Amazon.com Product Description

To help you start your Game Boy Advance collection, we've created this special bundle, which includes the games Fire Pro Wrestling , Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2, and selected accessories. With Fire Pro Wrestling, you can enter the ring solo--or with a friend for some tag-team action--and execute dozens of moves, holds, and throws. In Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2, players perform hundreds of complicated tricks for points, and can ride as T. Hawk or any of a dozen other pros in the game. We've also included an AC power adapter to help you save on batteries and a Worm Light Advance to help you play through those low-light situations.

The Game Boy platform (which includes the original unit, the Game Boy Pocket, and the Game Boy Color) came to market when most video game consoles had a life expectancy of just a few years. More than a decade later, the system is still going strong. How did the Game Boy successfully compete--and in some cases bury--an onslaught of faster, more powerful handheld and home console systems? Let us count the ways: affordability; a huge library of games that consistently made the most of the hardware's limitations; smart power management that extended battery life; and uncluttered controls. But perhaps it was the system's ultra-portable design that allowed devotees to play video games around their schedules, making it the must-have system for kids and adults alike.

Now the Game Boy Advance (or GBA, as it's already being called) comes to us with power that would have been unthinkable back in the day. The portable's 32-bit RISC CPU runs circles around the former's 8-bit workhorse, allowing it to process program instructions much faster. What that means to everyday gamers is more intricate visuals, more simultaneous movement on the screen, and better sound. In fact, the often-annoying beeps and boops of old-school Game Boy titles are being replaced with digitized stereo sound. The extra processing muscle also means you can network up to four Game Boy Advance units together, via the communication cable, for multiplayer fun off of one shared cartridge. Only two Game Boy Color units could link together, and each unit had to have its own copy of the game.

What's not being replaced, however, is the wide selection of Game Boy games. Because the Game Boy Advance system is backward-compatible, it will play its own line of colorful games--including such launch titles as Super Mario Advance, F-Zero: Maximum Velocity, Army Men Advance, High Heat Major League Baseball 2002, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, and Ready 2 Rumble Boxing: Round 2--as well as all of the monochrome and color games that have already been released for the previous Game Boy systems (nearly 500 in total). Players can view the older games in their smaller, originally square dimensions, or, with the touch of the shoulder button, expand the game to fit the GBA's larger screen. We tried enlarging the screen on a Game Boy Color edition of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2, and found that Mr. Hawk was much easier to see.

When you first pick up the system, you'll be amazed how lightweight it is. At fewer than 5 ounces and a little larger than a deck of playing cards, the system easily fits into a shirt pocket without any sag. The GBA's wider shape fits better into a wider range of hands. The former design too often pushed the left and right thumb knuckles together during gameplay. The new layout should be comfortable for all ages, and the center screen orientation makes it easy to see.

Game Boy Color owners will find the GBA's larger screen somewhat darker than they're used to, but that's because the screen is outfitted with antiglare technology. Like the old Game Boy Color, the color LCD is not backlit, so you need pretty good light to play by. Unlike that system, though, you won't be craning your neck and tilting the unit to see around the hot-spot reflection of the light bulb in your screen.

But you'll also notice the graphics. Sporting what's basically a redesigned SNES technology, you'll see things on the GBA that you'd see on the big consoles, such as scaling (making objects larger or smaller) and rotation effects--technological advances that will affect the look of everything from crossing a finish line to throwing a touchdown pass to crawling through a dungeon.

Some might argue that Nintendo could have put even more power into the Game Boy Advance. After all, the 32-bit video game had its heyday more than five years ago. Perhaps, but after handling this new handheld, we're inclined to think that Nintendo wisely struck a balance between size, price, and power consumption. And considering how well the old 8-bit system weathered the decade's technological storms, we think the Game Boy Advance is here to stay, and we're glad. --Porter B. Hall

5-0 out of 5 stars THE COOLEST
This is the coolest thing! My friend just got one for his birthday and it's neat! I haven't played tony hawk on gba yet, but I played it on N64 and it was the chad!

3-0 out of 5 stars Happy with GBA and TH2, forget the rest
As a Nintendo fan I was happy to see this unit come out. However, stay away from this bundle. The light unit and the power back can be bought seperately for less than the cumulatice price of the bundle and the wrestling game is just not fun.My advice get the GBA and Tony Hawk 2, just don't buy it in this package deal!

2-0 out of 5 stars Much ado about nothing!
As an avid Nintendo fan, I was really excited about purchasing a Game Boy Advance this summer. So I got one, and was thoroughly disappointed. Not that the games aren't awesome and the graphics aren't smooth.I am disappointed that the screen is so difficult to see.Without a wormlight or other illumination, the screen of the Game Boy Advance is too dark to facilitate gameplay.Nintendo says they didn't include a backlit screen because it would have drained the batteries too quickly. They should have built in rechargable batteries and gone with the backlit screen.I am highly disappointed with my Game Boy Advance.Save your money. If you just HAVE to get one, Pelican sells a hooded light that also doubles as a screen protector. That gives you the brightest light with the least amount of glare on the screen. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars This rules.
I would like to recomend this to everyone who wants it. it is so cool, and it gives you plenty of light. Unlike wormlights it is always is in the right place to get the maxemum amount of light. It also protects you gameboy at the same time. So if you ask me, I think you should get it.
There are also some bad parts to it. It is hard to fit in most cases because they are designed to hold just the game light. Otherwise it works grreat. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars THis WORKS!!!!! I mean, Hello, this thing is amazing!!!!!!
I cant believe That guy 'a gamer'?????? would say that this is cruddy. Yeah, the speakers broke, but that was nothin'. The only way the could improve this is to put a Game Cube Metal case in to hold this many things!!!!!!!!!!! He said " headphone jack 'evil', but don't take his word for it.danny, holly, jane, brandon, roger, John, mike, kelly, emily, and wesley (All my friends) all agree this is the coolest thing ever and all want one. I want a whole bunch of accessories and a Limited Edition Orange And Green GBA SP because my silver broke, Just like the speakers, when my dog STEPPED ON IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HE is a 100 lbs. bermise Mountian dog, and he cut his paw on it. But other than my problems, this thing is the Greatest accessory pack EVER!!!!!!!!!! (and a reasonable price too.) :>)

5-0 out of 5 stars Listen to me and ONLY me!
Ok, I got this for my b-day.It's something I wanted for a long time, and let me tell you, it's worth the wait.Don't listen to any negative reviews about this thing. It's amazing!Everything is good and nothing breaks unless it's forced (ahem, to those of you who think they just break on their own)!I am an Action/Adventure/RPG god, so you can definitely just me.I know quality when I see or use it.(...)In a word, [AWESOME!]Yes, yes, yes!Buy this!

4-0 out of 5 stars This so cool!I am very happy I got it!
I am 13 yrs. old and I bought this pak. I am a new Gameboy Advance sp owner.I was a bit 'if..y' whether or not I should get this pak for it because someone had said it was junky. But I decided to get it anyway. When I came in, I was a tad dissappointed because it was the wrong color, but turns out it looks cool with the blue instead of all platinum. The car adaptor is long enough to reach the third row of seats in a van! The radio is not as big as a jogger's. It's good! I love this pak. It is perfect for me because I like to travel. We take long road trips and all this works in my Ford Explorer! It's also useful on the plane (except u cant charge it)! BUY IT! I HOPE I HELPED!! SHIPPING IS GOOD TOO! Everything fit! Nothing Broke! It even comes with two protector lenses. Speakers work loudly. LOL! The carrying case holds everything they give you and your GBA plus it can hold my game changer. The game cases hold two each, so you can keep 4 games protected. The headphones work wonderfully. They can even work for the radio and my portable dvd player and my walkman. They work as any other headphone for anything else. Thank God the pak comes with the headphone adaptor thing. Which also works!! I like the grips, they're cool and they fit perfectly. Be careful when assembling things together so that you don't brake anything. BUY IT! I hope this helped you!! Love, Jen (Julianne's daughter)

5-0 out of 5 stars This Thing Is Awsome!!!!!!!!
I'd give this 1,000 stars if i could everything works good and is good quality!!!!!

2-0 out of 5 stars Cheaply made
Intec has boxed up all its cheaply made SP accessories into one overpriced Ultimate Pak.You will likely throw away around half the accessories immediately after opening the box.I have witnessed the opening and testing of 2 Ultimate paks so I know that I didn't just get the one bad apple.

The good (yet cheaply made):

Spare battery - just like the stock battery
Wing grips - worth the cost of admission
Docking station - not really necessary, but nice
Car adapter - who doesn't need a car adapter?
Link cable - multiplayer goodness
Screen covers - not quite as necessary with the clam shelled SP
Case - very gaudy, but actually holds a lot of stuff
Ear phone adapter - a necessary evil
Ear phones - even cheap earphones work for SP

The bad:

Magnifying lens - unnecessary
Speakers - lots of static
Game cases - broke on first use
Neck strap - why?
FM radio - its as big as a jogger FM radio, why not buy one of those?
Faceplates - broke quickly

The ugly:

The belt clip - built to break

I haven't tested the link cables or the car adapter, so I will just assume they work. These accessories are pretty expensive when sold individually, so I figure I broke even on what I didn't throw away.My advice is to buy the accessories you want individually from someone other than Intec to avoid the cheap factor. ... This is an Awsome Pack For your gameboy

4-0 out of 5 stars Read before you buy
I just want you to know that I have had faith in the Intec company products till now. There ideas and designs are good, but the final product is not.
Let's start with the Light Magnifier. It magnifies very well, the single light creates a glare that feel like a sun spot burning into your eyes. They used to have a great Flip Light and Magnfier. It's magnification was crisp and clear; the two little lights lit the screen very well -with no glare at all.For some reason it is not on the market any more.
The battery pack [is bad] because you have to remove it from the gameboy to charge it.Intec used to make recargeable battery packs that you could charge while it was in the GBA.That's 'Unlimited Gameplay!'
The rest of the products are nothing to talk about because you can find the same anywhere else.
All in all, you should pester this company, as I have, to product better products like they used to. ... Read more

Amazon.com Product Description

To help you start your Game Boy Advance collection, we've created this special bundle, which includes the games Earthworm Jim, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2, and selected accessories. Earthworm Jim is a cartoonish platform-style adventure game in which a worm dressed in a high-tech supersuit saves the universe from some freaky evil masterminds. Players will perform hundreds of complicated tricks for points while incorporating environmental obstacles into their acts in Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2. We've also included a Game Boy Advance travel kit, which itself includes a rechargeable battery pack and AC adapter, a multilink game cable, a game light and magnifier, and a storage pouch. This pack also comes with a Game Boy holster so you can keep Game Boy Advance at the ready.

4-0 out of 5 stars Goods and Bads
The Game Boy Advance in one word is Cool. But remember cool thing are not always that cool.

Goods:
*Great graphics
*Lightweight
*Compatible with all gameboy games.
*And have fun games to play with, not like other Nintendo system that no longer produce games for all ages(thats my opinion...tell my what kinda games do you see in the the new Gamecube thats good for everyone in the family????only a few)
*Great sound
*And definitly a pretty for everyone design.

Bads:
*Ilumination(the worst thing)Don try to buy the worm light is really bad.And the other available lights are not what we need.
*Accesories.........sometimes they can be useful but they can be really annoying.
*And somethings thatss not that bad but gotta say it is the battery life

What the Gameboy Advance needs:
*Better Ilumination
*More features....what i mean with this????Wouldnt you like a gameboy you could use as a calculator,a notebook,a diary,and a lot of things....wouldnt you?
*And definitly we need a GameGirl(Im a girl)...

5-0 out of 5 stars game boy advance is really great
I feel this is the greatest gameboy around. You can hardly beat the graphics, and the loads of fun.i've even used it with my old game boy games, and its great.even thow the graphics are hard to see in a dark place like the car, using the worm light takes care of the problem easily.its very enjoyable and you and you children will have loads of fun.

2-0 out of 5 stars biased company
I came here to get ideas on the new system for my 7 yr old who wants the "new pink" game boy.My husband has the original B+W gameboy starting with Tetris, which was a really cool game. It was not for guys/boys OR women/girls.As i was reviewing this site and info, i realized, as mentioned before that there are hardly any games for girls. it seemes that game boy needs a new division......GAME GIRL.

After checking out this site,I will NOT be buying this item. I will be buying a computer game: which while not as mobile, will be either gender neutral or for girls...

5-0 out of 5 stars FABULOUS!
It is great and it works well! I would reccomend it to anybody! And it is definitly a good value cause if you buy everything seperatly it would cost much more!

1-0 out of 5 stars Not worth your money, and will probably end up on your shelf
When I was a small kid the first gameboy appeared, and it brought worlds of joy to me. The games were simple yet great. For most part as long as you stuck to simple games the gameboy could effortlessly provide you with tones of fun and occasionally some really bad cases of Tetris thumb. But it lacked something for when ever more complex games came out IE mortal compact the graphics would be horrible, there were color systems such as game gear, or some other less successful systems by companies like nec. But the problem were that those systems would eat-up the batteries so quick that one months of allowance would be blown away in a week. Then came gameboy color. The graphics seemed to be great and it seemed like it would provide hours of fun, especially on long plane rides, But with no back lit display it was nearly impossible to play it. Out side in the sun a lot of times the screen would glare up, and indoors the lighting would hardly ever be enough. So that system quickly went into my shelf, so now game boy advance comes a long. And all it really is, is gameboy color with a different shape and slightly bettergraphics. But the only difference is there are hardly no games, its nearly impossible to play with it in a car, unless you turn on the light, and that will distract the driver even more than a screaming kid or teen in the back. Although it is playable you’ll force your vision too much and you might harm it, its similar to when kids read a lot at night with inadequate lights, later on they end up having to get glasses. So I don’t think that money should be wasted on this, just if you have to buy gameboy color. Which will be cheaper. And if you’re a girl don’t buy this because I have noticed that it has been more popular with girls, and the game that girls liked the most was pack man and at the prices of the games they just aren’t worth it. Buy Gameboy color but don’t waste [price] on Gameboy Advanced. So take it from someone that has been around since the beginning since the original gameboy which came out over a decade ago, Gameboy advance is just not worth it and it will probably end up as a failed mutation of gameboy. ... 3-0 out of 5 stars NOT WHAT I ORDERED
I had the same issue as the other reviewer - I ordered the started pack for my son for his birthday - thinking that with the link cable - he will be able to play with his friends....no cable....completely different starter pack. I am highly disappointed with AMAZON....I just hope that my son isn't equally disappointed with his Birthday present

4-0 out of 5 stars Wrong Stuff Included
I was very disappointed when I received this item. The ONLY reason I bought it was for the "game link cable".I had purchased a second Game Boy Advance (yes I am a 41 year old Game Boy addict LOL)and I wanted to be able to link up my two Pokemon games.I thought the other items included would just be a "bonus".I was disturbed to find that NO GAME LINK CABLE WAS INCLUDED in the package!I double-checked the item online and it CLEARLY shows a game link cable.Even in the reviews, a link cable is referenced. When I look at a larger picture of the product, the first thing it says is "game link cable".

However, they must have re-packaged this set to include different materials. What I received was a light, a carrying case, a "screen protector" -- which is a cheesy piece of sticky cardboard that I would never DREAM of putting on my unit, a rechargeable battery pack, and six game storage boxes.NO LINK CABLE.

Therefore, either they have re-packaged this set, or they sent me the wrong stuff!Of course, now that I have opened it and torn through the package looking for my cable, I can hardly return it, can I?

I gave this product "one star" because the other items (especially the carrying case and the game storage boxes) WILL come in handy .. but I think it is false advertising to display pieces that are NOT included with the product any longer.Although I will find a use for many of these items, I never would have purchased it in the first place if I had known I wouldn't be getting the cable.Buyers beware! :)

4-0 out of 5 stars NOT WORTH IT
the link cable and the batterie pak are fine, but the light makes everything harder to see

This is very helpful. If your smart, buy it! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Really good gamer's kit.
When I saw this at a local store for a cheap cheap price, I immediately picked it up and bought it. This kit includes accessories worth around $80 bucks in total. I love how the gameboy AC adaptor easily plugs into the grip pack, it is very convinient for long train rides when batteries are running low. Overall, this set includes:

A battery pack that is rechargable

A wing grip for better play (goes with battery pack to recharge)

An AC adaptor to charge the battery pack

A light to play during the day or night! WARNING: The brackets on the light break EXTREMELY EASILY.

A cover up LCD screen to protect your GBA screen from dust, prints, etc.

Six intec game cases in two different compartments. Note: For easier storage, up to seven of the Intec cases can fit in a compartment, leaving room for other accessories.

A different battery pack to be charged by a cigarette thing in the car.

And an adaptor that connects the battery pack to a cigarette lighter thing in a car.

Basically, all of these accessories make your GBA an armour pack... literally. Once by accident I dropped my GBA with the stuff on it on a concrete ground, and not a dent was found in it. The accessories truly work well!

3-0 out of 5 stars questionable quality
my 9 yr old daughter loved the gamer's kit for a while. However, after abouta week one of the brackets to the magnifier broke. The gameboy doesn't fit in the case with the magnifier attached. This requires that you take the magnifier on and off which can be somewhat difficult for her.Due to her repeatedly having to remove the magnifier one of the clips broke. She doesn't use it much now which is disappointing to her and to me. I haven't been successful with Toys r Us to get her a replacement magnifier/light.

4-0 out of 5 stars Has it all!
This kit is great! It has all the GameBoy Advance accessories you need. AC adapter, car adapter, link cable, magnifier/light/screen cover, game cases, earphones, rechargeable batteries, and the case is sturdy and durable. My 2 kids (8 and 11) love theirs.

3-0 out of 5 stars i think it needs more
when i looked at the add in the paper i was excited. I thought the package came with a game. since it doesnt im not sure if its gonna be the best deal for me. im trying to get my son a gameboy advanced but it seems like you get weighed down by buying the games, accesories, the actual console. I think you need a package with atleast one game some accesories and the console, for christmas i think a package like that would be a parents dream. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Doesn't really work
Well, it has a pretty dim light.
And there is also a lot of glare.
And if you thought that(like I did) that it is ajustible, it isn't really.
When you try to bend it a different way, it bounces back, unless you bend it really hard.

The only reason that I did give it 2 stars, is because, I have tried one other light, and it was [bad] too, and I asume the other ones are also pretty [bad], so I am grading it on a curb.

2-0 out of 5 stars doesn't work
I do not use this product alot because it doesn't even work for ME!!!!! I used it maybe once or twice but it doesn't work anymore!!!!!1

5-0 out of 5 stars nintendohas got a bright idea here
this light is great i mean it rocks this is a great light for the GBA even though if you had a gameboy and a wormlight well the gb wormlight does work on the GBA you should get the GBA wormlight my title says nintendo has got a bright idea here well your probally wondering what that means well here it is in the old GB days when you were in your car in the dark and you plugged in your wormlight you had to sacrifice the fact that you couldn't link up well all thats changed when you plug in the light you can plug the link up cable in the back of the wormlight so you can play4 player in the dark me i think that rock s looks like nindndo has got a bright idea

2-0 out of 5 stars poor quality, wholly inadequate
This product has improved the visibility of the screen only by the slightest of margins, in my experience. Earlier comments about the light being bluish, and about a glare dot are also accurate.

Amazingly, Nyko does appear to have put SOME thought into this device, evidenced by it's low power consumption, extension of the EXT port, and cool(?) looks.

Recommended for racoons and ex-KGB agents.

3-0 out of 5 stars It's okay if you have to play in the dark
Unfortunately, my title pretty much sums it up.I'm 38 and enjoy playing Gameboy and it's always annoyed me not to have enough light. This definetely helps, but the white light annoys me even more than not having enough light. What I've done, is turned off all the lights and played with just the worm light and that helped alot.Try it that way.The white light is still there but not as annoying because your using only the worm light to see with.Great in cars and if you share a bedroom. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars GET THIS!
I have tried 2 other lighting products for GBA...they both broke! This is the only one that is perfect. It magnifies the screen while lighting it. Then when your done, you fold it down and it acts as a shield to protect your GBA from scratches! It's better than other products and it's 3 products in one! It's sturdy too. It clasps on better. THe last magnifier/light product I had was held onto the GBA console by 2 hooks. When I played it lying down the hooks couldn't take the weight and it busted off...plus it was too hard to take onand off my GBA. This thing rules....GET THIS!! ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Misleading
The information given for the item is very misleading. The way it is written it would appear that the GameBoy Advance - White is included in the package "everything you need to play anywhere, anytime".I was surprised to receive only an accessory package and no system.I have a very disappointed son who didn't get the Game Boy Advance he was expecting for Christmas. ... Amazon.com Product Description

InterAct's battery-powered, incandescent SharkLight enables portable gameplay in low-light or no-light environments. Compatible with Nintendo's Game Boy Advance or Game Boy Color, the SharkLight enhances visibility and reduces glare with its focus control. Designed in the shape of a shark, the light attaches to the back of either Game Boy system and runs on two AAA batteries (included). And because it has its own separate power supply, you don't have to run the risk of added drain on your batteries during an important game. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Problems with the sharklight
I've been reading the reviews on the sharklight and some of them say that the light keeps moving but with me is the other way around. The little piece that you attach to the gameboy is so tight that I can't remove it and as a result I cannot put the gameboy in its travel pack because it doesn't fit anymore, its really annoying and not helpful at all. I wish I would have read these reviews before buying it !

1-0 out of 5 stars not too great
My 11 year old gave it this review: "the worst light light you can get".He is a little extreme, but we did have these problems with it: The light is pretty weak, and when you turn it up to full volume it makes the batteries die really fast.In addition, the flexible shaft doesn't stay in place. It has to be constantly rebent into position.IMHO this product needs some more R and D work.I do not recomment it in its present form, instead, check out the magnifier light.

1-0 out of 5 stars Stinks
The light is not strong enough, terrible glare!!!
Looks cheap!!!

2-0 out of 5 stars An Okay Light...
This light was helpful, and it could fit on a Game Boy Color or a Game Boy Advance, which was good. However, the design was annoying and you had to adjust it until you got the right angle. It was very irksome sometimes. You'd be better off getting some other light.

1-0 out of 5 stars Waste of time and money
The sharklight looks alright, I guess. When you see it up close, on a gameboy, it looks pretty cheesey. I thought it would be pretty cool to have the dimmer on it, but it doesn't work well. It's really jumpy. Because of how heavy the light is, and how flimsy the wire is, it isn't very sturdy. You definately couldn't use it in a car. Finally after putting up with having to use it, it broke where the wire meets the battery compartment. Also, the idea of it having its own batteries is really stupid, just more batteries for you to buy. I think it's better to have one that runs on your game boy's battery. If you're looking for a light for your game boy advance, get the light shield advance from pelican, the dimmer works better, and it is very sturdy. ... Read more
