5-0 out of 5 stars Now this might seem kinda weird....
Kinda weird talking about a controller, and they usually arn't thought of too much. But this controller is really quite easy to get used to. In several situations, it can be used however the person wants, for comforts sake. It has the classic arrow directions, the newer joy stick, your average A and B buttons, a C button, split into 4 parts for specifics (left right up and down), the return of the L and R buttons from SNES, and a new, never before seen, Z button. All buttons are very reachable, however you choose to hold the controller. It has a total of 13 buttons and a joystick, yet they are all easily accessed. It is complex, but not complex so that things are hard to access. Everything from this point on, is the game programers idea of how it would be best to configure buttons to functions. The Z feels like a good trigger and the joy stick is great for directions in a way the key pad never was.
Another thing, for people who have smaller hands, or bigger hands, it really does not handicapt you in anyway, as some of the bigger, blukyer controlers do (Xbox). The only problom I have noticed, is with my 5 year old brother, he sometimes can't reach a L R or Z, since he is still growing, and really is too small to understand most of the games he's playing anyway.
Another plus is how all the buttons are color coded. With things like Triangle, Square, ect, I remember having big problems remembering which was which, and had to keep glancing down, handicaping me significantly. But it is easy to remember, blue is naturally down, B is a slight extention, and the c's can be felt easily, since they are close together.
To tell you the truth, I can only think about 1 time in a game where I had problems reaching something, and that was the L button while using the joy stick. Usually I just let go with my right hand and tap the L. But what I really, really want to see in the future, is a controller where I can hold it with one hand and do everything. (To use the other for pop-corn stuffing.) The N64 can be held with the left hand alone, and navigated, but the a and b are virtually impossible to tap without dropping the controller.
Enough! The point is, this is like a glove to a hand, exept it isn't warm and fuzzy. Get it in your favorite color! :-)

4-0 out of 5 stars nothing beats thereal thing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I bought one of those imitation brands controller and it was not the same it was not accurate and the life span was short i decided to spend alittle more and get the real thing,i have no regrets,it maybe simple but its definitely the best out tnhere.......................

5-0 out of 5 stars BEST CONTROLLER EVER!!
This is hand down the best controller (best feel and most durable)out there!

4-0 out of 5 stars Suitable controller.
A very suitable controller for any N64 game, including high tech racing games. The joystick is flexible, and stays firm for a good while, but not for the most hardcore games. The extra buttons on the controller only come in use for particular gameplay moves and strategies. This is not common however, so the buttons are not particularly useful. The other inferior third party controllers, such as Naki International, are made poorly and break VERY easily. The control buttons also wear out rather rapidly. This type, licensed by Nintendo, takes a good amount to damage the buttons and cause wear. The entire device is nice quality, lasting longer than any controller would. The controller color does not matter, it is the same exact quality product. Buy this, and ONLY this. Happy gameplay!

3-0 out of 5 stars so-so
It's a cool controller, I admit that, but it's kinda wierd. It doesn't have a very sturdy feel, the buttons seem weak, and the control stick made my hand ache for days. It's good, but a little crumby. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Intec isn't.
You get what you pay for.$40 isn't going to cut it in this arena. It's extremely light, which in this case is bad as you can throw this around all day long without actually turning the wheel.Where the feel of the wheel isn't all that bad, there's a huge gap in sensitivity between turning off center to something actually happening.Whether it's calabration or bad electronics I can't say, but when you turn the wheel, you expect whatever it is you're turning in the game to turn, not go into the wall.

There's an obvious delay in the translation of motion to action as well, even when well into a turn.

This isn't worth the money.Spend the larger bills and do it right the first time.

4-0 out of 5 stars Is it worth $80 NO!!!
This wheel while have good force feedback and vibrating functions as well as good compatibility with many games has one HUGE flaw! The gas and break pedal are not analog like they advertise. They are either "on" or "off"... which means they are usless. You can't control the speed like you can with the analog stick, you get either full speed or nothing. Don't waste your time, get a TRUE analog wheel.

4-0 out of 5 stars Don't waste your money
I purchased this wheel yesterday for PS2 (Grand Turismo 3).I spent 15 minutes getting it out of the box and 1 puting it back in the box.

Way too much play in the wheel.Don't waste money or time.

4-0 out of 5 stars Not Worth it
I bought this product to use with Nascar Thunder 2004 on PS2. Huge Mistake! The pedals are not analog as advertised, so they are totally useless for road courses. The force feed back has so much slack in it that it makes it impossible to stay off the walls. These are fine for racing the super speedway courses since you just keep it floored and turn left the whole time. What's worse is that I lost the receipt so Toys R Us wouldn't take it back. They explained they don't do refunds or store credits for "R zone" merchandise anyway so I'd still be stuck with this piece of crap. There may or may not be a better wheel out there, but I'll stick with the standard controller.

4-0 out of 5 stars Is This Really Worth $80
Is this product really worth 80 bucks?

( The Xtreme FX Racing Wheel )

I am interested in thisand it's a lot of money for something like that and if it's not good i don't want to waste my money. So if you have this product and you think it's god or bad please let me know.

In a surprising number of ways, the Nintendo DS is quite unlike any video game system that's come before. First, there's the two screens, one above and one below. The idea might seem like a gimmick -- the screens are far enough apart that you won't be able to see them as one long screen -- but the format works in a complementary way. Depending on the game, the DS serves action in one screen and details, maps, stats, or alternate views in the other. Switching your eyes between screens takes a little getting used to, but quickly becomes automatic, like checking a rear-view mirror while driving. Both screens are back-lit and a little larger than that of the Game Boy Advance SP, so they'll be easy to see in most conditions.

Nintendo DS used with a stylus
Players can control games using the touch-sensitive bottom screen of the DS.
The bottom screen also functions as a PDA-style touchpad. It comes with a small stylus, as well as a stylus that attaches to your thumb. This touch screen might be both the best and worst feature of the DS. One one hand, it brings the freedom of PC-style mouse control into gaming, but using it also tends to block what's going on in that screen. For example, while playing the Metroid Prime: Hunters, you could use the left thumb pad to move, the left shoulder button to fire, and the touch screen to look and jump. As you track foes on the bottom-screen map, however, your view will be partially obscured by your own right thumb.

The good news is that Nintendo has stressed a lot of comfort options, both in the operating system and in their games. Want to play Metroid without the touch-pad? Select a different control scheme in the game's option menu, which also includes configurations for lefties. You can even customize your DS to automatically play the inserted title or to start with the main menu, choose which screen to display your GBA games, to add a nickname for wireless play, and more.

Nintendo DS used with a stylus
Up to 16 players can connect wirelessly within a 100-foot radius.
That's right, the DS is wireless-enabled. Say good-bye to that daisy-chain of network cables that was previously necessary for portable multiplayer gaming. Nintendo's proprietary wireless format has a radius rated at 30 to 100 feet depending on environmental interference with its signal. Surely, it's more than enough for friends to game from one end of the bus to the other. We experimented in a small, nearly empty parking lot and got great reception at the upper end of that rating. The DS network can handle up to 16 users, though you can expect the maximum number of players to vary from game to game.

Also, unlike all but the earliest video game systems, the DS comes with a built-in application. It's called PictoChat, and it allows people to write and draw pictures in a chat-room format. Since it's built in to the DS operating system, you'll always be able to interact with other DS users.

Nintendo DS used with a stylus
The built-in program PictoChat lets you write and draw with others.
But not all is new; Nintendo has re-invested some favorite features of older platforms into the DS. It's backward compatible to the Game Boy Advance, which means that older Game Boy and Game Boy Color games won't work in this machine but GBA games will run fine (sadly, the wireless feature doesn't extend to GBA games). Like the GBA SP, the DS is powered by a rechargeable lithium-ion battery that provides approximately 10 hours of play on a four-hour charge. Old timers might recognize the A/B/X/Y face buttons from the Super Nintendo controller, though they're not in the same positions. The standard headphone jack and wide-body comfort of the first GBA model is back, coupled this time with the SP's screen-saving clamshell design. In terms of its ability to display graphics and sound, the DS is a little better -- and a whole lot smaller -- than the Nintendo 64.

Overall, the Nintendo DS represents a rather large leap in portable gaming. With some mystery shrouding the future abilities of its internal microphone (voice recognition) and its IEEE 802.11 wireless network, the DS may have left some surprises up its sleeve. --Porter B. Hall

Pros:

  • Great design marries innovative new features with great features of old systems and lots of customizable options
  • Wireless up to 100 feet
  • Built-in PictoChat lets you write and draw pictures with up to 15 other DS users

Cons:

  • Sometimes hard to see and use the touch screen at the same time
  • Wireless multiplayer feature won't work with GBA games
  • Can't connect to other wireless devices...yet

3-0 out of 5 stars Its cool but the lack of games.....
I got a Nintendo DS for Christmas. I have to say that I do like it. However the amount of good games available is not as great as I would expect for a system about to face intense competition (I.E., Playstation Portable). I have played the Metroid demo to death as well as Super Mario 64 DS. I am impressed by the system. I eagerly await some decent games (the reason i wanted it is the soon to be released Final Fantasy 3 never released in the USA) and compatibility with other WI-FI devices for true wireless online play. I hope to play some great games soon.

4-0 out of 5 stars What an amazing device
From a certain standpoint, this is quite a revolution in gaming. The Nintendo DS is without doubt one of the most amazing things Nintendo has ever presented to the world. The Nintendo DS is a handheld powerhouse.

To begin, this is not just another Gameboy system. This is a system capable of handling 3D graphics and smooth frame rate. It has wireless capabilities, and a touch screen.

Let's start off with the gold. What makes the DS a treasure. The DS supports 64-Bit graphics, making it possible to present games in full 3D. Not only that but the picture is clear and crisp. If you have a Nintendo 64 you'll also note that the DS presents games looking a bit more lavish (look at Super Mario 64 DS for instance).

The touch screen is a new addition to gaming, and the DS makes good use of it. Enjoying the DS's touch screen is just one of the biggest joys of it. Each DS comes with a stylus. Use the stylus to touch the screen. It makes some things more convienent than sifting through a menu.

The DS is also more than just a gaming system. You can set the date, time and even an alarm clock. The DS is also wireless up to 100 feet. Using the wireless connection you can go into chatrooms with up to fifteen other people. It also makes playing multiplayer a lot easier. No more link cable!

The sound is presented in stereo. There are now two speakers as opposed to one. Plug in some headphones and the games just sound incredible!

As for GBA games. There's a seperate slot to put them in. You can select whether you want the GBA to display on the touch screen or top screen. Regardless, GBA games look clearer than they did before. They show up much brighter on the DS than previously.

The DS also comes with a charger. As with the GBA it takes about three hours to fully charge. You can play the DS while it charges as well.

In addition to the games. If you have something you must attend to but don't want to leave the DS on, just flip it closed and the system automatically goes to sleep. It's much easier than having to press certain buttons or select "sleep" from the menu.

To those who say the DS is too big and bulky, I'm preplexed.I can fit in my pocket with ease. It's not too heavy and doesn't drag my pocket down.I can fit it just about anywhere.

But with all the good comes some bad. Every system has some sort of flaw. And the DS unfortunately has a few flaws of its own.

Firat of all, the games are brutally small. They're about an ince tall and an inch wide. If you don't keep your games in some sort of game case, you'll undoubtably lose them.

While the DS plays GBA games, it doesn't play normal gameboy games or gameboy color games. So just because you get a DS doesn't mean you throw your previous GB systems to the side.

The buttons are small! My fingers are pretty big and it sucks to press the "B" button and suddenly hit the "Y" button along with it. I was also disappointed to find you can't configure the "Y" and "X" buttons to act when playing a GBA game.

The touch screen is nifty, but the DS almost requires the Stylus. If you touch the touch screen with your bare hands you could damage it with the oils on your fingers. The stylus is also small and easy to lose. Luckily, the DS has a place that stores it for you. It may also prove troublesome at first to keep your eye on the touch screen and the top screen.

Lastly, wireless multiplayer doesn't work with GBA games. So if you want to play a GBA game up against a friend then you'll still need the GBA link cable to do it.

The DS is a wonder, true enough. But there are a few glaring things about it. It's worth the money, but a few small things about it may grow into big problems in the long run. It's an incredible system but the small problems keep it from being perfect.

The good
+It can handle more power than the GBA
+You can still play GBA games
+Surround Sound and Stereo!
+Touch screen brings more intuitive gameplay
+Lavish presentation
+Not too complex or complicated to understand
+More than just a gaming sytem. It has a clock, calender and alarm clock set.
+Wireless connection of up to 100 Feet
+Wireless connection is easy to use
+Chat with other DS holders
+Small and compact. It fits in your pocket just like a GBA

But of course those cons
-You shouldn't touch the touch screen with your fingers
-The games are SMALL
-You can't play GBC or regular Gameboy games
-The buttons are a little small
-Wireless Multiplayer doesn't work with GBA games

A great system with forgiveable cons. If you loved your GBA you'll only be doing yourself another favor by purchasing this.

5-0 out of 5 stars My Life with a Nintendo DS
My life with a nintendo DS would be magnificent!!!I want it really bad. Everyone in my class has expect"ME". I think that the DS is the best thing a kid wants.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Features
If you want an unbelievably perfect graphics system, then u should wait for the psp. But if you want a system with still good graphics, amazing touch-screen features, and chatting functions, then you better get the Nintendo ds. the psp has the best graphics, but it looks very hard to control, as it is so wide and the games aren't that good. The ds has almost as good graphics, along with great games and so many extra features, including microphone, a stylus+touch screen, and even wireless multiplayer and chat functions.

1-0 out of 5 stars Different Product But For Screen Protectors
I am writing for the Pelican Screen Protectors..I bought them and next thing you know my screen is surrounded with glue from the sticker and to get it off was a hassle do not buy Pelican Screen Protectors my screen is not scratched thanks to them im going to get them purchase me a new DS or replace my screen

Beware even pelican stylus are not big enough and slip out of the back of the DS ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Best cheat device for PS2!
the best part of codebreaker is the number of codes available. some games have literally hundreds of codes, it's crazy! this thing earns its name by having codes that bend almost every rule in a game. you also have ability to add new codes by using your controller, a usb keyboard or the internet. i have dsl and the first day i downloaded new codes and gamesaves easily. i didn't have to change any settings or anything. another feature is that it remembers the last codes you put in, so if you're just focusing on one game you don't have go through and select the same codes again. it's loads pretty fast and is simple enough to use, especially if you already have experience using cheat disks. it's well worth the price. ... Not just a great price, but authentic Nentdo Game Boy brand, not after market brand.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Buy
I recently bought this carrying case for my little sister for her birthday. She is rather rough with her things but this case has kept her game boy and games in great condition.Although some people have said that this is a waste of money, but for the price her it is almost a steal.I recommend this to anyone who has a Game Boy Advanced SP.

4-0 out of 5 stars A handmade bag is more durable than this
K, people, let me tell you somthing. I haven't bought this item, and I don't intend to. I read the reviews. See, I was going to buy it, but the reviews changed my mind. They are totally right. How could somthing with one clasp and no zipper be any more help then a grocery bag? Really! This is how you can save your money: (I did this) Get a lot of fabric and make a bag a bit longer than you think it should be. Like, make it 1.5 feet long. Then you can fit like 1 gameboy advance sp and 20 games. Then, since the bag is so long, you can tie it shut. Don't waste ur money on this crap, just make your own. It's really durable. I've had mine for four years. I could fit 15 gameboy color games and 1 gameboy color in there! Plus, it feels good to know that your gameboy bag was made by yourself. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Modem
I would just like to make a correction so nobody gets confused.

There are TWO official online games as of now.Phantasy Star Online Ep. I&II, and PSO III

NO other ones are online. The only other ones that can be considered online are Mario Kart, Kirby, and 1080, and these are LAN games. Therefore, you need to have a broadband connection, and download a program online to connect you with gamecubes far away...

But they are not officially Online.

Anyway, the modem is easy to install, just as the broaband adapter is.You can go online with the two PSO games out for the cube, however, you cannot go online with the LAN games.

5-0 out of 5 stars GAMECUBE ONLINE !!!!!
I bought this adapter and it is easy too instal and is the greatest game accesory ever. some of these reviews are old but now there are many online games available for gamecube like 1080 avalanche, mariocart double dash, mario golf, Phantasy star 1,2,and 3, lord of the rings, need for speed under ground, final fantasy crystal chronicles ect...

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Buy!!!!
Okay, I bought this Modem with Pso when the game came out. I have to say this installation of the Modem is so easy compared to the PS2. Just snap it in and when you here the little "Click" your done. I would recommend this for anyone who is willing to play online with Phantasy Star Online. And not only does it work with Phantasy Star Online Ver. 1/2. It wi'll be really good to have when PSO Ver. 3 Come's out in the future. Anyways if you want to play 2 great online games for the GameCube the Modem Adaptor is a way to go.

4-0 out of 5 stars . . . .
Ok, I have not bought this myself yet, although im going to do it today. But i have several freinds that have it and they all love it. Mainly because they're huge PSO fans. The charge is not bad, 8 dollors a month, cause think about it. If you get alowence or if you have a job, its practicly no problum. For me, this is a great item to have, who knows what great internet games Nintendo will come out with later. This deserves 4 stars.

Later.....

5-0 out of 5 stars AWSOME!
WOOOOW..... THIS IS THE GAMECUBE ONLINE IS SWEET

3-0 out of 5 stars Solid Storage Solutions for PSP
While the PSP is certainly one of the slickest pieces of gaming hardware ever, it's ultra shiny and clear surfaces make it a very high maintenance little toy, indeed. The need for protective cases and travel-friendly accessories is therefore a very integral part of the PSP experience.

Sony seems to be content to leave this potentially profitable market to third party manufacturers for now, hence the following review of Pelican's Road Pak 1.

Consisting of a couple of different power sources, a carrying case, and UMD sleeves, Pelican has put together a compelling product, at least for the first run of "must-have" PSP accessories. At the core of this kit is arguably the rechargable battery. Also sold as an individual unit for about $20, the rechargable battery is a rather cheap-looking little black brick with a green LED indicator and pass-through that allows you to charge your PSP while simultaneously charging the battery itself.

While I have not scientifically tested the battery charge times, I've found that it is good for at least a single full charge to your PSP. It is rated by the manufacturer to do two full charges, but I feel it is probably safer to say between 1 and 1 and a half "good" charges. It should effectively double your overall playtimes if you are out and about. I believe it's best use will be continuous gaming or watching a couple of movies during a 4-6 hour flight.

One problem I found is that the battery gets almost alarmingly hot during charging, especially when it is being used as a pass-through to charge your PSP at the same time. I would probably avoid dual charging and just do each device separately for everyday use.

The Pak also includes a 12V car adapter, which is perfect for road trips.

The soft case bears mentioning as well. Made of a sturdy nylon, it has a rigid, pre-formed compartment for your PSP and charging devices. I assume it's molded plastic with a felt-like coating sprayed on. I actually like this as it prevents the PSP from floating around in the case and coming into contact with everything, although the PSP fits too snugly to allow external screen protectors that might attach to the PSP to fit in too. There are also two other separate compartments for UMDs and miscellaneous items. The section meant for UMDs is positioned directly over the PSP compartment, and although there is a lightly padded partition to separate the two, the paranoid part of me is hesitant of trying to stuff anything there. I would probably want a separate case for UMDs or see better padding in a future design.

Also included as almost an afterthought are several colorful UMD sleeves and a tiny cleaning cloth. The UMD sleeves are of the "slide in" style that have univerally been criticized for lightly scratching the external housing of the UMDs. They will, however, protect the exposed optical read slot from damage, so they are still useful, if you don't mind the possible cosmetic consequences. The cleaning cloth is black in color and is quite small compared to the one included in the PSP value pack. It would be ok as a backup, or if you really want to stick something over your PSP screen while it's inside the travel case.

Overall, the Road Pak is a very good value and it one of the better first generation accessory packs. I have yet to come across an accessory kit that truly delivers the "right stuff" as far as storage case, screen protection, media protection, and power sources, but the PSP is still in it's infancy. The battery pak alone is about half the value of the entire package, so it's definitely an accessory kit worthy of consideration. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars GREAT SYSTEM ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE THE SEGA CD TOO
Sega and Nintendo were the main competitors in the 16 bit console wars and goes to show they both had good game consoles. The Sega Genesis library was filled with great exclusives like (Sonic The Hedgehog games,Splatterhouse 2,Golden Axe)and many more titles. I thought Super NES did display better overall graphics but Genesis had some great graphics for the time too,Sega Genesis did however deliver in the sound department with better music and as good a sound as the Super NES. Lastly when the Sega CD came out it was expensive but has some great games(SONIC CD,ETERNAL CHAMPIONS:CHALLENGE FROM THE DARKSIDE, FINAL FIGHT CD,LORDS OF THUNDER,SNATCHER)and more and you can play audio CD's which at the time not many people had a CD playere in there house. Overall the Sega Genesis+SEGA CD is a fun system and I would recommend Super NES also, but stay away from Turbografx,Jaguar,3d0 by all means ,I learned the hard way on those systems. BOTTOM 4 STARS IF YOU JUST HAVE THE SEGA GENESIS,AND 5 STARS EASY IF YOU HAVE THE SEGA CD! ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Too Expensive to be that cheaply made!
I bought one a while ago for $40, two months later it broke somehow. Then I got another one for $30... That one broke too!.This headset is about as durable as a Lays Potato Chip...I'm serious!.... So basically I spent $70 on a delicate potato chip that enables you to communicate with other people over the internet.

1-0 out of 5 stars JUNK!
it WILL break.I have gone through 3 of 'em.Must have for Socom 2, the only reason i kept buying it.But never again, i have since gone silent after spending $30 a piece on these pieces of JUNK!

1-0 out of 5 stars WILL BREAK IN NO TIME!
i purchased this headset a month ago, despite being told that it breaks easily and the uslesness of it in online games. even though i was extremely carfull not to cause any trama on the headset, to broke any way. the earphone doesn't work and the microphone is weak.
so forget about buying this peace of junk, it just won't last.

2-0 out of 5 stars Total Junk
Note: I don't own a PS2, I bought this for a cheap USB headset for my computer.

This headset is really bad. The build quality is a joke; I was afraid I was going to break it taking it out if the packaging (incidentally, the packaging is quite solid). The plastic is cheap and flimsy.

Besides the low quality build, this thing is tiny, clearly designed for a little kid to wear. I adjusted it as big as it would go, and while I got it on my head, the fit was light years from satisfactory. Even for people with smaller heads, it only adjusts on one side, so if you adjust the size the headset becomes lopsided.

The sound quality is also very poor. While it noticeably cancels some noise, the remaining signal is scratchy, and generally low quality (though not as bad is the build quality).

2-0 out of 5 stars Is this the only USB headset that works on PS2?
I realize that there are exactly 2 headsets that seemed to be endorsed, but I stuck an Apple USB keyboard in the same USB slots for these headsets and that works fine. Has anyone tried another kind of USB headset, other than the two offered here, using one of the two USB ports in the front of your PS2? That would be good to know for sure. Because there are other quality USB headsets out there. I would be willing to bet that if SONY's PS2 website doesn't specifically endorse any headset, under the heading of "hardware" then, other headsets are up for grabs. If you know for certain, and have actually tested this theory, post here, please! ... Read more

Editorial Review

Look out, Game Boy Color. When it comes to serious portable gameplay, there's finally some legitimate competition for the popular Nintendo system (which has sold over 80 million units). If you dare to be different, consider the NEOGEO Pocket Color, a hand-held system created by the Japanese company SNK.

The screen is 10 percent bigger than Game Boy's, but the overall machine has roughly the same convenient pocket-sized dimensions and light weight as the Game Boy. The NEOGEO Pocket Color provides up to 40 hours of continuous fun on just two AA batteries. The 16-bit graphics are crystal clear--making it easy to tell the difference between humans and animals, friends and foes, and walls and doors--and easily viewed in both bright and dim lighting. The color palette has three times the range of its competitor's, with 146 possible shades. There is also a built-in calendar, daily horoscope, alarm clock, and global clock that can be accessed even without a game cartridge in the slot. Two players can go head-to-head with a simple cable connection (sold separately). NEOGEO is available in six different casing colors: silver, clear, blue, ocean blue, stone blue, and anthracite.

The only drawback is that NEOGEO is new and, therefore, playing catch-up to Nintendo's well-stocked list of titles, which boasts A-list offerings such as Super Mario Brothers, Pokémon Pinball, and Tetris. But SNK scores points for the few titles that it does offer for the system. Among the better titles for NEOGEO are Dragons Wild video poker, arcade classicsBust-A-Move and Pac-Man, and your basic serve-and-volley Pocket Tennis. Most of these games are pretty addictive and perfectly suited to the well-designed, thumb-friendly, eight-position joystick. --Carrie Bell

Pros:

  • Better graphics than other portable players
  • Very good visibility in bright sun and dim light
  • Variety of fun colors
Cons:
  • No Pokémon titles yet
  • Response of the joystick isn't the best on games (such as Crush Roller) that require sharp, quick turns

4-0 out of 5 stars Neo-geo pocket
I love the neo-geo pocket. It's very fun.As soon as it came to me I opened it.I LOVE THE NEO-GEO POCKET.BY THE WAY IT IS WAY BETTER THAN A GAMEBOY

4-0 out of 5 stars Better Than GBC
I just was given to keep(and fix)from my cousin.I mastered Sonic after playing it on the SEGA Genesis.Samurai Showdown and King of Fighters. It's 10 times a Gameboy/GBC even htough it dont gots pokemon. But it aint no GBA

4-0 out of 5 stars GET THIS AT ALL COSTS!
THIS IS A KILLER SYSTEM!I suggest you get this system over Gameboy color any day!The graphics are much better and the games kick!It has a world clock, alarm, and a horascope... This is a must have!

4-0 out of 5 stars The excellence of the underdog
This is the greatest portable gaming system every made. The joystick provides amazing response to your movements and isn't so loose to be unstable (like the N64 controller). The screen is HUGE, for a portablesystem, and it's small enough to fit into your pocket, but big enough to becomfortable to hold. The software selection is also excellent, as you cansee from all the other reviews. All in all, if you need (or justdesire...) a portable gaming system, this is the one to get.No other"Game Boy Color" can beat the quality OR performance of thisbaby.

4-0 out of 5 stars Finally, a pocket system worth carrying!
I don't know how they did it but SNK made a game system this old arcade rat loves.Forget the game boys, Neo Geo Pocket is a real grown-up with the power to deliver graphics, game play and great feel in a walkman-sizedpackage.Try Dragons Wild or Bust a Move and you'll see why this is thebest value in its class. ... 133. Nintendo GameCube Console - Legend of Zelda Bundle - Black

Amazon.com Review

This special Nintendo GameCube bundle includes four complete classic Zelda games on one disc: The Legend of Zelda, Zelda II: The Adventure of Link, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, and The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask. The disc also includes a playable demo for The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, a short retrospective history of the Zelda series, and gameplay footage highlights from The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker.

Though it looks like a toy, don't be fooled: the Nintendo GameCube is a powerful video game console that rightly deserves its place among the other next-generation game systems. In fact, its playful, appealing design and small size (the unit is a not-quite-cubed 6 inches) aren't the only features that set it apart from the others.

For starters, Nintendo has quite clearly made this a game-only machine. It doesn't try to play your CD collection, run your movies, read your e-mail, or store your MP3 files. The company has concentrated its efforts on games. All the prelaunch titles we've seen play smoothly, with bright, fast graphics and great sound. Nintendo says its engineers have removed traditional bottlenecks that have, in the past, slowed down processing. New components designed by IBM and MoSys, as well as a large-capacity secondary memory cache, keep instructions moving through the system's microprocessor (MPU) at peak levels. In English: the GameCube is optimized to push speed up while pushing costs down; hence its position at the lower end of the price spectrum.

The GameCube is the first Nintendo video game system to use a disc-based medium rather than cartridges for its games. Moving the software to disc media generally means lower development costs for the publishers, which, in turn, trickles down to the consumer not only in price, but also in availability and quality, as it's then easier to try out untested game ideas (Pikmin, anyone?). While most other systems likewise have their games stored on discs, the GameCube's 3-inch format is smaller than everyone else's, and is so designed to fit in a shirt pocket as much as to deter would-be software pirates.

Of course, the main advantage of the GameCube is that it's the home field of one of the world's premier game designers: Nintendo. While powerhouses Electronic Arts and Sega make games for all systems (including this one), you can play Nintendo games only on a Nintendo system. And Nintendo, you might recall, has been hitting them out of the park since it started with Donkey Kong. In fact, here's a roll call of characters and series you won't find on the other consoles: Mario, Legend of Zelda, Perfect Dark, Metroid, Kirby, and, of course, Pokémon. A few names that the GameCube will share with the other guys: Madden, Tony Hawk, Sonic, Batman, and Star Wars.

The system also comes with four built-in controller ports, so you can easily plug in extra controllers and let friends join in for the multiplayer games--it's even got a built-in handle so you can easily move it to a friend's house. It comes with two memory card slots for saving your progress through games, and there's the capacity for future expansion into the world of online gaming.

In short, the GameCube isn't an all-in-one entertainment system, and neither is it the most powerful of the modern video game consoles. But for video game enthusiasts who want to stick with their favorite characters, its value cannot be beat. --Porter B. Hall

5-0 out of 5 stars Xbox is great but the GameCube is BETTER!!!
I have almost all the systems! From NES, SNES, N64, Sega Genesis, Saturn, PS, PS2, Xbox and now a GameCube....Anyways, I am a BIG fan of the xbox! The xbox is great; however, the nintendo gamecube does have more games than the xbox. The GameCube is also (in my opinion) better than the xbox.Graphics, Sound and all that compares to the xbox BUT the games you can get for the GameCube are WAY, WAY better than the games you can get for the xbox.I am not putting down the xbox down!!Believe me I love games like Halo and Fable BUT those games seem to be easier and quicker (maybe not so much of Fable) than games like Metroid Prime, Metroid Prime 2: Echos, Resident Evil 0,1,2,3 and RE4!!!

Anyways, I love the fact that Nintendo offers the old Zelda's, Resident Evils, ect on the Gamecube! That is a great idea and I hope they do the same for Metroid games. You can also get a a GBA or a Nintendo DS and connect to your GameCube and play GBA/Nintendo DS games. So, in essence you can playNES, SNES, N64 games on the GameCube.

All in all, Microsoft has alot to prove before ANYONE can say that the xbox is better than the GameCube!!!!Sorry xbox fans, but whats true is true!!

5-0 out of 5 stars The best
Four of the best video games.Ever.On Earth.

(Note, however, most sellers do not include the Gamecube system with purchase.Usually it is the game disc only.Read the item descriptions.)

1-0 out of 5 stars very misleading
i think the way this is advertised you are to believe that you are getting a console.then when you try to buy it it's just games.you should not picture it like that.also in the first description it says console.this is very misleading in fact it is false advertisement!i am very dissapointed!!!!!!!!!!

1-0 out of 5 stars deception
The advertised item is not what you get. It says this is the came console and legend of zelda bundle, but all you get is the legend of zelda game bundle. I was very disappointed in this seller.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Console (with One of the Best Games of All Time)
If you don't yet have a Gamecube, this bundle is the perfect introduction to a superb gaming console. The Gamecube doesn't play DVDs or CDs, it just does what it does very very well, showcasing some of the best games you'll play on any system anywhere. Graphically, Gamecube games look great, play fast, and (in most cases) without the load times or lags that can so detract from the gaming experience. And the system is incredibly easy to work with and to hook up -- it literally takes a few minutes, tops.

This special Zelda package makes the perfect introduction to the Gamecube platform because it includes one of the finest games I've ever played (Zelda: The Ocarina of Time), now seamlessly integrated into the Gamecube environment. I'd highly recommend this particular system purchase just for the classic Zelda games alone -- in addition to OOT and other classic Link games, Majora's Mask is almost as much fun, although it's got a different feel to it, and isn't quite as seamlessly adapted into the Gamecube platform (as a transfer from the earlier platform, the game's resolution is noticeably less sharp than other Gamecube games, but it's amazing how beautiful the game still is -- and how fast you get used to it).

Other Zelda enthusiasts already know what I'm talking about -- these games manage to be smart, fun, adventurous, creative, exciting, and even humorous, all while maintaining a feeling of magic, wonder and innocence that is very very hard to capture in a game or to describe. That Ocarina of Time is able to do so is a small miracle in itself, and it does so in a rather dark and brooding fairytale environment that may surprise players who only know Zelda from the cheery cel animation of Windwaker (but I much prefer this 'classic' look myself, and was psyched to hear that Nintendo is returning to this look for the next Zelda title).

In Ocarina of Time, a young boy must save the world (Hyrule), discover his own gifts, and literally and figuratively grow to manhood. The game plays with the entire concept of time, both in its puzzles and storyline, as well as in the Ocarina, the magical instrument Link uses as a powerful resource in the game. The world Link must explore and save is beautifully rendered -- from majestic mountains, to eerie lava dungeons and icebound caves, to genuinely creepy graveyards and wastelands. The dungeons and environments Link must explore are fastidiously rendered and very detailed (and are far more complex than those in Windwaker) -- by the end of the game you'll feel like you explored a place that actually exists.

The characters Link meets are complex, funny, and brave, and Link's companion in his quests, the horse Epona, is a standout. The horse doesn't simply team up with Link, but must first be met, fed, tamed, raced, and won!Only after a series of challenging (but very do-able) tasks does Epona become Link's noble steed, and the experience of riding Epona over the fields of Hyrule, leaping fences and battling bad guys, is one of the most truly poignant gaming experiences I've ever had. (And yes I know that sentence makes me a huge geek. But I wear it proudly.)

OOT does have some surprisingly scary and creepy elements (especially in the "later" and more grown-up time period of Link's play), but for young teens and up, it's easily a game for all ages, one that will enchant adults as easily as kids.As always with Zelda, gameplay is seamless and easy to get used to, and the game introduces the player to his or her controls so seamlessly that most will never need to read the manual. And also as usual, Link's battles are never just button-mashers, but instead offer a creative variety of swordplay and battle options.

And these are just a few examples of how rich the Zelda universe is, and how much thought has gone into every puzzle and character of the game -- there are dozens more. After playing dozens of games for the Gamecube, Ocarina of Time is still a 10 for me -- by far the best game I've ever played to date. By the time you're done, Hyrule is more than a game environment, it's a fantastical universe, and one that feels as real as Middle-Earth, or Narnia, or Earthsea. Enjoy your visit there -- you won't forget it. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars great model small enough for SP models of GBA
ok i own a older model from a company not really affiliated with nintendo, it works ok for the older GBAs, but i also own a GBA/SP model and it jams the sholder buttons. this model directly from nintendo is small enough to fit between the buttons on a SP model *great for Zelda:FSA *Four Swords Adventures* and still big enough to fit on the older models.

5-0 out of 5 stars It makes a HUGE difference...
When it comes to the GC/GBA Cable. You wouldnt think that something this inexpensive could make a difference in the way you play video games. But it does it unlocks secrets of all kinds in Gamecube games, sometimes it gives you access to secret areas/maps/items and various other thing.

Depending on the game and what features it opens up.Plus it is cheap to get and once you've gotten this wonderful item. You will wonder why you didnt get it sooner.I know from my own experience.

4-0 out of 5 stars advance cable
The Nintendo GC/GB Advance Cable adds some new features to some of its systems' most popular games. Although I do not own every game this item enhances, I do own a few.

From what I have played (Animal Crossing, Pokemon, Harvest Moon, ect) this product has provided just a little more fun. Although it is not a gaming essential, die-hard Nintendo fans of both the portable and non-portable systems will definitely want to buy this item and explore new options provided by the cable.

4-0 out of 5 stars Very good
It's a very good product but it only can be shipped within U.S., so I can't buy it

5-0 out of 5 stars a suggestion
if you plan on getting at least two of these i suggest you buy final fantasy crystal chronicles and then how ever many more of these you need because the game comes with a FREE gamecube/gba cable...and then the game rox anyways =) *obviously* only get this if you have a game boy advance (or the person your giving it to has 1 =D) ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Very good controller, Don't fear buying this controller
I had seen reviews of apparently the PL-2050's forerunner and they were very poor. (Both the reviews and apparently the product too) But, the PL-2050 is a very nice controller. It feels a lot like the stock xbox controller, in both quality and function. I think I like the button location better on the PL-2050 than the stock controller and there is no noticeable lag Vs the wired controller.

The only "con" I can come up with for the PL-2050 is that I wish the RF receiver had a slightly longer cord. But, that is a very minor complaint.

I am tempted to get a second PL-2050 so my 1 year daughter will not have any cords to pull on. :-)

For the $ you can not beat this controller for a wireless controller.

5-0 out of 5 stars A good product for the money
I have had XBox for just over a year and have been impressed. The controllers were one of my favorite parts and this Pelican does not disappoint.

I have owned the Pelican Spirit wireless controller and was angered by the poor quality. I got this shortly after, having seen better reviews and here is my assessment of the controller overall:

Ergonomics: Excellent - the XBox contoller-S is perfect for me and this is very nearly the same thing

Lag: Excellent - nearly none whatsoever - 2.4 ghz transmitter ensures this

Functionality: Very Good - buttons are placed almost exactly the same - added white/black buttons are a bit superfluous and hard to reach though for smaller hands. Dual rumble packs are pretty good, but not as strong as the controller-s

Craftsmanship: Excellent - very well made - I have dropped it a few times with no problems whatsoever (had a problem with this with the Spirit)

Connection: Excellent - even with things in the way, the connection stays strong - auto frequency hopping keeps a strong signal for a good distance

Battery Life: Very Good - as with all wireless controllers, the battery life is by no means spectacular, but surpasses my other wireless controllers. have yet to change batteries

Overall: Excellent - for only $30, this is one of the least expensive wireless controllers. It's a well-made controller that serves its function very well. For the money, it's the best controller I've seen yet.
