5-0 out of 5 stars please help me.....
i realllllly want xbox live (but i dont have an xbox). I'm thinking seriously about purchasing an xbox with the xbox live starter kit and a few live games. but i need to know something. if i buy this adapter, what else do i need? if my computer is upstairs and the xbox will be downstairs, do i need this and a wireless router and an adapter for the pc? or just this and a router? or just this? or something more? PLEASE answer my question, it could mean you have a new competitor on xbox live.

5-0 out of 5 stars Works Great - No Lag
I was skeptical at first about this, seeing as how I had never gone wireless before. However, this adapter really works and there is not a spot of lag. Actually, I was having more lag problems when I was directly connected to a modem.

Linksys offers an alternative to this called a game adapter. It is the same price and I imagine that it works just as well. Don't make the mistake of trying to save money and buying another router or an access point, it won't work.

5-0 out of 5 stars XBOX LIVE WIRELESS ADAPTER
Excellent so easy to set up less than 1 minurt i was registering for xbox live recomend it for all.

5-0 out of 5 stars Took a while
well i tryied to get on to xbox live the ip and all that stuff was ok so i didn't really know what to do.So basically i upgraded the adapter's firmware Heres the link http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/broadbandnetworking/10_DLoadMain.mspx microsoft should make it easier to find stuff basically what you do is you plug in the wireless adapter to your ethernet port and install the file and it will detect and update your firmware.I tried that and it didn't work so i also updated my linksys WRT54G's firmware and it worked heres the link for that http://www.linksys.com/download/firmware.asp?fwid=201
great product after the updates its full 54mbps at two floors below

5-0 out of 5 stars The Solution
We recently relocated my son's X-box paraphernellia to a kids-only area in our basement. This has been a great arrangement for everyone except we were unable to let him use the family Internet connection anymore to play his X-box games online. Well we could have strung ethernet cable from one end of the house to the other, but that wasn't an option.

Enter the X-Box Wireless G Adapter.

Well, actually, first came the the Lyksys Wireless B game adapter ($63.53, Wal Mart), which did not work after hours of goofing around with configuration, numerous calls to their outsourced tech support in New Delhi and a royal headache. Although I suspect that it could have worked with the right techno incantations, I finaly realized that saving a few bucks was not worth all the time. I took it back and ordered the Mirosoft adapter ($99.99, Game Spot, via Amazon, $7.49 S&H) and made myself at home in the age of wireless.

As other reviewers have mentioned, this thing is ridiculously easy to set up. I just plugged it in, it detected my wireless network, IP adresses and all that rigamorole and TA DAH. My son says he experiences no lag and the connection is totally reliable and I've not noticed any problems using the Internet while my son is playing on line.

For you gear heads here. My service provider (QWEST) offers a wireless broadcasting DSL modem (basically it acts as a wireles router would). All I had to do was get into the hood and turn the wireless mode on and set up a 64-bit (or 128-bit) WEP key, which already had done while I was futily trying to get the Linksys adapter to work. Security options on the X-box interface were easy to find and after I typed in the WEP key, the X-box (or the adapter) did all the rest.

You'll save a lot of time and headaches just going with the Microsoft gear in this case.

5-0 out of 5 stars The greatest online invention ever to hit consoles!!!!!!!!!!
This is the greatest thing I have ever seen. Xbox live is a great way to take your gaming online because it works with numerous amounts of games and is something you can never get bored with. A little too much, but every penny is worth it. The new revolutionary way of communicating over the internet is phenomenal. People actually talking into a headset together while they are playing.

More features about xbox live is the fact you can create a gamers tag, which is just any silly name that pops into your head with also an optional voice sensor. This allows your voice to sound anything you want it to. It is the coolest and funniest thing alive.

The people online are very friendly and helpful, but sometimes you get those people who do not give a dang about rookies. People who just bought this item; stay absolutely away from Halo 2 for right now. The people in the multiplayer matches will slaughter you in seconds. Take it from me. One minute the enemy is vanished and the next minute they are wacking you over the head with their gun.

You have the choice of a yearly renewal or monthly. Im not sure how much the monthly is, but the yearly is fiftly bucks, which is well worth it.

There is only one slight problem with xbox live. If you do not have internet connection from the room you are playing in, then it may become costly. You would have to get a game adapter, a wireless modem, and a bunch of other connections. This alone boosts the price up to somewhere you cannot afford.

All in all, this product is fabulous and recommend it to people who feel lonely playing with AI all the time. Isn't time for another challenge. Maybe someone that is actually real and can be more of a challenge.

You decide.

5-0 out of 5 stars This RULES but bundle with a new game already, PLEASE!
Before I get to all the good stuff. It would be nice if XBOX bundled with a different game already!!!We all have that game, we all need another headset, we all need to renew. So bundle with a new game!(I realize this needs to be said to XBOX not Amazon, but they probably read these reviews.)

XBOX Live is the greatest thing that ever happened to video games! You will find your self not even finishing games because online play is so much fun and addicting. No matter how sophisticated developers make the ai, it can never compare to human intelligence and challenge. After playing online you will go back to the game campaign with new skill.Xbox live adds an infinite amount of life to games. Some games have a much more advanced Live experience then others, ie. Halo2 with matchmaking and ranking systems, that really adds to the experience and playability.

Guarantee...You will spend way too much time playing Live! The house could catch fire and you will not put the controller down. You will find yourself thinking about yesterdays matches while you should be thinking about your work/school.You will be so wired, sleeping is just not an option.Your sex life will go down the tubes, unless she plays Live with you (let her win, and don't tell her she sucks.)You will forget you have kids.Dinner, what for? What day is it? Yes this will happen to you.

Be aware (in all games) for cheaters and those that taunt, swear and spray racist comments. This is a problem with the Human race not XBOX Live. Some people can really get carried away and ruin the experience for all of us.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Reason For Buying Halo 2
Now I got xbox live back in 2003 but I never really saw a reason to use it
In November 2004
I recived a package in the mail
as soon as I opened it I screamed at the top of my lungs HALO 2!
I started to play it and it was so fun
but there was something missing
something that didnt feel right
And as soon as I could put my finger on it I knew what it was
Xbox L.I.V.E. (Livin In Virtual Ectasy)
I rushed and found my microphone and all of my stuff
and the rest is history
Now alot of people says that halo 2 story mode was pretty bad
and right away u have to know that
theyve never played xbox live
with xbox live
ur halo 2 experience is
complete
the friends list is in all live games
but it doesnt work as well in other games
than it does in halo 2
buy it
and ull see the reason
why xbox rules

4-0 out of 5 stars Great deal, but get a better headset
I just bought this package for my first experience with X-box Live.I love the network (although the level of discourse isn't always that high). The inclusion of a $20 game (Crimson Skies) was a great addition to the one year subscription. While some might complain it's an older game, being new to the X-box, I'd never played it.

The only complaint I had was the headset.I find it very hard to wear. It's hard to keep it behind my ears when I'm wearing my glasses.Because the wrap-around portion is one size fits all and extends back so far, I can't sit back in a chair with a headrest without knocking the headset off.Just generally I'm not impressed with the headset.

5-0 out of 5 stars must get it!!!!!
Oh my god!!! i have been wanting xbox live now for some time, but had never played it. well i just played it at my friend's house and it is great!!! 10 thumbs up!!! I must get this!!! But mostly because Halo 2 was really fun! ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Ignition 2.0 Incompatible with Xbox
I've gone through three Ignition 2.0 Dance Pads with our Xbox and the down arrow eventually stops working properly. If you press the down arror while you have foot on the left or right arrow, the down arrow won't register. We've had three pads in 4 months and the same problem keeps happening.Called RedOctane Customer Support and they admitted that there is a bug with their pad and Xbox.I'm stuck because the pad is outside of the warranty period. The kids love the pad EXCEPT the down arrow.Basically, don't get this pad unless you're using PS2.BTW, Konami pad that came with DDR2 has been rock solid.

1-0 out of 5 stars Lasted for awhile . . .
These were awesome for awhile. I have two, and one stopped working altogether within a few months and the other one sort of works. The buttons start to stick, which makes it frustrating to play when you keep getting a bad score after you know you did well. I hope they come out with something better. For a good price would be a bonus.

1-0 out of 5 stars Very poor construction results in useless product
I purchased one of these pads a month and a half before christmas as a gift.Everyone loved it at first and we purchased a second pad so two people could play at once.Within 20 days after christmas, the first pad started demonstating operation problems: buttons not functioning when pressed and buttons sticking.About a month and a half after we purchased the second one, it too started showing the same problems. We purchased these pads in large part to the excellent reviews here.Apparently, these reviews were in reaction to the version 1 pad which appears to have a much longer life.At $100 a pad, having them die within a month or two seems like a huge rip-off.100% failure rate within a few months is way too high.I'd suggest looking for another pad rather than purchasing this one.

4-0 out of 5 stars Wouldn't recommend for over 250 lbs. person.
This pad is great, I even bought a second one. I like them almost better than the real arcade hard pads. They have excellent response times.

The only thing I noticed is one of the pads right button doesn't work as well* anymore because one of my freinds who is 350 lbs. used it. For this reason I wouldn't recommend the pad for users near 300 lbs. However, I weight almost 250 and they haven't had a problem.

*as well meaning it still works most of the time but doesn't always respond.

5-0 out of 5 stars By far the best dance pad for the Xbox/PS2 Console!
This is by far the best dance dance revolution dance pad up to date. Its $100, so its pretty pricy, but its definetely worth it. I even think its better then the metal $500 dance pads. The reason is because no doubt, the metal dance pad is more stable, but the thing is that it breaks in a year maximum. I've had this cheaper one for about two years and it hasn't broken yet.

When you first get it, you have to put it together, its kind of like a jigsaw puzzle in some terms. It can be kind of frustrating if you have no experience in making a jigsaw puzzle, but its kind of fun at the same time. Its one of those things where your really proud of once you've made it. Its really not that hard to put together. The only problem is that some of the pieces have been mishaped a little bit in the package, so it makes it harder to put together. But at least it doesn't break apart, if it did, then that would be a reason to get the metal dance pad.

The thing that differs the red octane ignition dance pad from the other $20-$50 dance pads is that its much more stable and has more of a grip on the ground so it doesn't slide when you dance, especially when your playing on heavy difficulty, if its sliding all over the place on the ground, it can be extremely hard to use. I first got the $20 dance pad, soon to return it a week later, because i found that there was just no point in using it, especially when you wan't to play on ranked games online, the kind of dance pad that you use matters a lot.

The one only problem with this dance pad is that it only has the A and B buttons, leaving the bottom two areas blank on the pad. I think they should have added y/x or the other two buttons for the ps2 seeing that it can be used for both the xbox and the ps2. Thats another good thing about this dance pad.

The last great thing about this is that the cable cord is long so that if you have your xbox/ps2 elevated on an upper object, you can still hook this wonderful dance pad up with no difficulty whatsoever.

In conclusion, i definetely think that this is the best dance pad up to date, and will be the best quality dance pad that you will pay for.

4-0 out of 5 stars Worth Buying, But Wont Last Forever
This configuration is definitely an improvement over the original controller. You're thumbs wont have to streatch for those white and black buttons. Also, they buttons are flat instead of rounded, so you wont start hurting after punching them hard after a while like the old ones. The only thing that sucks about these is the joysticks are made of hard, sharp-edged pieces under a thin rubber cover, whereas the old ones used one round plastic piece. What happens is that, after you've been pushing the joysticks back and forth for a while, the sharp under piece cuts through the rubber (I hate it when I tear my rubbers) and starts cutting into your thumb. It should last you about 6 months to a year before they tear apart.

5-0 out of 5 stars Notice something...
This is probably the most comfortable controller for the xbox on the market- if you're just starting to play the xbox. The original controller was way too freakishly huge, (says me, and every xbox review i've seen), but the S seems just right. The greatest testiment to this is the fact that they don't even sell the big ones anymore.

The only people i wouldn't recommend this controller to are people who are already used to the tank-of-a controller that the originals came with. The two controllers, while they look similar at first, have a completely different feel, and it won't be anything like you're used to.Just look at the other reviews. The only people who gave the S a bad review (1 star, 2 stars) are people who have gotten themselves used to the original.

5-0 out of 5 stars Good Controller
There really isn't much to say about this controller other than it's just as reliable as the origional Xbox controller, except smaller. Now for me this just happens to make all the difference in the world. The normal sized Xbox controller was much too big.I don't happen to have the largest hands in the world and that controller was uncomfortable and difficult to use.The S controller fits much better and is less painful to use.Plus I can't blaim the controller anymore for sucking so bad at a game.

5-0 out of 5 stars Why the heck am I writing a reveiw for a controller... IDIOT
okay first of all small controllers rock big ones are too big and smalls pause, back, black, and white buttons are in a better position , big ones however are both high on the topand way in the middle of the thing the s controller way the buttons are right next to your thumb in an easy to remember place I am saving for an xbox, xbox live , counter strike, fable, halo2 ,carrying case, and an extra controller right now i play my bros box I play counterstrike all the time when ever he lets me I was playing the game onces with this guy named suicide maniac (good guy played and talked for 3 hours on humans vs bots) after playing he offered to be my freind on the game my bro let me say yeah (say yeah like little john) he knows I was on my bros x box and he knows me as InFer0 1337 my bros name but when i get the xbox no way that will not be my name it will be Spullkrum (dont ask about the name there is other weirder names out there and this one isnt theres names like nekuska and crap like that) he wont recognize me at first but i will explane and he will beleive me by my strange atatude and to prove I am the the guy he knows I will talk about the stuff that went on between us for instance some guy named chumb kept kill killing us on cs (it was a bots vs humans game so he was on our team) we killed him on the beggining of each game before he got us me and suicide were freinds with another guy i thing hi name was the chuck and there was another guy cant remeber his name though eventually chumb ran away from us he ran into the groop of bots(who are programed to stick together in a big group) and he got slaughterd helplessly (the freak) any way small rocks BIGGYS SUCK!!!!!! (by the way i'm shorter than most my freinds by 4 inchs.) :) (I am NOT a girl this is my moms e mail address)

5-0 out of 5 stars A very reliable Xbox controller
There are many gamers who tend to carp about the size of the Xbox controller. If their hands are too small then I tell them to go play PS2 or stop complaining. I think the old Xbox controllers were a bit big, but these new ones are just fine.

The controller itself is excellent and has many buttons that give you a lot of control. I really like how the triggers are positioned, and how there are two joysticks. The buttons feel like quality materials, and don't make noisy sounds when you press them. Once you get used to these controllers you will really like them and then you'll find PS controllers to be small. These controllers come with long cords that let you sit pretty far away (about 9 ft), so I would discourage purchasing a wireless controller that may not operate correctly and will take batteries. Why do you want to stray away from the TV anyway? You may not see the TV well enough when playing Halo. Plus wireless controllers drain your batteries. So stick with this classic controller and you will not be disappointed. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Perfect Blue
Anybody out there with a controller hog who perhaps gets your controller sticky or messy or does something to it you don't even want to know about? Different colored controllers are the key to solving this problem. Mr. Messy has his and you have yours! It works out awesome! I love my teal green controller and he loves his blue one! You also get a year warranty, which comes in the box with this controller, in between the yellow cardboard so if there is a problem with in a year they will fix your controller. Anyway it is the same size as the ones that come with your original PS2. The buttons are the same, they move the same, and feel the same. The only difference is the color, but still it's worth it to get a nice new non-sticky controller and to get your self some distance from that controller hog. I love this one, they also make a teal colored one, and I have seen a sponge bob controller out there as well but if its not made by Sony its probably not that reliable. Stick with the best, get a Sony controller and get in the game!

5-0 out of 5 stars The original
This is the original Playstation controller, and it is the best. It feels great in your hands, not too heavy, best button response, and overall just the best controller you can buy. If you have been thinking about buying a controller with a different feeling I strongly reccommend do not buy the big Mad Catz controller. It does not feel good in your hands, its too big and heavy, and the button response sucks. Just stick with the Sony controler, it is the best of the best.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Controller
I agree with Kelly, you must take care of the controller.I own 6 ps2 controllers 3 black,1 blue,1 wireless logitech and a nyko airflo controller.I use the multitap very often.Love the controller and it will love you back! Now for the review. This controller does not feel as comfortable as the black one. When I am playing and my hands sweat this controller slips out of my hand.I end uptaking my black controller and using it.But i love playing with this controller because it is fun for me to look at it during the loading screen. But if your hands sweat a lot or you play for long periods of time I suggest that you look for the nyko airflo controller its great!!Also I have a friend that is very rough with his controllers and he has dropped his black controller many times and it is still working but he dropped the blue controller and it broke

1-0 out of 5 stars dual shock controller
the Blue dual shock controller work on everything except you can not enter cheat codes with it

4-0 out of 5 stars Because you don't want to make your friends sick
When I first went shopping for a second controller for my GameCube, I admit I was looking for one that matched my Platinum Edition controller. I couldn't find one that wasn't a Wavebird (nothing wrong with a Wavebird - the wireless controller - that I know of, but I was just too cheap to spend the extra $10). So I bought a black controller to match my TV. Now that I think about it, buying a different controller was a smart thing to do. Why didn't I plan on that in the first place? I spent part of the winter battling a cold or the flu at various times, and I can't underestimate the importance of controlling the spread of viruses and bacteria. Having different-colored controllers makes it easier to remember which controller I've been using in between nose-blowing sessions. When a housemate or friend wants to play GameCube as I lay suffering on the other couch, I am able to croak out the words "use the black one today. Trust me."

I also have a phobia against third-party hardware - so it's good of Nintendo (not to mention profitable for Nintendo) to sell spare parts.

The most important things about a controller are: does it fit comfortably in your hand, and are the buttons easy to find and use? The only thing I don't like is the placement of the Z button. The cord is plenty long, and the buttons are responsive enough. I also like that they're color-coded.

5-0 out of 5 stars original will always work the best
This is a great controller, and it rumbles (unlike the wireless one).Yeah, it WILL wear down with time, but it is by far one of the better controllers because it doesn't ruin your GameCube and it's more durable that third-party ones (AKA those NOT liscenced by Nintendo).I first had a third-party GCN controller and for some reason, it stopped my GameCube from reading discs. I had to get it repaired. If anything, if you want a good controller, don't go for third party stuff.Go for the original like this, as for one: they last MUCH longer and two, they don't ruin your hardware. It may look plain, but it would be better to have a plain working controller rather than a quickly defective pretty one. Also, the official wireless if good, if you don't mind the lack of a rumble.

5-0 out of 5 stars misunderstood
This controller is great. Nice feel and all. But, it does tend to move to one side on its own. Many people think it is the controller, but if you read in the manual, it clearly states that when the gamecube is turned on with the joystick to one side, that will be the base for the controller. This can be fixed by simultaneously holding Y+X+START. Great controller, for an easy 5 stars!

5-0 out of 5 stars Quality
Why mess with the original. There are a lot of phonies and copycat controllers that you can get for a discount. You get what you pay for.I have several of the standard ones like this and they are quality. In addition the controls for the Gamecube are similar enough to other Nintendo products so you won't have to learn a completely new system.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great
I have had mine for four months and nothing has gone wrong. All my friends have complained about their head sets from other companies, but this one works really well.

2-0 out of 5 stars Worthless piece of junk
I only got about four hours of use out of the headset before the plastic piece that holds the earphone on it broke. This thing is a piece of garbage.

If you need a headset for Live do yourself a favor and don't buy Microsoft's.If you're just getting onto X-Box Live you'll be better off buying seperate a subscription card and a third party headset than buying the X-Box Live starter kit.

2-0 out of 5 stars Nice Headset, but needs improvement
Well, this headset looks cool, but really, it's very cheap. Mine has not broken yet, but it is on the verge of breaking. As everyone else said, these are very fragile, and uncomfortable. The plastic is very flimsy. Sound quality is good, and it has a sound control too, so if someone is screaming, and you can't mute them at the moment, you can turn your volume down until you can mute him. The headset comes in three pieces, the microphone and speaker, headgear, and Headset to controller connecter (which looks sort of like a memory card). I would recommend you buy the Plantronics GameCon Halo 2 headset over this one, because it is more comfortable, and bit more durable. It surpasses this headset by far.

1-0 out of 5 stars it's crap
i read a review of 1 guy having 3 broken ones. about a week ago i broke my third headset... i was so disgusted. I took good care of it, but the little plastic piece that everyone talks about finally broke. Everything about this headset is perfect except for 2 things. 1: some of the headsets have weak hold on where the microphone holds up. This means every time you put on this headset you might have to adjust it... and it's annoying because it's a loose adjust. 2: The infamous piece of plastic that everyone who has a broken headset knows about. It's a console headset yet they make it like it's on your computer desktop. Screw you, microsoft! 30 dollars for this piece of junk. I had to put a screw in my other 2 headsets now they work great.

If you get this headset, take good care of it. Leave it in the SAME SPOT every single time you put down your controller. That's the only way you're going to keep it alive for more than a year. Know where it is at all times.

1-0 out of 5 stars Fragile
The clip that attaches the earpiece to the headband just broke on mine after dropping it on the carpet...Same thing happened to a family members.Sure, it's stylish, but go with an alternative. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Does the trick
I've had DVD players come and go, so its kinda cool to have a gaming console that plays dvd's too.Yeah, I know the PS2 has that capability without a remote, I have one of those too.But one of the cool things I noticed about the X Box playback kit is that the remote looks just like the ones made by RCA. I tried a few of the controls on the DVD funtion of my RCA universal remote, low and behold it worked.Kinda a hand thing, I've got to many remotes floting around as it is, so that part was nice.Mine works great, I use it instead of having to re-arrange my already overpacked entertainment center to put in my other DVD player.

5-0 out of 5 stars Very good
I found this product good, i have no problems with it what so ever. some people say just buy a dvd player but then you have more wires in the back of your tv. Also if you want your x box and dvd player to go into one suround sound or stereo the is great cause you get to have a dvd player and a x box in one wire going into the speakers. this is also great if you dont want to spend any more money on buying another dvd player and you already have a xbox. i have my xbox upstairs with the dvd adapter, and a dvd player down stairs so if i want a change of secnery.

i love my xbox and it's adapter i have no problem with the remote either.

2-0 out of 5 stars Get only if you don't have a stand alone DVD player already
"Hey kids, fire up the XBOX and lets watch this movie!"

That is what is heard through households that own an XBOX but for some reason or another they are still in the 90's and don't already have a DVD player.

Like my title suggests, if you already have a DVD player, this is a waste of money. The only reason I purchased one is because my DVD player had problems playing some DVD-R's that I got from a friend. I had some money to burn so I just wanted to see if the XBOX DVD kit could play it to determine if the DVD was a bad burn or was it just my DVD player. I found that the XBOX was able to play the DVD-R's in question with no problem. However, aside from those two DVD-R's, all of the DVD's I own are bought from retail stores, so I really have no need to play DVD-R's, and my DVD player plays normal discs perfectly.

With that being said, I only used XBOX's DVD playback kit once to watch the DVD-R's I had problems with. Because of the content of these burned "movies", there is really no need to watch them again....... However if push comes to shove I can always use one of my PC's or Mac to watch the burned DVD; no need to use my XBOX for that. I meant to return the DVD kit the next day, but never got around to it.

The XBOX's DVD player is a good feature, but the fact that Microsoft charges you to use the feature makes it not worth the money.....unless of course you don't have a DVD player at all.

1-0 out of 5 stars Broke after 20 minutes
My only experience with this product was after I opened it, and started to play a DVD in my Xbox, when I tried to pause it, it didn't work, and it had brand new batteries. I found (after much frustration) that if I smacked it against my hand a few times then it would work for about 2 minutes. I took it back to exchange for another in hopes that it was just a bad unit, but it was sold out so I just got my money back. You can buy a DVD player for not much more than this way overpriced piece of junk costs.

1-0 out of 5 stars ATTENTION
DO NOT USE THIS
the dvd thing causesthe xbox to break. when u play games the disk doesnt constantly spin. it reads some and takes break so it doesnt over heat. when it reads a dvd, it must constantly spin. the dvd playback kit fryed my xbox. at most "best buy"s you can buy a dvdplayer that functions better for less money than the one for xbox. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Better Than PS2
I have played every type of system on the market with exception of the PSP, and have found that the XBOX Controller S is the most comfortable of the curent controls. The White, and Black buttons are rather dificult to use (especialy in a first person shooter like Doom 3). The start and back buttons are almost as difficult but most games don't use them as major buttons in game play.

The grips are the perfect size and the plastic is of a high enough quality that it wont break under normal use (excesive pressure will break it). There is room for two more buttons above the left and right trigers posably a place that would be better suited for the White and Black buttons. The PS2 has the Left and Right Buttons/Trigers (aka: L1, L2, R1, and R2) it would be more comfortable if they were tiered.

The XBOX Control also has two expansion slots. These slots alow for the headset and a memmory card to be used and there isn't another courd strung across the room that you (or your dog) could get tangled and ruin the system. another great feture is the quick/easy disconect built into the cord that prevents the system frome geting pulled off the shelf when the "dog" tramples between the system and control. this is a feture that tells you that the system was designed by gamers and not white collar nitwits with a degree in accounting.

All-in-all, the XBOX control puts everything at hands reach so you don't have to get up and change memory cards just to find you have to do it again because it is the wrong card or unplug the headset. I like the Controller S and think it IS the bluprint to be emulated.

4-0 out of 5 stars Alot better than I expected
I would recomend purchasing this controller. Smallest controller I have ever seen for an x-box, I didn't have any problems with it though. Don't buy those 3rd party controllers, because guess what? They don't work right.

1-0 out of 5 stars Ugliest Thing I Have Ever Seen
I love playing xbox but when I saw this controller I died a little bit inside. First off it's green. Who would ever buy an ugly ass green controller? Second off it isn't big and hard to use, if it isn't a pain in the ass to use the controller I don't want to even play the game.

5-0 out of 5 stars Perfect color for the XBox
Those who bought an XBox when it first came out remember the monstrously oversized controller that came with it. Fans complained, and Microsoft created the Controller S ("S" for "small") to alleviate the cramped hands and aggravation the original controller caused. The control layout may take some getting used to, as many games require the use of all of the buttons, and reaching the small black and white buttons near the bottom of the controller can be risky in heavy combat (such as switching grenade types while battling an Elite in Halo). Otherwise, this controller is great. It's just the right size for most people, although if you're buying a controller for someone with small hands (like a child, for example) then I suggest the Mad Catz MicroCon, perfectly suited for smaller hands. This semi-tranparent green controller goes well with the black and green Xbox. The Controller S is also available in black and blue.

I hope this review was helpful

5-0 out of 5 stars Best Controller Out There
I received this controller when I purchased the special edition Halo Xbox system.Unless you have huge hands this is the best controller out there. It fits perfectly into my hands making it so that you don't have to move your hands around too much when you play.Lots of other third party companies try to duplicate the S controller with both wired and unwired versions but don't buy them. All of the third party ones slightly mess up the details.I personally don't like them even though I own 2 third party wireless controllers simply for having the convenience of wireless. However if you don't need to have wireless controllers buy the Microsoft S controller because it feels better and is well worth the extra 5 bucks when compared to a third party controller ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Great
First of all, let my point out that mine came with demos of crimson skies and mech assault and the full version of xbox classic arcade.Mine was new in the certified microsoft box, etc.Maybe they just updated the games.

Anyways, it is in my opinion a better deal to buy the 12-month pack, but I decided on the 3-month just because I've got the 2-month trial already and didn't want 14 months built up.

In the box:There's the communicator headset, a 3-month subscription card, the game discs, and several manuals on connecting to xbox live.

The communicator:Purely awesome.I have read many people's comments saying that it breaks at the little clip.I grant it that the clip is thin and could potentially break easily, but it is not uber fragile.Don't be afraid to put it on.The headset weighs next to nothing and is really comfortable. It has great outgoing voice quality and great sound quality through the speaker.

Xbox Live Itself:Do you have broadband?Do you have a router and a switch or hub if needed? If the answers are both yes, you need xbox live.It is incredible.

Buy this or the 12-month kit if you are just starting (but don't forget to start your account first with the free 2 months. After you have live already, renew with the subscription card. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Amazing
I frequently travel to Vermont from Connecticut.Once i got my Xbox i needed a way to bring it back and forth.I saw aluminum cases that were over pirced and cheap nylon backpacks.I saw this last year in fye.I think it was $40.00 then but well worth the money.First of all, it holds 2 controllers, some cables, and memory cards in the top pocket.Sometimes i can even jam in another controller or the Xbox communicator.Inside, its even better. There are slots to hold 16 games and pockets for their manuals or instructions. The Xbox is strapped down inside the case so it doesnt move around. This case protects your Xbox very well. Not only is it good for its price but it is the best case available.

4-0 out of 5 stars Convenience Has Never Been So Sweet
G-Pak Xbox Organizer and Travel Case is is not only convenient, but compact. It's big enough to hold about two controllers and all connector cables. Not only that, but you can compact close to twenty games in the sleeve compartment. It's great for travel, being big enough to check. If you're protective over your Xbox as I am, it also doubles as a carry-on, fitting snugly in all under-seat storage areas.Upon arrival at your destination, you can easily set up your system without ever removing your Xbox. The back/bottom of the case opens for the sole purpose of cable connectivity. The only drawback to this accessory is its underabundance of storage capacity for vital accessories.Four controllers simply refuse to squeeze in there, let alone all necessary cables. If your an anti-social gamer, great. But for all you socials, you better bring a plastic bag for additional accessories.Overall, it's a best-buy.

4-0 out of 5 stars An excellent way to transport your xbox
Since I have moved farther from home, I am unable to bring my desktop computer with me to play computer LAN games with my friends. Since my friends and I have an xboxes, I wanted a safe way of transporting it across the country. I also wanted a case that would care just about everything I needed to bring with me and be strong enough to protect my xbox. This product has solved those problems for me. The case overall is very light with room to store two controllers, all the cables, at least 16 games, 2 memory cards. The case is also very durable and will survive traveling by airplane (as a carry-on item). The light weight is a plus when walking around large airports versus the larger heavier metal cases. This case is also designed for you to play your xbox right from the case (meaning you don't have to remove it to use it). However, I would take it of the case if you are planning on playing it for more than 4 hours. The only cons to this case for me is that I wish it had some more room to store extra controllers (like 3 or 4) and possible a hub.

Otherwise this is an excellent product!!!!!

4-0 out of 5 stars Very innovative and nearly perfect
I play a lot of Halo at friends' houses, and I found it a pain to remember all the hardware when I go, and I would be concerned about dropping my console on the way there! This product takes care of both problems!

The Pros are:

- dense padding protects Xbox from moderate shock
- plenty of room for two controllers and normal wires, including a 12' Ethernet cord.
- Streamlined (not like that other Xbox backpack, that begs your friends to make fun of you, heheh).
- [Editorial Review is true to form, everything mentioned is correct]

the CONS are:

- Not enough room for Ethernet Hub (could use about two more square-inches of accessory space).
- There are vents to help with cooling. However, I would be hard-pressed to actually keep my Xbox in the G-Pak all the time.I'm sure it's good for 1-2 hours of gameplay; I would not expect ample cooling for a 3-4 hour Halo romp.
- Price could be a little lower.I would not have purchased it for $29.95 (got it as a gift).I would be willing to pay $24.95

Excellent Product! ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Pretty Useless
I used my remote all of about 8 times before it stopped working.Even with the proprietary dongle inserted into a controller slot you cannot control this thing with a controller, you must use the remote control. When you take the dongle out with a DVD in, a screen will come up telling to reinsert, so if either the dongle or the remote get slightly injured or malfunction, then you've just wasted thirty bucks.I feel quite ripped off. With the low cost of DVDs nowadays, it's a MUCH better idea to buy a standalone IMHO, you can get a good progressive scan for about $30 or $40, which comes out to about the same price.

As a side, it is also EXTREMELY annoying that you can't turn on, or off the device with the remote, you must go up to box to do it yourself, especially annoying if you just want to watch a DVD in your bed and crash afterwards.

All in all the value proposition offered by this product is very low considering the similarly priced alternatives.

1-0 out of 5 stars DVDs don't play!
DVD's which play perfectly well on other cheap players, freeze/skip or don't play when I try to play them on the XBOX. Don't waste your money on this, buy a stand-alone DVD player instead so you won't have the frustration that I've had!

5-0 out of 5 stars Do NOT buy Substitutes!!!!!!!!!! Buy the original!!!!!!
Buy the original Microsoft XBOX DVD Remote. I bought a substitute from Game Liquidation and after only 10 movies the receiver/transmitter stopped working. I did not get a refund although I returned the product.

The original remote is GREAT! No problems so far and I have seen dozens of movies - satisfaction guaranteed.

3-0 out of 5 stars Not what i was expecting

1-0 out of 5 stars DON'T buy this
This remote is of awful quality; i've been through two of them in the past year. I wouldn't complain so much if it didn't cost $30! It's worth ten, at most. Most people would be better off buying a cheap DVD player, rather than using the xbox. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars This Box Rocks
For months I've had to carry my XBOX, controllers, Controller Converters, Electrical & A/V Wires, LAN cables, and games in my green sports bag (which I recieved as a gift from my father's gift of cologne!).... It held all my items, but it did not PROTECT THEM.
With this suit case, I am now able to not only protect my XBOX, and accessories, but put everything I actually use all in one place. Plus it saves me space in my car's trunk since I practically live out of my car (I'm currently a college student).

You have to be nuts to not appreciate the extra accessories (the CD Disc Case, Programable controller and DVD Lens Cleaner). You don't have to use all these items, since they're easily sellable on your own accord.

Great buy and save!

3-0 out of 5 stars Not worth the money
This item, while neat in its own feature-esque way, is not worth the (...) one would put into owning it.It's only really useful when you take your Xbox places, and the case only holds 6 discs. The cleaning kit is absolutely worthless, but the controller is useful... if you don't already have 4. ... 1-0 out of 5 stars Ok For A While
I couldn't wait to get playing. I played for a couple hours and it was "good". But after that, the down arrow wouldn't work. You would hit it and it didn't do anything. I got three words for you Don't Buy One. My cousins have Konami brand ones and they work great.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Mat But Get One On eBay!
This mat is great for beginners. It won't last too long for advance users but this mat is a great way for a beginners to learn how to play. Some people recommend duct tapping plywood on the bottom of the mat some it responds better, but if you get a mat anywhere, I STRONGLY RECOMMEND getting one on eBay.Usually, they are brand new and factory sealed. They usually come in a sets of two (one for you and a friend) and sell for about $8.50 like this one (either in XBox or PS2) and $15.95 for shipping (The Buy It Now price on eBay is usually $8.50 but you can still bid on it to save a couple of bucks).Shipping for these mats on amazon.com are $4.49 for 3-5 day shipping and $8.98 for two day shipping so you still come out ahead on eBay.I got a mat that retails for $130 (its sort of like the mat that sells for $99 here; its more expensive because it has extra padding and it will last longer) for $20 and $25 dollar shipping. For hardcore fans who really got some moves and play the DDR games a lot, eBay has the metal dance mats with the bar (looks exactly like the one in the arcades) for about $150 (not including shipping).Otherwise, this is an awesome mat but if you want to save money and get one for when a friend comes over, get one on eBay (if you get one on eBay, search ddr or search ddr extreme).

1-0 out of 5 stars 3 faulty pads in a row
Within a couple weeks the down arrow started failing.Amazon quickly replaced the pad with the same results. Then we had to return the 3rd pad for the same reason.Something is seriously wrong.

1-0 out of 5 stars Response for J. Baer
Hey J. Baer, sorry this response is so late, but I noticed you were asking about agood dance pad for the X-box. I wholeheartedly recommend the RedOctane.com Ignition Pad (Dual Platform Edition). The cord is split at the end so that it will work with either PSX/PS2 or X-Box. Its quite a bit more expensive ($109.95) than the pad listed on this page, but it is well worth your money. I'm an officer for a DDR club at a university and we've bought these pads for our club with money from dues. Most hardcore members (including myself) own Ignition pads themselves because they are the favorite softpad among the DDR community. We also have 2 Cobalt Flux pads, which are incredible, but not very practical for your purposes ($300 each).
Check out the RedOctane website and see what you think. They are definitely worth your money. We have been having problems with one of our pads lately, but thats because they get so much usage by all our club members. If it is just for your home and you take good care of it I'm confident you will be very satisfied.

1-0 out of 5 stars Yea, I got burned, too.
I picked up this pad and, just like everyone else, the back arrow stopped working after a while. By all means, avoid this one. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Best Controller Ever
This is a beautiful controller for several reasons. I have big hands and this conforms to my hands perfectly, my hands fit to it naturally. Another thing I like is the ruggedness of the thing, it has heft and weight to it, a solid, quality feel, with quality rubbery like plastic, so it feels good to hold. It is not cheap feeling plastic like some other controllers.

I would especially recomend this for you if you have big hands like me.You won't feel as cramped as you do on the stock controller supplied with the box, also if you like things that feel solid and sturdy then this controller will be right for you.

2-0 out of 5 stars wore out in less than a year
As noted by another reviewer, the rubber joystick pads wore out and were unreplaceable. After improvising with rubber bands, the controller itself then became unusable, drifting and not moving where the right joystick was pointed.

This product was great for about six months, but I cannot recommend it due to it's short life.

1-0 out of 5 stars Logitech is missing the boat
Run do not walk away from the Logitech counter. When the rubber pads wore off my game pad I was willing to pay for replacement parts. Their 800 number sales line was delighted to tell me to call their toll call help line and sit on hold for 20 minutes.According to Logitech these parts are not available for replacement regardless of wether or not you wish to pay for them. This is a terrible example of customer service. Logitech has enough brand recognition apparently that it does not need new customers. I personally will never buy another Logitech product. Companies who refuse to support their products will not get my business.

5-0 out of 5 stars One of the best controllers for Xbox
Logitech almost always makes great hardware, at least that is my personal opinion. Almost all of my computer peripherals (mouse, keyboard, speakers, gamepad) are from Logitech and their wireless has never disappointed me before. Again they come through in spades with a wireless controller that does not disappoint. There is no lag between pressing a button and an action happening on screen. I was also able to go from one end of my house to another, which is a good distance, and the response time was the same. Now, I know that may not be the biggest deal, but it does tell me that I will be able to sit in front of my T.V. just a few feet back and not experience any problems. Another great thing about Logitech is their warrenty, which often times does not get covered in reviews like this. I have had one piece of equipment go bad in the 7+ years I have used their hardware, and when I got to someone on the phone they were a pleasure to deal with and the return policy was great. I think that is important when deciding to purchase anything, especially when it costs a few dollars more than some of the competition. Overall, I could not be happier with the controller, or with Logitech for that matter.

3-0 out of 5 stars Great at first, doesn't last long
I was very happy with the controller for the first 3 months I had it, then the left thumb pad wore down and is falling off. Then the left joystick also began to stick, and would not return to the home position. When playing halo, I can't stand still, when I let go of the joystick, it makes me slowly drift left, often falling off cliffs to my death.I would not buy this model again. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Works Perfectly
After trying two different brands of PS2 wireless controllers that DIDN'T work, we bought a Logitech for $10 more.It works perfectly, fits well in the hand and gets the job done.Life is too short to spend your time returning defective junk to the game store.Fork over the additional 10 bucks and get quality gear!

1-0 out of 5 stars Buyer Beware!
I've always seen Logitech as a very good company that makes high quality products, until the cordless PS2 controller came along.Besides the fact the controller is VERY heavy, the left analog stick hangs, and I have gotten minimal play with it.Why?Because it also has a terrible "sleep mode" (AKA: there's no way to turn the thing off and save battery life). With no vibration on, I would say I may have gotten 25 hours of game play with new batteries (and that is rounding up).I called tech support, and they are no help.(I didn't really expect a lot since they can't make a defective product work.)Logitech should refund everyone who bought this controller.Perhaps this will help someone out there who thinks Logitech's game console products are as good as their computer products.I would not recommend this product.Buyer Beware!

Also beware that Logitech makes a wireless controller for the XBOX as well. After the horrible experience with this PS2 controller, I bought the Intec XBOX Pro Mini 2 Wireless Controller. It is excellent.Intec also supplies a controller for PS2.I have not tried it, but if I buy another wireless controller for the PS2, I'm going to Intec.

5-0 out of 5 stars The BEST Ps2 controller period.
I always liked the quality of Logitechs products and wanted the convenience of a wireless when playing my games in bed so I didn't hesitate to purchase this.Very good quality, feels good in the hands with just the right amount of weight to it. Sturdy and well made.some guys here complained about broken analog sticks but I think the problems were due to them just being a bit abusive with their stuff. These are very well made.I have an updated model slightly different from the picture.Logitech must have responded to the complaints of hands slipping off the analog sticks. The new controller has black rubberized sticks that are not concave. The only complaint I have is the placing of the select and start button so close to the analog sticks.Requires a little bit of dexterity in the fingers!Other than that this is a superb wireless.A

4-0 out of 5 stars Great , but Some lost signals or broken buttons
When I first gotthis, I loved it. I've had it for about a year. So, I was playing a racing game, and I was holding the X to go and then suddenly, I slowed down. After that it still didn't work so good. It even happened in other games. I even tried changing the batteries. This is still a great controller because it only does it sometimes.

3-0 out of 5 stars Not strong enough....
Mine has broken twice, left analog stick broken (always forces the movement down). Can't recommend without an insurance policy, the product is just too weak.

Update: Another one of these broke on me. The left analog stick gets "stuck" in the down position and there is a fine white dust eveident arount the base of the analog stick. I'd say stay away from this one, which is too bad because it is quite responsive and has good battery life. One other thing, the controller will quit responding if too close to a ringing 2.4 GHZ cordless phone. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Take Caution
Take caution when buying this controller.Mine (yes, its green) has been replaced by either me or my parents 3 times, and needs to be replaced again. The X button on every one of the 4 green controllers I have had, has always been bad, and it stops working well after a few days. Then, my controllers stop working permanently after about a year.My brothers still works fine after 3 years (he got the blue one). Please take caution on the controller you get.

5-0 out of 5 stars Controller
well, it's an avarage dualshock controller that I'm gonna buy because My amazon gift card won't work to buy the yellow Japenesse one. If you have a PS2 this is the same conrolller that comes with it, but in green.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great replacement for 2 black controllers
I have 2 black controllers for PS2 and I can never tell which one was in the 1st controller port and the 2nd port. It was a struggle following all those mixed wires cause most of the time all my wires for all my systems gang up into 1 big headache ball. It was pissing me off. Now I got this green controller and a video game center to stop pissing me off.

5-0 out of 5 stars Green PS2 controller
Perfect if ur a matrix fan, such as myself. or if u just like the color green. Or money etc.

4-0 out of 5 stars This game rocks!
This is my favorite video game by far.
Its fun and a workout at the same time. It even keeps teack of how many calories you burn. If you have xbox live then you can battle people from all around. Thanks Konami for this great video game! What are u waiting for go out and buy it!

4-0 out of 5 stars Amazing
this game is amazing! i have never had so much fun playing a video game until i played this game. it's outstanding. i absolutly love it

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Addition to the DDR series, but not the best
I have played DDR: Konamix, DDRMAX, DDRMAX2, and now DDR ULTRAMIX. All of these were lots of fun to play and had plenty of replay value, but this one doesn't hit the spot just right. However, considering it's price, the game is well worth the buy for the xbox.

The graphics are very smooth with no slowdown. The backround dancers are cell-shaded, and they look very smooth as well. The menus are all very colorful and very responsive.

The sound quality is great, everything makes great noise. The only problem I found here is the announcer's voice being a bit too loud at times, and this could not be adjusted, but could be turned off.

The song list is a great deal smaller then it's predecessors, (this one: 50 songs, DDRMAX2: 72) and it combines a bunch of fun songs. However, it would have been nice to see some other 10 footers besides MAX 300.

So what gives this game the slightly below perfect score? The fact that it feels like a watered down version of DDRMAX2. It does not include non-stop mode, the challenges feel rushed, and the step edit mode is very hard to follow. It could have been fixed, but they decided not to.

The fact that you can buy more songs for a reasonable price is nice, but the problem is, some people don't have xbox live. There are currently 3 song packs available, all very nice, with something for everyone. DDR ULTRAMIX is definately worth it's budget price.

5-0 out of 5 stars Too Much Fun!!! and a good workout to boot!
OK lets start by saying this game is not just for teenagers. I am just out of law school and LOVE IT! I love to do the workout mode where the game counts your calories for you. I set it for an hour and always end up going over. Who can say that for the stairmonster? The best part is you have a smile on your face the entire time and stress is just erased. This game is reason enough to go out and buy an xbox! The added bonus of being live enabled is great. (If you don't know, Xbox live is a subscription service that lets you go online and download additional features for games, like new songs, and play against people from all over)

A couple of bits of advice...

*Read the little book that comes with the game... I know, who wants to read instruction but it is helpful as the interface is not exactly intuitive at first glance.

*Don't get discouraged...
a)use the training mode to slow things down, choose the light setting for easier step patterns, this game has a ton of features to help you, take advantage of them.
b)the game only counts off if you miss a step not if you add some so, have fun, be creative, try to position yourself for the next step, and don't go back to center everytime.

Remember! It is a game, not an exam and you don't have to compete with anyone if you don't want to...just get up there and shake your groove thing.

I am planing to buy three extra pads to use at my next party...I am sure it will be a big hit, I am a little worried that no one will want to go home though.

Also, I don't have children but...I can imagine that this would make a great alternative to all the wack monsters with swords, shoot things, and beat things up games that are so popular (don't get me wrong I love those games too) with the added bonus of getting the little ones off the sofa and moving around.

All and all I could not be more pleased...an Xbox must have... ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great
I love the new Gray Dual Shock 2 Controller its see though and a lot easier to handel than the controller that came with my Playstation2.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best thing ever to happen!
First of all the PS2 controller is the best controller because it is not to big (X Box Controller) and it is not to small (GameCube Controller). It also is not to complicated, I mean, my 4 year old brother can even use it right. Plus now that they have made it see-through with color, it is even better than before. ... Read more
