case of doing too little too late.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great!
My son loves having this memory card. It is a great value and makes playing his video games more rewarding because he can save all of his hard work. He is only allowed to play his games on the weekend and he always enjoys being able to return to the spot he stopped.

5-0 out of 5 stars Never buy anything other than Nintendo Brand...
My family bought one of the "mondo" block cards that supposedly allowed over 1000 blocks of memory to be stored for much cheaper than this 251 block version. Well, the only trouble was it kept saying it was corrupt, that it needed to be formatted, and that all of my data would be erased. Finally we gave in and went and bought one of these cards, and we have had no trouble at all.
I guess it really is true that you get what you pay for!

5-0 out of 5 stars Good Card Built very strong
Well im 13 and i got this memory card 2 years ago and its finally full thats two years of memory and that is because i put animal crossing on it it rocks its perfect if u play and buy alot of games like me ^_^

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Product!
Bought this for my 6 year old gaming/tv freak, very sturdy construction with no worries of tipping the 27 inch tv. Currently we have a DVD/VCR combo on the second shelf and a GameCube on the bottom. The only problem we have had is the spacing slats that hold the DVD's in place don't hold them tightly enough and they sometimes fall off of the stand. Easy to put together and even easier to keep clean.

5-0 out of 5 stars way way better than the first 2!
this video game center is way better than the first 2 video centers from step2, this one fits all my ps2 and gamecube games perfectly and neat, the other two are more old fashioned and don't fit ps2, gamcube, and dvds like this one does.this game center is real strong the other 2 are'nt. my 27 inch tv fits good and looks nice on the game center. and the other bad thing bout the other two video game centers is you can only fit 19 inch or smaller tvs on them and if your a real gamer you would want a bigger tv cause your games look alot better. ... Amazon.com Product Description

The GameCube Broadband Adapter allows for high-speed connection through a DSL or cable modem and is purely designed for online gaming--it doesn't support regular Internet access or Web browsing. The adapter is easily installed, simply snapping into serial port 1 on the underside of the console. The Broadband Adapter can also theoretically be used for linking two or more GameCube systems together, allowing for network gaming without the need for online access.

To use the Broadband Adapter you'll need a 10 megabit (10Base-T) or 100 megabit (100Base-TX) network cable, a broadband connection device such as a cable modem or DSL adapter with an available Ethernet port, and a valid account with a Broadband Internet Service Provider. Please be aware that some service providers, eg. AOL, do not allow outside software to access their services without the use of a special login tool. Please contact your service provider if you're not sure whether or not they allow this. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Don't waste your money...
Listen fanboys, there are... what... 5 games that support the BBA adaptor... only one of which is internet based? Don't waste your money... the only reason you'd want to buy this is to upload homebrew with the Fantasy Star exploit... but even then... this adaptor is only 10mbit so it would take a large amount of time to upload any sort large applications... play on PS2 online or Xbox Connect...

5-0 out of 5 stars Broadband ROCKS!! MK: DD DOES WORK EVERYONE
The BBA is incredible!!! I don't have PSO but I've used Mario Kart with Warp Pipe (http://www.warppipe.com) and it rocks the house!! I just snap in the adapter, use a crossover cable to connect it to my wireless computer, then go!! I admit PS2 Network Adapter is easier to set up, simply connect it to a router and go, but Warp Pipe and the BBA have the skills to math that!! Okay, so it can't surf the internet, but it's a pure GAMES CONSOLE (which is also why it's faster than the PS2 by 100MHz) You MUST buy this if you have a gamecube!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Some of You are Crazy
The Broadband Adapter for the Nintendo Gamecube is what we've all been waiting for. XBox and PS2 are both way ahead of Gamecube in the technology race, so this adapter that adds an ethernet port to the side of your 'Cube is a must-have. The adapter fits nicely into Seriel Port 1 on your Gamecube console. Now, regarding my title...

I've seen quite a few reviews stating that this adapter does not work with Mario Kart: Double Dash!! and that it said so in the instuction pamphlet. Mark my words: this is a complete lie! Right on the back of the Mario Kart box is the logo stating that it's Broadband Compatible. I don't know why those reviewers chose to say that nonsense. Using Warp Pipe (www.warppipe.com), this game works almost flawlessly with the adapter.

Some other games that you can use online and with Warp Pipe are:
    1080: Avalanche
    Kirby: Air Ride
    Phantasy Star Online: Episodes I&II
    Phantasy Star Online: Episode III

If you have a home network and a computer, this is an excellent upgrade for your Gamecube. Trust me.

1-0 out of 5 stars Wait, Nintendo doesn't have online play? or does it?
Corny title. But I will keep this short and sweet, I will buy the GCBA a.s.a I get any LAN possable games. Oh, and the 1 star is only b/c I haven't reviewed it yet. But as many peeps know Warppipe is software used to connect LAN games only with your IP and router. I can even say this, If you use a wireless router (like me), you can't play it like that. You need to use the main router in your house. Oh, and those who say that WP is crap, this is only the bata version and not the offical version, ok. Oh yeah, there is another online game comming out. You can look it up on walmart or here.

5-0 out of 5 stars It can be used with other games!
Go to http://www.warppipe.com/ . With Warp Pipe, you can use this very broadband adapter to play Kirby Air Ride, Mario Kart: Double Dash!, and 1080°: Avalanche with people all around the world! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Essential
For any Gamecube gamer this memory card is essential. I do not understand why Nintendo waited so long to create a bigger memory card than the 59, which is all but useless now.

A must buy for any serious gamer.

4-0 out of 5 stars Yes!
If you have another, sell it and buy this (Unless, of course, you have the 1019). I have the 59, and it fills up way too fast. Third-party companies DO NOT completely understand how memory is stored, so it will get corrupted. Buy this.

3-0 out of 5 stars stupid

    of memory.

2-0 out of 5 stars Only251 blocks BOOOO!!!!!!
Why Get this one when you can get one from Mad Catz that has 1019 blocks

5-0 out of 5 stars You Cannot Go Wrong with Quality or Price
Sometimes going the 3rd party route for game accessories is an okay deal. However, when choosing a memory card that'll save the data you worked hard for, the Memory Card should be chosen well.

    Comparison to 3rd Party:
Many times, 3rd party brand memory cards promise much space. For the price, they hold a large amount of game files.Sadly, many times people lose their data.Either they are corrupted, it refuses to recognize the card or it keeps asking to reformat the card. The errors are more consistant, and so far I have never once had a problem with losing my data on the official Gamecube Memory Card by Nintendo.Buy 3rd Party Memory Cards at your own risk.

Comparing less memory versus 251 slots:
If you are on a tight budget, (as many gamers are) buying the official Nintendo Memory Card of 59 slots may seem the best way to go.Sure you get 59 slots, and you feel as if it'll last long enough, but it never seems to.Sure the 59 slot memory card is roughly $5.00 less, but you are getting significanly less space. The 251 memory card has 4x the space of the 59 space one.
    Let's do the Math:
    251 slots for around: $20
    59 slots for around: $15

Buying the 59 slot Memory Card 4 Times Gives you This:
    236 Slots for around $60
    ----
Overall, buy the official Nintendo Memory Card with 251 slots and you will not only get quality but save money in the long run. ... Read more

    5-0 out of 5 stars A gamer's must
I used the non-electronic Game-dr. for a year and had to buy the electronic one. If your a gamer and want to resurface your old scatched cds I highly recommend it. Most of the pople who gave this bad reviews probably resurfaced it too much or didnt buy a new resurfacing disk. All my games and Cds that didnt work work excellent now.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Real Deal
I did a lot of research on this product before deciding to purchase it, but with all the negative reviews posted i was real hesitant.I finally decided to throw caution to the wind and buy it.I needed something to repair my X-Box games that were deeply scratched and would not even boot up.After getting the game doctor i choose a game that i did not cared about loseing.I followed the directions to the letter and put my game in the system and turned it on, and just like magic it booted flawlessly!!I would recomend this product to any one with the same delema.

1-0 out of 5 stars Lame Doctor This Sucks
I agree with all the other bad reviews. Spent the money on the doctor and it made 2 discs worse. Followed instructions to the letter. I'm gonna sue for malpractice!!

1-0 out of 5 stars BOO.
this thing sucks.I BROUGHT it and it ieft marks.I tryed again.DO notbuy this.they waste yourgood money.hear me this .they sould sue the creator of this for spending your money.

1-0 out of 5 stars it works occasionally
i bought this to repair a game i got for free that was scratched up to hell (didn't go through the top though).i used it on both discs (it was Red Alert: Retaliation for the psx) and then it worked pretty good, the only thing is that i still don't get music.i then went on repairing my brothers pc games, after the second one the strip that grinds down the protective layer was ruined and started scratching the disc. The free replacement wheel had its strip fallen off due to using crappy glue.Don't buy this, it'll eat up way to much money and can destroy your game CD! ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent - if you can live without the vibration
WaveBird is a very handy piece of controller. It responds very well, you won't notice any difference with the normal Nintendo controller. Some might say it weights more, but you will probably not notice the difference in weight between the WaveBird and the regular corded controller. The only real drawback is the absence ofvibration. If you think you can do without it, WaveBird is perfect.

5-0 out of 5 stars Awsome
This is the best thing that ever happened in the world. sure you have to have different frequances when your using 2 or more of them and the shut off feature if you leave it one.

4-0 out of 5 stars Works great, but where's the rumble?
I love it, but when I use it, I start to miss the rumble feature that's on the regular corded controllers. Oh well, I can play from 30 feet away.

3-0 out of 5 stars Not Much Wireless Without The Rumble
Nintendo really has put so much in the works with the triumph of their Gamecube video game system. Yet, they definitely brought so many wonderful kinds of add-ons to this great system. Unfortunately, when I heard so much hype about their wireless controller, I felt a little bit stoned. The Wavebird controller for the Nintendo Gamecube fairs as a very accurate controller through many different channels. However, there are a couple of downsides to owning a wavebird. One of them is that you lose the vibration feel that the corded version has in itself by Nintendo. That remains unfortunate. Another downside is that sometimes, your controller doesn't work very well, when you have another remote beam in the middle of the way from a different device like the VCR, or television. All in all, I honestly suggest you buy the Wired version of the Gamecube controller, if you want a better time with the games you play.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Good Working Controller!
I dont have a gamecube but my friend does. When she comes over she brings it all the time. She has the same controller and its great! It has a on and off button so you can save the batteries and it works from a far distance! I went out of my room with the controller and my friend was inside playing, and i pressed a button and it worked! The door was closed too! I think this controller is great and you should get it for the holidays! ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars This is the best thing ever!!!
Man this item is fantastic. I love wasting $80 on pointless furniture. Getting a great cheap plastic looking set that holds all my games and systems.... Man I must be in heaven. Not only that but it breaks easily, does this thing have no limit? So I bought this great video center around a year ago.... And what happens it breaks. I had it for a couple of weeks and does it look like dog crap. It looks like you're in a baby kids room. Similar to those play centers in day cares or McDonalds. Man that is lame.... I just love having children decor in my house, and it has to be $80. If I were you.... I would just let my systems, TV, and CDs sit in some tubberware. Believe me it would be 50X safer!!

5-0 out of 5 stars THE BEST!!
i bought this video center for my son for christmas as well a ps2 to store and at first i did not think that it would fit in the drawer part but it did but the ps2 games do not fit on the top left and right slots because of the length of the games however they do fit on the sides where you would put the vhs tapes and that is where my son has added his games so you would have to be a little creative with it. i had seen a review where a lady had bought this item for her son and she was very disappointed once she could not place the games in the slots and stated not to purchase. everyone out there! do not listen to that its a must have and it does help with organizing your room area! and the price at the time during the holiday season i could not resist for $71.99 plus free shipping! WOW!

4-0 out of 5 stars good buy
We thought this was very handy storage. It holds all our video equiptment just right.

5-0 out of 5 stars Idea
This looks like a great organizer, but with you people that have a x-box ps2 game cube and a dvd player you can buy cd cases that music cds come in and place the ps2 xbox and game cube games in those along with the dvds. It would be a bit of money depending on how many games and dvds you have though...

2-0 out of 5 stars If you have a PS2, or a DVD player, DON'Tbuy this!
I was very excited when the box first arrived at our doorstep. My eight year old son and I managed to get the unit put together, after a little tugging to get some of the screws to go into place. We carried it up to his room, and put the T.V. and V.C.R. into place. My excitement turned to bitter dissapointment, however, when I tried to fit my son's PS2 games into the shelves desighned to hold CD's or VCR tapes. The PS2, and DVD cases are too big to fit into these slots. I had just not realized that they would not work with this model. The whole reason I ordered this unit was too try to organize some of the mess in his room, so this will not work for me. I will probably try to return it, and order the newer model. ... Read more

    Reviews (4)

4-0 out of 5 stars Behold- an orange controller.
While it doesn't look like it, the GameCube's controller is very comfortable. Forget that it looks like a robot threw up all over the thing. Holding it doesn't require any adjusting, and finding all the buttons is a sinch. Unless you have huge lumberjack hands, playing games with this shouldn't be a problem. But, there is something that keeps the controller from getting 5 stars. While it is comfortable, there's still the matter of each button. And that's where things are a little bumpy. I'm surprised people haven't mentioned it yet.

First are the main 4 buttons: A, B, X and Y. While I these buttons don't bug me as much as the ones I'm about to get into, Nintendo could've tried a little harder. Why is the B button 1/3 the size of the A button? When I played Smash Bros. Melee for the first time, I was a little irritated that they did this, but adjusted in no time. Having all the special attacks performed with the smallest of the buttons seemed weird. While it is the biggest of the 4, the A button is easily accessable, and there are no problems there. X and Y are the same size, but their placement seems a little off, especially when compared to other system controllers out there, even some of Nintendo's previous efforts. Next, the 3 shoulder buttons L, R and Z, are a bit iffy. L and R are massive, and can be clicked in to serve alternate functions in some games. While it's nice to see that they're basically translations of the Xbox and ps2's analog sticks that can be clicked in, pressing in huge puffy buttons feels akward from time to time. And that Z button surprised me. I didn't know it was there the first time I played a GC game back in 2001. But now that I finally have the system, I got used to it. The C-stick is a welcome addition to any controller, mostly serving as a camera adjustment button for some of Nintendo's first party games. The main analog stick is equally nice, though it's in more of an octagon shape holster as opposed to the other current generation console ones, which are a complete 360˚. The Start button is just too small for my tastes. It's too high, and microscopic compared to everything else, even the B button. But what takes the cake is the useless d-pad. What happened? It's just barely the same size as a GameBoy's d-pad. The Xbox, Dreamcast, and even the old 64 had normal sized ones. But here, it's a joke. Don't even think about playing the one whole 2D fighter the system has with this thing. And if you're going to be playing some GameBoy games with the GameBoy Adapter, make sure to import the SNES-looking controller, with a real d-pad. It's nowhere near as small or stiff (as dirty as that sounds) as the one here.

Also, the Spice/orange color is pretty cool. As far as I know, this is the first real orange controller, excluding the transparent 64 consoles late in that system's life. Unless a lime green one comes out (doubtful at this point in the generation wars), this will probably be the most zany of colors. It's pretty slick.

While I mostly just griped and complained about the controller, it's still pretty good. I'm partial to the Xbox's of the 3 main systems out, mostly due to the better trigger buttons and flawless d-pad. If anything, the GC's controller beats the ps2's in the d-pad category...but just barely. At least the GC's is connected. The ps2's is seperated by direction, which is a dumb move, and makes fighting games a chore. Finally, be sure to get this first party version, and not some sorry-ass Mad Catz one. The price for first party accessories is always right, and the quality is first class.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best Controller
I do have four controllers. This is the one I use the most.I have a WaveBird wireless, two indigo controllers, and a third party controller.I like the unique orange color. The only reason why I do not use the wireless more (especially for single player games), is because the orange one rumbles.I like my controllers to vibrate in my hands.DO NOT by a third-party controller. The original, Nintendo made, first party controllers are the best. The Gamecube has the best controller of the BIg 3.PS2's controller is too confusing. The XBOX: What's up with the black & white buttons?

5-0 out of 5 stars five stars cuz its ORANGE 8-)
ok who doesn't love the real GC controller? i cant stand the bigger and smaller versions, theyre so uncomfortable, the origonal ones are smooth and sized perfectly, unlike those xbox controlers, which are preety bulky. of course its a controller so that immediatley earns it 4 stars, cuz its essential. i give it the fifth cuz its ORANGE I LOOOOOOOVVVEE ORANGE 8-)

5-0 out of 5 stars An excellent controller in a fun color
The official Nintendo Gamecube controller is the best console controller on the market, for ANY system. In my opinion, it's also the best controller that there ever has been, for any system, and I've been playing video games for a long time.

This controller is shaped so that when you pick it up, it feels like it was molded for your hands. It is extremely comfortable to hold, and your hands won't hurt after playing games for a few hours. Not only is it the highest-quality controller out there for the Gamecube, but you will also never need to buy a Microcon or a Pro Mini controller, because it is an excellent controller for hands of any size. For example, I can't use standard XBox controllers because they're so HUGE that I can't even comfortably reach all the buttons.I even had to buy a Microcon for my Ps2, because I couldn't reach the shoulder buttons on the standard Ps2 controller. Not so with the Gamecube--the shape and the layout of the buttons is GREAT and anyone should be able to comfortably reach and use all of them.

Finally, I really love this bright orange color.Indigo and jet (black) get kind of boring after a while, and it's nice that they offer something else.Out of my four controllers, the orange one is my favorite. :)

Don't buy third-party controllers just because they're cheaper! This is the best controller out there! ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Bad quality. It can ruin the gaming experience.
Here is the one good thing I can say about it. It will show the game you are playing.
    OK, that is it.
I had a problem with the sound. Now I am hearing-impaired, so I tried turning it up. It was either too loud or too quiet.
My pet peeve with this screen was the brightness control. I did not understand it at all! It just gave off random brightness depending on the colors appearing on screen. In my experience, it would get too bright to see well and I would find out the knob will not turn left anymore.
The screen is meant for one player only. You can play muti-player, if you can see your section of the screen that is as big as your hand.
Too small. Bad sound. Too bright.
By the way, it can show DVDs. Don't do it. The screen is just too small. You and your friends will be huddled around the screen like it is the last fire during a winter storm. And you will be there with your hands cupping your ears and squinting your eyes to see.

Don't do it. It is too expensive.

3-0 out of 5 stars beware new cube owners
this is the second gc ive had in the last few yhears, and i found that they have changed the newer ones with the older ones.the new ones are missing an input for hi def tvs.for intec tvs, they are configuered with the old input in mind.newer models cannot fit the intec tv cord.while this doesnt elminate the use of the tv, it does become cumbersome as youll have to tie on a few extra cables to get the tv to work

    1-0 out of 5 stars get a better 1
an XBox screen (7.2) will also work and it is much bigger for $150 the PS2 screen is 5.4 for the same price get a PS2 screen they just dont slide on the system which isn't the end of the world. If you want a screen that fits get this one but the others are easier to see. This screen is so small that it is very hard to read small print unless if your face is close to the screen.Bottomline is that the other screens are better for their value.

Wouldn't it be nice to play games without a cord stretching across yourliving-room floor, especially if you have little kids or large dogs in yourhousehold? Nintendo's Wave Bird isn't the first wireless controller ever broughtto market, but it's a whole lot better than what came before. You may remember abrief fad a few years ago with spotty infrared devices. These units failedbecause they were a lot heavier than standard controllers, and also because theyrequired a direct line of sight between the controller and the infraredreceiver. The Wave Bird is much lighter (it weighs a bit more than a regularcontroller) and uses radio frequency signals for reliable game control atdistances of up to 20 feet. Unless your playing on a stadium-size TV screen, that should be more than enough. The unit will last for about 100 hours of useon just two AA batteries and has 16 channel frequencies, so you'll easily beable to hook up four controllers without interference. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars The Best Controllers Ever!
I swear by these controllers. I have 3 of them and they are workhorses. Couldn't lose the signal if you tried. Highly Reccomend!

5-0 out of 5 stars My Story on the WaveBird Wireless Controller
I first heard about this brand in the Toys "R" Us big toy book.
On Christmas Eve I went to aunt Helene's they have a cool projector and my cousin Matt played with the GameCube on the projcetion screen. He was busy playing an NBA basketball game, and I wanted to play a game with him. So my mom told him to play a game with him, and I picked Mario Party 4. I had the WaveBird wireless controller. When the game was over I wanted it so badly.
I have a baby brother he's a toddler now so he's curious and I don't have to tangle the wires to prevent him from getting it. Instead I can just keep it in a safe place. Also I play on the floor, and it's more comfy playing on the bed. I haven't got it yet because Mom just ordered it.

4-0 out of 5 stars WhyBuy This When you can get a corded controller?
Why? Because it is much more durable. I own 3 corded contollers which I bought at the same time as my only wireless. The corded ones broke about 1 year hence, the wireless is still going strong. [...] In any case, if you are looking for an excellent gaming experience Purchase this item. SOMEWHERE ELSE!

5-0 out of 5 stars the best controller ever
ok this is so awesome i love it alot because i can play it on my bed when my tv is a lil far distance its so cool i dont have to worry about and cords i have 4 controllers 2 are blue then i have this one and i aslso have a black one but out of them all this one was the best so if i were you i would get it.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Best Wireless Controller of Any System
The Wavebird has set an example for all other wireless controllers. Lighter in weight than the regular controller (although lacking the somewhat cool rumble feature), the battery life of the Wavebird is surpisingly good, lasting much longer than expected. A pair of AA's lasted me all the way through The Wind Waker, and partway through Metroid Prime. Range is excellent, although I find that certain obstacles will cause a little glitching. It has also defeated the problem of the relatively short cord on the regular Gamecube controller. Overall, it's worth every penny. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Reviewing Reviews
To be perfectly honest, I don't own the Action Replay, though I would like to. I am only reviewing to let the uninformed buyer know that they should ignore the two people who gave the Action Replay a bad review.
This 'christina swan' person I can forgive, as she apparently doesn't know much about game systems. I'll tell you now, a cheat system CAN NOT ruin the game system itself. I own a gameshark for the N64, and I know that the dumbest thing you can do with one of those is to put in a bunch of random characters and hope it's a good code, and even then, the worst you could do was ruin the gameshark itself. If you want my opinion, the kid probably left the Gamecube open too long, letting dust or something get on the laser reader, blocking the laser and rendering the Gamecube unable to read discs. That happened to me before, the guy who did the repairs said that happened a lot with laser-disk based game systems like Gamecube and PS2.

As for the I HATE ACTION REPLAY guy, I'm gonna have to come up with a list for you:

-The codes are a bunch of numbers and letters, it takes you over two hours to put in one code.

*These codes are meant to actually change how the Gamecube reads the game, so you can keep the health meter stuck on full and stuff like that. Can you appreciate how much programming code is used to pull off something like that? Feel lucky you only have to put in a few letters and numbers. And as for the two hours, can you say exaggeration!?! I really doubt it would take even the slowest gamer that long to put in codes. Besides, learn to put a little effort into what you do.

-Codes only give you stuff like infinite lives and extra characters, who in their right mind would want that junk on their game?

*Oh, for the love of... It's a CHEAT SYSTEM. You're supposed to *gasp* CHEAT WITH IT!! Who in their right mind would want that on their game, you ask? Everyone but you, apparently.

-The price is too much.... it should be less.

*It's worth how much it cost the company to make it, plus some for profit. If you don't like it, don't whine to everyone on Amazon about it.

-Also it doesn't work on my super nintendo.

*Oh my...I'm sorry, I didn't know you had mental problems. You see, kid, a system that's made for a Gamecube usually works on a Gamecube, not the Super Nintendo. They're completely different systems, you see.

-Datel can't make cheat systems, they should jump off a bridge.

*I hate to stoop to your level, but here goes:
Considering your arguments, I think the world would be done a much better favor if YOU were to jump off a bridge. A high one. That happens to be over a pile of jagged rocks.

Actully, that felt pretty good. Anyway, last one:

-Don't buy this...instead go by the amazing Etch-A-Sketch.

*Why? If a person is looking for a cheat system, how would a toy drawing pad help them? And, no offence to you Etch-A-Sketch fans, but I don't see what's so amazing about it. Please come up with a decent argument next time.

If anyone wants to argue about this some more, feel free to e-mail or something, especially if you happen to be anything like this I HATE ACTION REPLAY guy. I'm here 'til Thursday. ;-)

3-0 out of 5 stars Works well, but has a big downside
The Action Replay does everything it is rumored to do. All the codes work perfectly. However, there is a big downside. If a code is not preset, you must manually set it. This may not seem like a hard task -and for some codes it isn't- but some codes can be up to 30 lines long. Doing this with a control stick can be quite tedious. I find myself deciding not to use the Action Replay sometimes because I don't want to spend the time entering a code. I've heard people say this software is user-friendly, I don't know where they got that from.

4-0 out of 5 stars Unhappy
My sons Gamecube was only 13 months old when after using this accessory for a couple of weeks, his system no longer worked. The people at Nintendo suggested that Action replay could be the culprit. Buyer beware.

5-0 out of 5 stars Some misconceptions
This is a great device if you want to explore the game 100%.The codes take a maxium of 1 minute to put in (most codes are 1 line and it is a mixure of numbers and letters BUT you are only putting in about 10 of these characters, so it is a matter of seconds)once the code is put in, it saves it so that you do not have to type it ever again (unless you decide to delete it ofcourse). It does not work on SNES because, well that is another system....Action replay (gameshark in the US until they stopped having Interact distribute them and sold it to Mad Catz) has ALOT of experience in these devices and proved that with the release of the Action Replay.

4-0 out of 5 stars This Is A Piece ...

5-0 out of 5 stars Modem
I would just like to make a correction so nobody gets confused.

There are TWO official online games as of now.Phantasy Star Online Ep. I&II, and PSO III

NO other ones are online. The only other ones that can be considered online are Mario Kart, Kirby, and 1080, and these are LAN games. Therefore, you need to have a broadband connection, and download a program online to connect you with gamecubes far away...

But they are not officially Online.

Anyway, the modem is easy to install, just as the broaband adapter is.You can go online with the two PSO games out for the cube, however, you cannot go online with the LAN games.

5-0 out of 5 stars GAMECUBE ONLINE !!!!!
I bought this adapter and it is easy too instal and is the greatest game accesory ever. some of these reviews are old but now there are many online games available for gamecube like 1080 avalanche, mariocart double dash, mario golf, Phantasy star 1,2,and 3, lord of the rings, need for speed under ground, final fantasy crystal chronicles ect...

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Buy!!!!
Okay, I bought this Modem with Pso when the game came out. I have to say this installation of the Modem is so easy compared to the PS2. Just snap it in and when you here the little "Click" your done. I would recommend this for anyone who is willing to play online with Phantasy Star Online. And not only does it work with Phantasy Star Online Ver. 1/2. It wi'll be really good to have when PSO Ver. 3 Come's out in the future. Anyways if you want to play 2 great online games for the GameCube the Modem Adaptor is a way to go.

    4-0 out of 5 stars . . . .
Ok, I have not bought this myself yet, although im going to do it today. But i have several freinds that have it and they all love it. Mainly because they're huge PSO fans. The charge is not bad, 8 dollors a month, cause think about it. If you get alowence or if you have a job, its practicly no problum. For me, this is a great item to have, who knows what great internet games Nintendo will come out with later. This deserves 4 stars.

    Later.....

5-0 out of 5 stars AWSOME!
