Mario and more
This game rules! For all you people out there who thought the NINTENDO 64 version was fun, buy this to waste 10 minutes to 3 hours.You can play story mode like in the game for the NINTENDO 64.But this game provides more of a challenge with more stars. You can also play mini games that you unlock as you play the game.You can choose different characters as you defeat their bosses.Each character also has a special ability that only they can use.If you want your first NINTENDO DS game to rule mario is the man to pick.

BEST DS GAME SO FAR!
I own the original N64 game, and I have to say, the DS version is better. It's awesome to play a classic in a new way, in any place (well, assuming you're not underwater, etc...). I was amazed at the feel controlling with the stylus brings. It felt awesome to race Koopa again and all of that. Much better than filth like Star Wars Ep.III: Revenge of the Sith.

A classic with modern twists!
First off, when I first played Super Mario 64 for the nintendo 64, I WAS NOT crazy about it. Not at all. I liked games like Donkey Kong 64, so Mario wasn't a big deal to me because I was wrapped up in Donkey Kong 64. Now as the years go by, I heard about this new Mario game. For a Nintendo DS? Finally, November came, and I said, ow, why not. So I bought Mario 64 DS, and Feel The Magic XX/XY. I was stunned with Mario, it's like now, I got to play with Yoshi and Luigi!(wasn't crazy for Wario) There were so many great things about this game. But there were also some bad things, and there was the ugly.

The Good-
1. You can play a classic on the go!
2. There are three new playable characters.
3. 3D graphics are absolutely amazing.
4. You'll want to play it over and over.
5. 30 extra stars than the original, count, 150!
6. Amazing new levels, each testing a different characters abilities.
7. Multiplayer!
8. That music is still great!

The Bad-
1. Gets a little boring after a while, but you'll still want to play later.
2. Can be a little frustrating.
3. Characters have unique abilities and strengths, but still overall, they're all the same.
4. Bosses are a little easy.(But hey, they're still fun!)

The UGLY-
1. NO analog stick.
2. Made my fingers hurt using the D-pad to much.
3. A little too short if you get into it.

Overall-
The game is still the bomb like the original, sure it has it's flaws, but who cares, unless you really look at that kind of stuff. This SHOULD be your first choice when you buy the DS, unless you're not a Mario person like I am now. For $30.00, this game is not to be missed. Remember, it's the same game, just with new characters, levels, and multiplayer!This review is all true, so believe me, it should not be missed, especially to a Nintendo DS owner!

Nintendo has continued its tradition of going beyond its call of duty of making kicka** hardware... and making kicka** software!

The good people at nintendo who have made Super Mario 64 have remade the game and since it's Mario 64... who better to play than... Mario! Psyche, you're stuck with Yoshi until you get Mario, Luigi and Wario, each one special in thier own way... next one to make a special Ed joke gets shot...

My main gripe was... the lack of analog, otherwise this game owned, with multiplayer compatibility and minigames! Yay! Go buy it! Seriously! I don't know why I'm shouting! I'm gonna seek professional help now! Bye!

Better Than the Original
I never owned a Nintendo 64 system, so the only times that I've played the original version of Super Mario 64 have been in various hotel rooms. But now that I own the new version of the game on the Nintendo DS system, I know that this new game is much better than the original.

One thing that I like better about this game is that in addition to Mario, you get to play as Luigi, Wario, and Yoshi. Each character has his own strengths and weaknesses. You'll start the game as Yoshi, my favorite character in the Mario games. After defeating certain bosses, you'll literally unlock the other three characters. Another thing that I like better is that there are now 150 hidden Stars to be found. That's 30 more than the original game.

Also, this game has lots of extra features. There are LOTS of mini-games to play. 8 of them are available to play right from the start by visiting the Rec Room. More mini-games can be unlocked by catching the rabbits that are hopping around the castle. And that's not all. You can battle up to 3 of your friends in Wireless Versus mode as you try to be the first one to catch all 5 stars.

The only thing that I don't really like about this game is that you need to really get acquainted with the controls. It is very hard to control the game, as the Nintendo DS doesn't have a Control Stick. There are three control modes: Standard, Touch, and Dual-Hand. Almost Flawless
Overall: Overall, if you really enjoy the street car life, girls, cars, and the VROM VROM sound, then yeah, NFSU2 is for you. There are some flaws though, but overall, I would say with no doubts that this is the most fun game in the racing genra. If I had to say what the most entertaining part of the game is, I would definately say the customization by the way.

4.5 - What I think that seperates NFSU2 is the customization. Driving around in your own boring stock cars gets boring, and just doing race after race just plain blows. Well, the guys at EA came up with the idea of being able to customize your performance, your body style, your paint job, and your specialties (neon, spinners). There are literally thousands of combinations of cars possible, and you can let the clown out in you and make a hilarious wierdo car, or let the ladies man come out, and make a rockin' pimp mobile. The only flaw in the gameplay, is traffic. Traffic was an idiotic idea. You'll justbe driving along, and you'll go on a turn, and you'll blindly smash into a car, and have to restart the race, and sometimes on really long races, this gets really irritating.

5.0 - The sound is what makes this game just plain awesome. The tracks range from techno, to heavy metal, to hip-hop. They already have them preset so the techno and heavy metal play when you're racing, and the hip-hop when you're in a shop. If you want to switch around when the songs play, you can by going to EA Trax in the menu. I have never ever had a problem with the sound. A+.

4.0 - The graphics are really quite impressive in this game. Especially for a Nintendo DS. The lighting effects really impress me. The only problem is the crashes. If you look carefully, if you hit a car in a head-on collision, your front bumper will go through it, and come back out. Sometimes it glitches because it ends up loading while you're racing, and you will look like you're hopping. The graphics aren't the game's best feat, but they still are pretty dang cool.

Fun but challenging
NFSU2 is the best game-Hands down- made for the DS so far,yes even better than Mario "duh". The graphics are awesome but the music could be better. There are challenging parts in the game where you might become frustrated but you could try another game mode. Sometimes traffic gets on your nerves but it's all cool after you get the hang of cars going the other way. What I don't get is that almost every time an opposing car runs into you flip over. This game allows you to remake or coustimize the cars that you own. NFSU2 brings together ALL street racing characteristics. I give fun 4 stars and I would recomend this game to anyone.

Short but Fun
I have only played this Warioware game and the Warioware: Twisted! game, so I will not be rating this game in comparison to the first Warioware game.

In this game, you play through a series of quick, 5 second microgames in quick succession.Although some games are hard to complete, the real challenge is in the speed.There are over 180 microgames, so with each microgame you have to instantly figure out what you need to do, or lose and proceed on at the breakneck pace.

This gameplay is incredibly fun, and really makes for one of the best gaming experiences ever.The actions are a bit repetitive, however.Take the microphone themed games.About 90% of these games could be done simply by blowing in the microphone again and again.Luckily, the little differences in each game keep you interested, and your eyes on the screen.

By far the biggest problem with this game is its length.I beat it in about three hours.(Beat meaning I got the reccomended scores for every character in the game)I spent a further three hours or so, and I am now experienced with every microgame in Touched! and I am close to having beaten the Albums for them.I have every souvenier but three.And worst of all, once you have memorized every microgame, the entire thrill of the game, not knowing what to do, is gone.

If you are looking a tougher, larger game experience, buy Warioware: Twisted! for the GBA instead.It is a bit better than Touched!, but they're both great games really.If you have a DS, my reccomendation is to buy them both, put them in at the same time, and have a great time!Plus, you unlock a special video of Mona in Touched! if you put them both in at the same time.

Overall, Touched! is either a hit or miss game.Try it before you buy it, but I think you'll like it.

I Love Wario!!!
This game is so much fun. Although sometimes the directions are unclear, the items on the screen usually tell you what to do.It is a game I could play forever and it never gets old. You never know what mini game will pop up next. It is very fun and NOT a waste of your money.

Absolute madness yet SO fun!!!!!
Having played, replayed, and loved the GBA WarioWare: Mega Microgames, it was only natural that I should buy the DS version. WarioWare Touched is perhaps the craziest DS game ever created, a barrage of 5-second microgames one after another. There are 180 of them, all with strange goals like running a mechanical pencil out of lead or popping balloons. Some other reviewers have complained that this game is too easy, but I disagree. Sure, I was able to beat all the sets of microgames once in the first day I had it, but that's only scratching the surface. After you beat a Boss level or complete a set number of games, you recieve a weird souvenir, which could be anything from a party blowout to a parrot that repeats whatever you say into the DS's microphone. This keeps you playing even after your first run through the game, trying to beat challenges and unlock more extras. I still don't have them all. I still haven't even played all the microgames.

Another cool feature of this game is the fact that only the touch screen and the mic have any importance in the game controls; everything else just pauses the game. While this makes for a fun, different way to play, you should be careful not to get too carried away in trying to beat the clock, or else it's easy to scratch your screen. I know. I've been very, very careful {or have tried to be, anyway}, but my screen still got some scratches. Oh well. This game is worth it. This isn't a story-oriented game like Super Mario 64 DS {which, by the way, is an awesome game}, but it'll keep you playing for quite some time. Oh yes, it's got some pretty cool music too, 2 songs having lyrics. I really enjoy this game, and I recommend it to anyone who has a DS.

This game is extremely fun because of the single fact that you get to play 180 new microgames with the touch screen.Yup, you heard me folks, you don't use those pesky buttons the entire game.This style of gameplay makes Warioware: Touched the best game ever.This game has many micro games, over a 180.If you are wondering:What is a microgame? Don't worry, I'll explain. A microgame is a fun game, that takes about 5 seconds to complete.Now you must be thinking: That is so easy then! Nope, your child won't get bored of them, because they become very hard to complete in the later levels. The game is set up in a very interesting way.Each charcter has there own specifictype of games. For example, with the character Jimmy T., you have to rub to complete the games.Each character throws exciting new games your way. In one of the characters, you evn use the microphone! To unlock more charcters you have to beat a chracter yuo have.But the fun doesn't stop there either. After beating the game you can try and beat your highscore's for each character.This part is challenging, and I promise it will keep your child interested.Another cool thing about this game is the toys.Whenever you beat a character, you get a "toy". What is a toy, you might ask. A toy is a cool little thing that is fun to play with. For example one of the toys is a "harmonica." A must-have for DS owners
This is the first must-have game for Nintendo's new handheld. With great implementation of the DS' unique features, fun-for-anyone gameplay, and quirky tone, this will please both the masses and the diehards.

The hook here, obviously, is the touch screen. Let me tell you, using a stylus is just as intuitive as using a button interface. Everything is incredibly responsive; I can't think of a single time when I had to tap or rub repeatedly to get the game to react.

There are a respectable number of characters in the game, each with his or her own control mechanic. To complete the game, you must finish a set of each character's "microgames" (think minigames, only they last around 5 seconds each). For example, there's a character for "slicing", one for "scribbling", and another for "dragging", among others. This variety keeps the game fresh, and always makes you excited to play as a new person.

The microgames themselves are extremely well-designed. Although you are thrown straight into them, with no explanation or instructions, it's a cinch to figure out your objective and complete it within the time limit. You'll find yourself doing things as diverse as scribbling ketchup onto hot dogs, chopping carrots, or scratching backs. Lots of the games are funny, too. I should also mention that each game has three levels of difficulty, which adds more variety.

Maybe what I like best about this game, beyond the great gameplay, is the extraordinary amount of content. Sure, the "main" game can be finished quickly, but there's a boatload of things to do after viewing the credits. By earning high scores, you can earn tons of extra prizes. These prizes are really great and unique; you can unlock everything from a playable piano to a two-player ping-pong game.

This game has convinced me that the DS has real potential. It's a joy to play, it'll keep you entertained for hours, and it's full of little surprises that'll make you smile. A great game - but way too short
I love Yoshi! I remember playing Yoshi's Story quite a bit. The Yoshi Touch and Go is a great little game for quick playing - but it really is too short.

There are two basic modes. In the first mode, Baby Mario is floating downwards through the sky. He floats down in the top screen - and you see what is beneath him in the lower screen. You use the stylus to build a cloud stairway in essence for him to float down - aiming him at the coins, keeping him away from the enemies. You can draw cloud-circles around enemies to turn them into coins. It's a fairly short fall - only a few minutes - but it's fun to balance the enemy-circling and the slide-creating.

Once Mario is on the ground, he's in on essence a "runaway Yoshi" - a Yoshi that plows right, no matter what is in his way. If there's a ditch, he'll simply jump in! Yoshi isn't very bright :) Your job as the Fairy Guardian is to draw cloud bridges, cloud stairs, cloud ramps, etc. to make sure that Yoshi's path is safe. Again, you draw circles around the enemies, and now you also can point at items in the sky to shoot them down with eggs.

The game is a great deal of fun, and nicely non-violent for kids. You can replay the levels to work on your point count and try to get the highest score. But the problem is that this is literally all there is to the game. I'd love to have FAR more levels ... to have secret levels ... to have worlds you move between. Surely, for the price of the game, they could have given us far more to do! I feel like I'm playing the demo version of a real game, but that really is all there is TO the game.

So while I am thrilled with what I got, I really think they should have given us more. Once they got this cool engine designed, how hard could it have been to crank out 10 or 20 different worlds for us to go through, with different colors, themes, etc?

The best 2D sidescroller for the DS you could get
Yoshi Touch&Go is a great game.The game uses none of the buttons, just the touch screen.You draw clouds to safely guide baby mario and yoshi away from the monsters. There are four modes.Score attack: try to get the highest score; marathon: go as far as you can without dying; challenge (this is locked): you have 100 seconds, go as far as you can; Time attack: (take a guess what this is) beat the level in the lowest time.This is a terrific and family-friendly game.Just because it's a side scroller doesn't mean that it's not good.

A Great Game for on the Go
Truthfully, Yoshi Touch and Go is a game that shows potential, but there are a few things that keep it from being great.It's a unique game, I'll say that much; and it definitely came out on the right system; however, I can't help but admit that this is just another game to show off the Nintendo DS's power.There's gameplay, but no story.

First and foremost, Yoshi Touch and Go was first designed as a tech demo for the Nintendo DS.It's now been spanned into a larger game.For those of you who remember Yoshi's Island, on the SNES (or GBA) this is quite a nostalgic moment for you.

Graphically, Touch and Go doesn't really look much better than Yoshi's Island.Some of it actually looks worse.It's rather colorful, but the characters don't look as crisp as they did in Yoshi's Island. Ideally enough, for the DS this is lacking in the graphics department.

The gameplay is a high point for this game, though.Never have I seen a DS game that requires you to use the touch screen the way this does.In fact, all your actions come from the touch screen.If you can't get across a gap, you'll have to use the stylus to make a bridge cloud.Sometimes you'll have to make a bridge to bypass enemies.If you screw up when making a bridge you can just as easily blow into the MIC of your DS and it vanishes.

There's more to using the touch screen.Tapping on Yoshi makes him jump, and sometimes tapping on enemies will make him throw an egg at them.

As with Yoshi's Island, you're goal is to protect Baby Mario.There are challenges to this, and sometimes it makes the gameplay rather frustrating.You'll have to draw clouds and jump on them to reach him, since most of the gameplay takes place on the touch screen, and sometimes that's easier said than done.You'll have to draw clouds based on where you THINK Mario is going to be.Looks can be deceiving, and a lot of the gameplay, I found, came from trying to memorize where he was going to be in the stages.

The game is rather short, and since there's no storyline, the only thing you can do is play for the love of getting a high score.I don't know about you, but those days of getting the high score and gloating to your friends are over.Where are the secrets?Sadly, this game is devoid of any.

Multiplayer is also availible, but to be truthful, that's not a very large thing in this game.It's nice to play against friends and make them squeal (and it only takes one game pack to do it), but it just becomes boring after a while, and it isn't nearly as impressive as the one player game.

Yoshi Touch and Go is by far one of the better DS titles.I just wish there was more to it.More secrets, more levels and most of all, I wish it had some sort of storyline to it.It's just another game to show what the DS can do, and while that's fine and dandy, DS owners have been waiting for a decent title since it's launch in November!

Not a bad game.If you're looking to see what the DS can really do, pick this up.Otherwise, you might as well wait a little longer for a more decent title.

Yoshi touch & go is a fun, addicting game, with 4 modes that span from going as far as possible without getting killed to scoring the highest amount of points in a short period. I recently bought this game (yesterday) and was pleased, but a little borred by the slow and sometimes annoying gameplay.


Don't get me wrong, this is a great game, but the sky area is hard and difficult to get the hang of.

the game starts with baby mario falling from the sky, attached to 3 balloons, and you need to draw cloud tracks to guide him safely to the ground, and at the same time score as many points as possible. you need to keep him away from enemys, and the easiest way to do that is to simply draw clouds that block baby mario from the mennaces. but to get points, one must draw a circle around the enemy to turn it into a coin trapped inside a red bubble, then slide that bubble to baby mario to get some points. drawing cloud tracks that work is quite hard, in my opinion, but you can get the hang of it... after a while. if an enemy hits baby mario, baby mario looses one of his 3 balloons. dont loose all 3, or you fall.

At the bottom, yoshi catches you. your yoshi's color will depend on how many points you got coming down. the more points, the better yoshi. the better yoshi, the more eggs it can hold and the faster it can run.

The 2nd part of your journey is on yoshi, where you (slowly) trot through a land, while scoring points. to do this, you must either tap the screen to through an egg at an enemy, (you tap it where the enemy is, the game doesnt do that for you), or draw a bubble around an enemy and drag it to yoshi. continue this until you reach the goal, die, or your time runs out.

The game has 4 modes, including single-card download play for you and a friend.

The problem is that this game has almost NO story, and there isn't multiple levels. just 1 level for each mode to play, and get a high score of whatever your trying to get good.

This game is my favorite game for the DS, because it is amazingly fun when you get good and in to it, but the few mistakes that nintendo made gives this game 4 stars. ... Read more

Just...can't...stop...PLAYING!!!!! (A multi-category review)
Puzzle games are supposed to be the most addictive games around, but this is ridiculous. On a full DS charge, I usually start playing this game and don't stop until the unit shuts itself out. Then I plug it in, think about it for a bit, then keep playing the unit while it's charging! Heck, my Super Mario 64 DS and Rayman DS copies are probably going to be sitting for a long time before I start playing either of them again.
I am giving up time playing Polarium right now to write this Multi-Category review, but despite the time shortage, I'll add on another category to my preexisting seven: a new Multiplayer category, because that area deserves special mention.
Read this review and start flipping the tiles.

PLOTLINE: Guide a weird golden geometric figure around a playing field full of black and white tiles to form a line around them, then tap the last tile in the line to flip all the tiles you drew over, hopefully forming solid-color horizontal rows that vanish and give you points. there are three main gameplay modes, and they are the fast-paced Challenge mode, the brain-twisting Puzzle mode, and the frantic fun of Versus mode. The game overall: simple, but challenging. RATING: 10

GRAPHICS: Like most puzzle games, this one clearly says, "Graphics, schmaphics." The great gameplay covers up this fact completely. Plus, with almost no colors other than black, gray, and white, this game is easy to see in almost any lighting situation. A vast contrast from the color-rich Rayman DS, in which the only place you can play it in is a closed closet. RATING: 8.5

SOUND: The sound effects are cool, and so is the background music. The music doesn't distract you in Puzzle mode, making it easier to clear out the more difficult situations. RATING: 9

CONTROL: I was a bit wary when the game's manual said it was completely stylus-driven (no buttons will work other than the obvious Power button), but a few minutes of gameplay demonstates that buttons would actually hinder this game. There are two ways to draw lines, and you can choose between sliding the stylus across the screen (drawing) or clicking each corner on the line in order. There are a few skeptics who may look at this game and say that the D-Pad could be another control option, but it's obvious that that would be a nightmare in something fast like Challenge or Versus. RATING: 10

MULTIPLAYER: If the game's single-player modes sparkle like a gem, then the multiplayer shines brighter than the sun. Versus mode is multicard play, so unlike Super Mario 64 DS, you can join with another Polarium player and start playing almost immediately. You can also create your own custom puzzles and trade them with other users who own the game. Got a friend who doesn't have the game? Then you can have them turn on their Download Play and send them a Polarium demo. The demo contains the full Tutorial, 10 puzzles, and the Versus mode option. The best part? You can then turn off your DS, leaving them to play their Polarium demo as long as their DS is on. Truly, Polarium's multiplayer is far superior to Super Mario 64 DS's. RATING: 10

Black and white isn't always bad
This is a terrfic puzzle game.You use the stylus to create vertical and horizontal lines of one color.There are 100 puzzles to solve.All of which are fun.There is also a tetris-like game.As blocks fall make lines to clear as many as you can.For people who have visual-spacial problems (like myself) this game will probably be harder for you.Although by playing this you might get better about it.I strongly reccomend this game.

Challenging and Fun
Finally, a decent game for the Nintendo DS. If you own a DS, you know one of the biggest problems with the system is the lack of available games. There are few to begin with, and of those available, several are disappointing. They have difficult control schemes, seem rushed to market, or just really don't have much lasting appeal. Polarium is a puzzle game, but it is a very good puzzle game. This is probably the best game of this type I've seen since Tetris. At first, it seems overly simple, but it soon becomes apparent how potentially challenging the game is. With three types of single person play, Polarium provides great game play variety with both a fast-paced challenge mode and a more leisurely puzzle mode. The game also allows you to create and save your own puzzles in puzzle mode. You can send these puzzles to other players with the wireless function of the DS, and there is also a wireless multi-player mode, but I have not tried either. Polarium has a lot of potential challenge and long-term playability, and makes great use of the touch screen features of the Nintendo DS. Okay, I'm not..
I'm not rating this low because it's Pokemon.. I enjoy pokemon game even though I am 14. This game is pretty bad just because of the fact its so unbelievably repetative. It can get boring while you are just in for first race.. Now i'm not going to be like the other reviewers and buy a PSP and save money, ebcause realistically, you wouldn't be saving you're money buying a PSP. they are 250 bucks. I would simply reccomend you waiting for the DS to come out with better games. I know nintendo can do better, and I hope they will.. i spent 200 birthday bucks on you.. You will be better off waiting though for some new DS games than rushing out for a PSP, because they have no really good games at all on the line. Saps are just buying that thing because of the graphics.. dont be fooled.. nintendo has some tricks up their sleeves

Pokemon Crap
I love pokemon red blue fire and leaf. Good rpgs there. But this! oh this is sad. I am going to give this to you straight forwards: this game BLOWS. The constant tapping with guiding pikachu is hard, annoying, and boring. There are games that come with Windows XP that are more fun than this. Buy a damn PSP! Nintendo is screwed not that psp is here. Save yourself some money!

what a rip off
This game is really stuiped! All you do the whole time is swip the screen over and over and over agian thats all you do. Then you can only be one pokemon and thats pickacho! Sure there is muplplayer but thats also boring. The grafics are bad to. This game semmed like it was rushed! Do not buy this all you do is swip the touch screen and look at pickacho run. Do not buy. Buy supermario 64 ds or yoshi touch and go. POkemon dash is not worth the money!

For the most die-hard of Pokemon fans only
Really, it's sad that for how long the DS has been out, not even a Pokemon game can be good.I'm not a huge Pokemon fan, but I still enjoy the games a lot.This isn't much of a Pokemon game at all.It has "Pokemon" in the title, but this is just a poor excuse for a racing game.It's repetative, slow, and doesn't show us what the DS can do.

The gameplay is already the first strike against the game.You control Pikachu through all the races, and the only aspect of the gameplay is... well... moving the stylus left and right to direct Pikachu where to go.That's it!

There are challenges, and there is a map.The entire goal is to pass through all the various checkpoints and win the race.Along the way there's water, lava, chasms and other things that get in your way.Sometimes, you may need a balloon to help you over some of the obstacles.

But the problem with the game right off the bat is simple.The races, short as they may be, are annoying.Especially when you get in a balloon.The map is nice, but you have to rely on arrows as you race to point you in the direction to the next checkpoint.It's nice to be able to take the balloons, but the arrows don't point you in any direction once you get a balloon.You could possibly end up floating in the wrong direction because the map is so large you don't know where to go!

The extras are even more underlying.By loading in one of the GBA pokemon games, you can create tracks shaped like the Pokemon themselves.This has little innovation actually, and the regular tracks are already boring enough.

The graphics aren't up to par with DS standards either.Vibrant and colorful, but at the same time fuzzy and lacking detail.The audio is no different.I'm tired of hearing Pikachu's cute little squeals and whatnot.His voice got annoying (as if Pokemon Yellow wasn't bad enough with his voice!), and the rest of the audio wasn't great either.I turned the volume down in the end.

Really now, Pokemon games on the handheld systems usually aren't bad.Pokemon Red and Blue was incredible, Gold and Silver was even better.Pokemon Puzzle League Challenge wasn't such a bad game either.But this?This is obviously something rushed out so that the DS would have a Pokemon title out within its first couple of months.

Skip this game.Unless you're one hell of a die-hard Pokemon fan, you won't find enjoyment in this one. ... Read more

super mario 64 ds is better
i just got this game today, and havent played it much yet. but from what i have played of it, i can tell that super mario 64 ds is much better, which i have owned since launch. first of all, the cut scenes in this are boring and not skipable. they also treat you like a little baby in this. "ok rayman, now press the b button to jump! now press up on the control pad to go forward!" i dont need that. i've played a game or two before. also the menus are somewhat confusing and the way you select levels is very annoying. also, on the screenshots i have seen the graphics look amazing and smooth, but once i started playing it they're kinda rough and choppy. they aren't bad graphics by any means, especially for a handheld, but super mario 64 ds also beats it in that category. it also doesnt have any the extras sm64ds has, like mini games and wireless multiplayer. overall, if you want a great platforming game, get this. if you want a great platforming game with better graphics, 32 mini games, and wireless multiplayer, get super mario 64 ds.

Awsome Game!
Pay no attention to the bad reviews that came before. This game is cool. As for the sound blankage rumor, I suspect it is a myth, because I did not find it. In this game you control Rayman, who is a strange guy whose head, feet, and hands float unsuported by limbs, and has, literally, helocopter game. This game is the best! I would completly recomend it!

Blacker than a black cat in a black room at night
I've never played any other Rayman game so I'll review this as what it is, not by comparison with other games I have no intention of buying.

This is a great little platform game. Rayman is a bizarre bodyless character who runs around in typical platform style jumping from falling bridges to wobbly platforms, from precarious tree trunks to wobbly boats all the while dodging baddies, electric fences and exploding powder kegs. The character controls are interesting and entertaining. With a minimal number of buttons we have Rayman jumping, shooting, flying round like a helicopter, trampolining, gliding in thermals and taking part in a whole variety of different actions. The gameplay is great.

BUT...this game has a major flaw. You can't actually see any of the above unless you take your DS into a dark room, or maybe hide under a dark blanket. Although the variety of locations and characters in the game seem to be begging for bright colours, apart from Rayman himself this game basically uses two colours - black and dark black.In daylight or a normally lit indoor room you can't actually see to play! Even in a dark room it's hard to tell whether that line coming up is just a crack in the path or a gaping hole that needs jumping over. It's hard to know how Ubisoft could have made this error. It means that when testing they either forced their testers to work in a dark room, or maybe they never actually used a real DS but just tested on an emulated machine. Either way it's pretty shoddy. The great thing about Rayman DS is the fun of having a 3D platformer in a portable format. Unfortunately portability isn't much use when there are few places you can play it. Just a tiny tweak to the texture maps is all you need to turn this game into a masterpiece.

I have some other minor quibbles too. Nintendo proved quite definitively, with Mario 64, that the touch screen can't be used effectively as a substitute for an analog joystick. So why have Ubisoft made exactly the same error? On the other hand, the game is fairly tolerant of errors. Walking off the edge of a cliff is rarely fatal as Rayman usually catches on the edge in his hands, and shooting seems to be accurate even if Rayman is 10-20 degrees off. So this problem is merely an annoyance, not a show stopper.

So, in summary: if you don't mind playing in a dark room this is an excellent platformer that will entertain you for many hours. I think it's a little tricky to play, maybe because my reflexes aren't what they used to be. Highly recommended. But if you're looking for an electronic game to take with you on summer trip, forget it unless you can play under a hood.

A full Multi-Category Review by a Rayman fan
For those of you who have played Rayman 2: The Great Escape for the Nintendo 64, you may be a little disappointed by this re-release of the legendary 64-bit era game. Instead of coming back in its full glory and brilliance, the game is released as a slightly downgraded version that has the only advantage of being portable. After seeing how Super Mario 64 came to the DS as Super Mario 64 DS and managed to be better than its predecessor, I still think Ubisoft could've done a lot more with Rayman DS.
Now, here's a Multi-Category review based on a 10-point rating system, in which Rayman DS will be judged in these 7 categories: Graphics, Sound, Control, Plotline, Glitches, Entertainment, and Replay Value, which are all averaged into an Overall Rating. This review was made while I was up to the level called "The Precipice".

GRAPHICS: The Rayman games are famous for their exceptional visuals, and almost every game is a masterpiece graphically. This was true of Rayman 2, which boasted beautiful textures, lush backgrounds, and a unique art style.
How disappointing that Rayman DS doesn't live up to the N64 version. While it still acheives quite a lot, though are numerous things that reduce this title's shine. First off, this game has lost some detail in its textures, which most of the game's beauty comes from. However, to all but the most careful observer, these changes may not be noticeable. Second, the game's colorful environments appear dark on the screen in most lighting situations. And strangely enough, I found that the best way to make the graphics appear brighter and clearer is to play with the backlight on in a completely dark room. Don't ask me why it works, it just does. Overall, the game still looks good, but most of the polish from the original seems to be gone. RATING: 8

SOUND: Alright, the biggest problem here is that the game is strangely quiet, even at full volume. Of course, the solution here is to play someplace where there's little to no noise (like that dark room I mentioned earlier). There are some minor changes in some musical scores, but for the most part, everything sounds just like the original. And although the characters speak, they just babble gibberish like in the original (good thing there was the invention of text boxes), and the only English word Rayman says is "Stop!" near the start of the game. The game's quietness makes this hardly noticeable, so don't even try to listen to them. RATING: 7.5

CONTROL: The game nearly fails here. There are two control modes, including the D-Pad and a virtual control stick on the Touch Screen. The D-Pad is worthless, don't even try it, and Super Mario 64 DS did a much better job at controlling the character with the Touch Screen than this game does. Levels with Walking Shells, powder keg flights, and ridable plums are more of lessons in anger management than the thrilling rides they were in the original, and learning to precisely control Rayman to do stuff like tip toe past sleeping RoboPirates takes some practice. Also, the A and B buttons have been switched (I still mix them up at times). The camera controls are also poorly done. This game seems to be a demo demonstrating that the DS needs a real control stick peripheral soon. RATING: 5

PLOTLINE: Same as the original: help Rayman defeat the RoboPirates and reunite the 1000 yellow Lum fragments of the Heart of the World.
It can be good at times. RATING: 8

GLITCHES: This game is crawling with them. From white lines that appear briefly on the landscape to silent areas in the game, you can find one programming fault every 5 minutes. Thankfully, they are minor enough to not ruin the gameplay (or what's left of it after the control issues). RATING: 7

ENTERTAINMENT: With some areas frustrating and other areas like a chore to play, most gamers will have no problem putting the game down, but some Rayman fans may still get some fun out of it. RATING: 6.5

REPLAY VALUE: One time through will be enough for most gamers who don't feel like finding all the cages and yellow Lums. RATING: 6

OVERALL RATING: 6.9

A fun twist to the original Pac Man game.
I have been having a lot of fun with this game. It is very innovative and really utilizes the touch screen. I mean, how fun to draw your own Pac Man and watch it come to life to play the game with! The object of the game (yes, there is one contrary to what other people have said) is to fight the ghosts and turn them back into "ghost ink". They had invaded all the pictures and books, but Pac Man was able to conquer most of the ghosts with his "magic pen" and put the rest of them together in one last book. But before he could turn them back into ghost ink, they put a curse on him. Now he is in the paper and it is up to you and Pac Man, along with the "magic pen" (your stylus), to finish the job and save the last book. You go through the chapters of the book and each chapter has levels to where you have to eat all the ghosts in order to advance to the next level or chapter. As you advance you earn weapons to help you along the way. There are also other fun things involved in this game but I don't want to spoil it for the people who get it. My favorite part of the game (besides making your drawings come to life) is trying to beat the bosses at the end of each stage. My only gripe is that if you don't beat a boss, you have to go back to the beginning of that stage and do all the levels in that chapter again. But that I think is a minor thing. The game gets harder as you go on and there are new things added and more to do to keep you interested. I don't find this game boring at all and it keeps me real busy and interested. Overall, I think Pac Pix is a cool game and is worth getting. It even makes me laugh at times, like if I draw a really funny Pac Man or he goes the wrong way. I don't have any regrets with buying this game.

Way too repetative
I'm not entirely sure why the Nintendo DS can't get very many decent games.Pac Pix is a VERY INNOVATIVE game, but the problem is in the gameplay.It's unique, and for that I gave it three stars instead of two.But it's repetative gameplay makes this less fun to play.Especially because it gets old real fast.

First of all, let me say this.It's really cool to draw your own pac-man and watch him chomp away at your enemies.It's also really cool to be able to guide him by drawing walls and such.Really, it's innovative stuff.You can also draw arrors to shoot at missiles that come raining down on you.

The problem is this kind of gameplay gets old really fast.There's not much of a story (as a previous reviewer already said, if you didn't like Yoshi Touch and Go, you won't like this game).The only point is to get a high score and beat the game.It's also really short.There's no point putting down thirty dollars for a game like this.It's way too short, with very little replay value.

Graphic wise, this game is actually kind of neat.I love the way Pac-man looks, and I like the soft booklike look this game has.It's rather nice to see.The music is mixed from previous pac-man titles (arcade mostly).

Seriously, this can be a fun game.The problem is, it's too repetative.Sometimes being repative isn't bad, but in this case it is. Especially because you don't do much of anything!Fire arrows and draw lines for pac-man to follow.That's about it, actually.There's no challenge to it either, and it's too short.

Don't spend your money on this game.It's really innovative, that's for damn sure.But don't go blowing your money on a game that's not a whole lot of fun after two hours.

Very Fun, wish it was longer
One of my favorite cartoons growing up (I cannot remember it's name) was one in which an old guy would draw things on a chalkboard and then they would come to life.This is sort of what happens in this game, and also a possible preview for future, more sophisticated DS games.

You are able to draw pacman (I love giving him a Simpsons look with an overbite)and then see your drawing come to life and start carpet munching.You then control the direction by drawing lines.The goal is to complete several stages that make up a chapter and beat your previous higher score.There are 12 chapters in all.This is such a fun game, that replay value is huge, as you can replay levels to constantly try to beat youor hight score.In a sense, it is like a racing game, as your have a time limit.

I have not played it enough to get to the levels in which you draw bombs or arrows, but am guess they are just as fun.

Overall, this is a unique and fun game that is well worth the price. I only wish they had 20 stages and not just 12.And it is also a very welcome addition to a very sparse and disapointing DS line up.

not bad if you like high score games
If you found Yoshi Touch & Go lacking, DO NOT BUY THIS GAME. This is another one of those games that many like to call "tech demos" -- simple games with no story (or a REALLY simple one) and a major emphasis of improving your high score.

In Pac-Pix, you draw a Pac Man (with your "magic pen") to get rid of all the ghosts on the level. Each level is a page in a chapter, and there are 12 chapters in all.

It's a pretty short game, but there are a few unlockable extras (cards) and improving your high score is a fun pick-up-and-play kind of thing. Also, the levels do progressively get harder -- soon you'll be drawing arrows to deflect off mirrors and bombs.

It's a very creative game overall, and perfect fun for novice and expert gamers alike. Just be prepared for a very simple presentation, mediocre (but still nice) graphics, and being able to "beat it" in about a week. ... Read more

One of the best DS games out there.
At, first this game seems wierd....and it is. But that doesn't mean it isn't great. This game uses every part of the DS system, but the buttons. The missions range in anything from spray-painting a wall with the touch screen to blowing out a giant candle with the DS' microphone. The story mode is wierd and fun, but pretty short. However, once you complete it you are treated to new costumes for your character's girlfriend as well hard and hell modes. I have beaten this game 100% and i know that it is one of the funnest, most re-playable DS games in existence.

Great Fun, Poor Value
Luckily you can play through this game quickly.The fun is replaying the mini-games, and some of them are VERY out there.Definitely not for children (one of the games is helping a girl out of her clothes (in silhouette , but still...)

whoa freaky game...u havent used the ds til u used it to make a man puke out fish and all to impress a girl. wow the japanese have the weirdest ways to impress girls. blowing ouut candles? the good part is that this game is quite a game of graphics it seems so real. The bad part is when someone asks u why u are rubbing a video console while the sound of a man puking is coming out. Buy the game i mean uve got to explore every part of the ds and i mean e v e r y s i n g l e p a r t.

Perfect for mobility
Adding to the other reviews, I will just say that this is the game that I play the most on my DS. Why? because of what I said in the title. The game is easy to pick up and leave, gameplay is intuitive, and except for a couple of microphone missions, you only need the stylus to play. Not only that, but when you're done you can play any of the completed minigames as many times as you wish. It's like having a portable PC full of java games. If you intend to play for more than a few minutes something like mario would better, but you can't beat this game for a quick gaming fix.

The animation is both comical and charming, and the graphics fluid and pleasant to the eye. The game keeps its own original style all the way trough both the story and minigames. The music is definitely different. It's enjoyable and catchy, but some more variety would have been welcome.

As for educational value, like a previous reviewer said this game requires a lot of hand-eye coordination, so kids get to develop those skills as well. For a young kid, though, I think warioware would be more entertaining. The most educational thing about this game is, however, the big warning sign at the beginning telling kids not to try any of the stunts at home.

I don't really think I have been both weirded out and entertained by a game since I played Parappa on the playstation. This is definitely a must-have game if you like using the stylus. ... Read more

Good Puzzle Game for DS
The only other version of Puyo Pop I've played was on the GBA and I have to say that Puyo Pop Fever is an improvement in just about every way. The graphics are about as slick and colorful as you're going to get on a Tetris like puzzle game but this is definitely not a game that's designed to exploit the dual screens. The action is all on the top screen and although you can use the stylus interface to control your Puyo I prefer using the classic button control system.

Every game with dropping blocks tends to get labeled a `Tetris clone' but Puyo Pop is more closely akin to Dr. Mario in that the goal is to align like colors to free up space. With Fever, players now get to contend with new three and four block Puyo's. The hook is that when four or more blocks of the same color touch and disintegrate you also wreak havoc on your opponent's area. As blocks are obliterated other blocks may drop into the freed up space causing additional colors to align and `pop'. This is called chaining and the more chaining you can perform the more nastiness you throw your opponent's way. Players are forced to arrange for chaining rather than just try and clear their era.

The new `fever' mode is a way to cause some hellacious mayhem by setting up ready made chains that can be capitalized on when placing blocks in the perfect spot. Suddenly five and six chains become easy to perform.

One of the flaws in the GBA version was the problem of over efficiency. If you clear out your own area you suddenly find yourself caught with no defense. Fever corrects the problem by rewarding good play rather than punishing it. When an area is cleared the game drops a pile of new blocks into your area with ready made chains that can be exploited. This small tweak makes a huge improvement in the game. The game still seems to play a bit unfair against the CPU. Winning and losing is often as much a matter of poor play on the part of the CPU as it is stellar play on the part of the player. I've had many games where I seemed to be playing well and lost and others where I was playing poorly and quickly won.

Some say this is the best yet.
If you like the series, then you've more than likely been waiting for a new addition and this fits in perfectly. Quite simply It's puyo pop at it's best with the inclusion of an all new Fever mode and up to 8 player mayhem. Don't worry if you don't have 7 other people to play with.. the CPU can fill in any empty spots.

Really poor classic versions
If you want to play the classic version, get the GBA Atari collection instead.NDS Retro Atari Classics doesn't even try to be authentic.The classic modes for the included games appear to be an afterthough.

The new versions are mostly unplayable.

Classic fun
This compilation of classic Atari games includes Asteroids, Breakout, Centipede, Gravitar, Lunar Lander, Pong, Missile Command, Sprint, Tempest, and Warlords. This is a great buy for fans of classic arcade games, offering the additional lure of dual screen action and optional stylus control. Warlords even provides multiplayer action. Each version has both a classic version and a "remix" with new graphics, although in general I found that the remixed versions left me cold.

For the most part, the games work well with stylus control, and a few really shine. Missile Command is particularly impressive, and is the first home version I've seen that really captures the excitement of the trackball controlled coin-op original. Both screens are used. Incoming missiles are first visible on the upper screen, although satellites and bombers fly across the top of the lower screen. Antimissiles are fired simply by tapping the target point. Although stylus control must be done on the lower touch sensitive screen, you can hold down L, and your stylus clicks are transmitted to the corresponding location of the upper screen. However, this is a bit tricky, and by later levels I found myself working on the lower screen entirely. Graphics are a bit simplified compared to the arcade original, but work well on the small screen. The one thing I really miss is huge, expanding Game Over fireball, which has been dropped for some reason. Still, it is not a full recreation of the coin-op. As in most home versions, you do not have independent control of your 3 missile bases, eliminating a strategy element that was present in the arcade. Also, the "smart" missiles are much less smart than in the original version.

Tempest also works quite well with the pad, although it takes a bit more practice to get used to this input method than with Missile Command. You move your man by scratching left or right on the trackscreen. The lower display depicts a one-dimensional roller controller. Perhaps memory fades, but I remember the original having a spinner knob. I wish there was an option to control it by drawing circles, instead of scratching back and forth. Still, the control of your man works very well, with a bit of momentum that lets you recreate the sensation of spinning the controller.

Centipede (which originally had a trackball) also worked pretty well with the pad, but I couldn't get as enthusiastic about it. I'm not sure if it was the control scheme or if I'm just not that enthusiastic about the game anymore. A nice feature is that the two screens does a good job of simulating the sideways monitor of the coin-op.

Breakout works perfectly with the pad, providing impeccable control of the paddle. The two screens again simulate a sideways monitor, although there is a small problem (also evident on Missile Command) in that the screens behave "as if" they were contiguous, when there is actually a small gap between them. This creates a refractive effect that makes it hard to correctly extrapolate diagonal movement of the ball (or missile tracks) crossing from the top screen to the bottom one. But Breakout is just too simple a game to have much appeal. I found myself wishing for Arkanoid, or at least Super Breakout.

Asteroids doesn't really need a trackpad--it was a button control game in the arcades. Still, Atari has provided a pad control mechanism that actually works quite well, although you can also use the buttons. I was never much of an Asteroids fan, but it seemed to work well. All of the games include "Remix" versions with updated graphics. For most of the games, I did not find the remix graphics appealing. Asteroids was an exception, with a novel geometric theme.

Gravitar was ruinously difficult in the arcades. That is preserved here, and made more so by the small DS display. I'm glad to have it, but it really needs a big monitor.

For the price, I'd consider the package to be a bargain. Two of the games, Missile Command and Tempest, are topnotch adaptations that benefit from the touchpad, and retain their addictive appeal.

Some of the other choices are a bit odd. Why Breakout and not SuperBreakout? Why not Millipede instead of Centipede? Why no Crystal Castles? I'm hoping this means that Atari is contemplating a sequel, perhaps one that would rectify the greatest omission: Quantum. Quantum was a brilliantly original Atari coin-op that was never widely distributed, probably because it was released just before the great arcade crash of '83. You used a trackball to draw circles around "particles." It would seem tailor made for the touchpad. Perhaps next time.

I hope that other manufacturers of classic coin-ops follow Atari's example and take another look at their classic games with an eye toward the DS and its touch pad, especially for games with trackballs or other non-joystick controls. I'dlove to see a DS version of Reactor, for example.

This is good. Just give it a chance.
This is a fairly good ds game. I don't quite understand why everybody hates it. Just give it a chance. Now don't take me as a "thinking every game is good" kind of kid. I've reviewed Resident Evil 4, DMC 3, Doom 3, Half-Life 2, all of the Silent Hill games. So anyways, this is a very good game. It does have it's cons though. The remixes are very disappointing, being the same exact thing as the regular versions, just new characters. All in all this is a very good ds game. It is the 3rd best DS game that I own and I own 4 DS games. It is worse than Feel the Magic and Warioware Touched, but better than the "not very good at all" Yoshi's touch and go. That is all.

I gotta agree with the other reviewer, this game is difficult to play.While the stylus works well with certain games, i.e. Zookeeper, it doesn't work out well on this game.Further, the games are not really arcade-like (not as finely detailed at all), and the remix versions are even worse.But there are 10 games, making it less than $3 each, and I guess that gives you some bang for your buck.Just don't expect too much. ... The Worst Game I've Ever Wasted Time On
I don't understand how Vivendi Universal could turn out such swill for a piece of hardware such as the DS that offers so much.

The DS has wireless capabilities, a microphone for things like voice and sound recognition, a normal screen and a touch screen. So, what do we get out of a Robot's DS game? A nearly exact port of the GBA version of the game. This wouldn't be so bad if the GBA version also wasn't such a mediocre version, but it is. Here's the run down on the DS version:

Graphics: poor. might have been ok for SNES, but doesn't cut in on a brand new platform.

Sound: Equally poor. Repetetive and anooying.

Gameplay: Boring at best, frustrating at worst. The game is slow, story thin, enemies few and far between, and the physics engine is horrid. You'll spend more time walking from one place to another, doing nothing, than you will doing anything else.

Positive aspects: The only halfway decent thing to note is the robot transport system, when you control a ball speeding through the robot city. Control is poor, the feature is repetitive, but it is the only thing to even hint at what the game could actually have been like.

I know the lack of DS games may be frustrating, but don't get this just to have another game. Wait a few more weeks and there will be some good ones coming.

Graphically Okay, But not as fun!
Robots is pretty much a port of the GBA game but with a few added features to utilize the touchpad. The graphics are pretty decent on the DS, but the gameplay and replay value could use a little help. I suggest you rent the game or try it out before you buy. It's great for the kids, but for the average adult, you may want to look elsewhere. Try WarioWare Touched! It's a game with great replay value!

PSP stupid

Spider-loser 2
Oh gees, another DS game with no touch-screen. A big disappointment. Spider-man 2 blows. The lack of fighting and touchy "web slinging" moves kind of draws you out of the game. An with no map it's hard to see where you are going without flying into fire or a thug. Don't waste your time... better yet, avoid the DS. Only 16 games. Only 5 use the touchscreen. You can kiss nintendo goodbye now that the PSP is on the market with 26 games.

I expected more...
I'm a gamer. that's all there is to it. I saw this game at target and then wasted 39 bucks on it. this game is cruddy. it's gameplay is rather slow, and 2-D. Really i expected more. the ds is capaple of so much, with the added help of the touch screen. you start out with 3 special abilitys, and it's imposible to get more, exept with cheats. Then i saw the PSP version, and i was stunned. All i want is to save you people from wasting 30 bucks. Might i reccomend Rayman DS.

When I got this game for easter i was really happy because I thought it was just like the ps2 one but I was wrong ...
