1-0 out of 5 stars Immediate Bad POT
Feels great but I too have been burned with a bad POT. If this was a car it would be recalled immediately ! Too bad they did not go to extreme measures to ensure a quality product. Looks feels great. Currently just a nice looking conversation piece.

Still waiting on my replacement POT.........

1-0 out of 5 stars Works Great for a few months....then croaks!!!
This is truly an impressive joystick/throttle combination. I was overjoyed when I got this as a gift. It worked great for the first few months of use. Unfortunately, the system fell into disrepair, mainly because of poor quality pots. This is a common problem with these units. After spending an entire day taking apart the throttle and cleaning the pots with jewelers glases, reinstalling the firmware and finally giving up, I am looking for a replacement. It REALLY BUGS ME to see what was spent on this item and see how shabbily it was constructed. LET THE BUYER BEWARE !!!

1-0 out of 5 stars Hardware problems ruin Hotas Cougar.
I always loved Thrustmaster products but the Hotas Cougar is a dud. Far too many of the units have hardware problems. Mine has a problem that every few minutes causes the computer to think that it is not attached to the computer. It loses calibration when it does this. After a lot of effort I got the company to accept a return on it, but they sent it back saying it was fine. I have bought the CH products controllers and have had absolutely no problems. They are the way to go.

5-0 out of 5 stars TM Cougars:For Hard-Core FltSimmers and tech gurus
Personal Testimony:
Well, Ive been into flightsimming since 1985. Ive owned every one of Thrustmaster's flight controllers since the: FCS/WCS, FLCS/TQS, FLCS-Pro/TQS, FLCS-Pro/TQS w/Dig Upgrade Chips, and now the Cougar FLCS and TQS controller set. All of these still exist are in working order in my "collection bin", except that Im using the Cougars presently.

I have not needed to fix the Cougars and Ive had them for about 2+ years now. With proper care (dust covers and keeping the dust off them), not beating on the stick & throttlem or hamfisting the little switches when using, proper electrical care when plugging them (they do contain electro-static sensitive EEPROM chip); they will last a long long time. These are not plastic like all the previous TM controllers, but rather are metal. Being in a Falcon4 flight sim squadron, I put in about 5-10 hours a week using the Cougars. So my Cougars have been used for at least 1000 hours and dont have a scratch or exhibit any spiking or other symptoms.

Reliability:
While it is true that many have bad pots and switches either from the day they were recieved or after 100s and 1000s of hours of use, the vast majority do not experience this kind of mechanical failure. TM will send you the parts for free if you write/email/call them. Yes, it did take about 4 months for me to get backup parts (I didnt need them yet). And yes, there are HALL Effect (electro-magnetic parts) to replace the moving pots (potentiometers) which make the controllers even more long lasting. This would be for those with the money and is very worth the investment if youre logging 100s of hours in your favorite flight sim.

Complexity:
Cougars are not for the techically challenged or timid flight simmer. You will have to know how to program in the TM button command file language (or just slightly modify the existing ones to meet your needs), know how to hook up your flight controllers to work with the Cougars, understand Windows controller utility, use the TM Command and Control setup software, use the FOXY stick file editor and Cougar maintenance software (which is super), understand flight controls as they relate to the aircraft you are simulating an how that maps to the stick buttons and axes, understand the complex flight sim (for hard core simmers that would be: Falcon4, LockOn, MS-FS, IL2 and others).

Support:
Thrustmaster controllers, and COUGARs in particular have a super user community of technologically adept users that are there to help world wide due to the web forums. (...).
With almost a 100 Falcon4 and LockOn online flight squadrons, which you can find with any inet search engine, there are lots of opportunities to get help and join a online flight squadron. The software and bios (flash micro code) is a free download, as are many user controller files. The negative side is that this is a French and Canadian business (Guillemot) that took over the American owned Thrustmaster company, so there are delays in getting parts and finding new units. One often has to find them on Amazon or Ebay (and I dont advise buying used ones as you may be buying a damaged set).

Value:
Or bang-for-the-buck? One movie date with condiments will cost you near $50 for about 2 hours of fun, or $25/hr. You will get 100s-1000s of hours with TM Cougars. Thats $300/100 or about $3/hour if you only fly 100 hours total (which is not very hard core flight simmer). Thats just the quantitative value. For the qualitative value you have the realism, full functionality and "feel". Realism wise, I own a real FLCS and TQS from a F16-A fighter jet. When you put the Cougars next to the real set, they are almost identical in form and function. In fact, the functionality of the Cougars are user definable due to their programmability - where as the real ones have set functions. Just put the Cougars in your hands, and you will feel the solid construction and will have as close as you can come to the real things in the palm of your hands.

Realism:
See for yourself, compare these real HOTAS from a F16-A with the picture of the COUGARs which emulate those found in a F16-C:
(...)
In closing, the TM Cougars have a steep learning curve and require care, patience, perserverance, technical skills and some serious bucks. They are clearly for the high end or "hard core" flight simmer. The CH Products Pedal Pro (gameport or USB) work well with the Cougars. If you want force feed back, I recommend that you instead get a MS Sidewinder Pro2 USB which is a stick, throttle and rudder with FFB all in one with limited user function programmability. Other sticks and throttles Ive tried like: Saitek and Ch Prod have their place, but must bow to the king of controllers: the TM Cougars.

Fair skies and check six,
AV8R

2-0 out of 5 stars Badly disappointed
At a cost of $269 this was touted as "the last joystick (HOTAS) you'll ever buy." Wrong!! In less than 2 months, the potentiometers (pots) started giving out and caused a lot of stick spike in Aces High. Thrustmaster pointed me to Amazon and Amazon pointed me to Thrustmaster. I pointed to a hole in my wallet and a stick that was barely usable. This seems to be a well known problem and new pots can be had for another hundred bucks. I sold mine as is, took a $100 hit and bought CH USB stick, throttle and peds. It will be a cold day in hell before I spent another nickel with Thrustmaster. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars This is the best ds game ever!
This game is extremly fun.You get decorate your car and give it better upgrades.Anyone who has a ds should get this game.

4-0 out of 5 stars Almost Flawless
Overall: Overall, if you really enjoy the street car life, girls, cars, and the VROM VROM sound, then yeah, NFSU2 is for you. There are some flaws though, but overall, I would say with no doubts that this is the most fun game in the racing genra. If I had to say what the most entertaining part of the game is, I would definately say the customization by the way.

----------------------------------------------------------------
Gameplay
----------------------------------------------------------------
4.5 - What I think that seperates NFSU2 is the customization. Driving around in your own boring stock cars gets boring, and just doing race after race just plain blows. Well, the guys at EA came up with the idea of being able to customize your performance, your body style, your paint job, and your specialties (neon, spinners). There are literally thousands of combinations of cars possible, and you can let the clown out in you and make a hilarious wierdo car, or let the ladies man come out, and make a rockin' pimp mobile. The only flaw in the gameplay, is traffic. Traffic was an idiotic idea. You'll justbe driving along, and you'll go on a turn, and you'll blindly smash into a car, and have to restart the race, and sometimes on really long races, this gets really irritating.

----------------------------------------------------------------
Sound
----------------------------------------------------------------
5.0 - The sound is what makes this game just plain awesome. The tracks range from techno, to heavy metal, to hip-hop. They already have them preset so the techno and heavy metal play when you're racing, and the hip-hop when you're in a shop. If you want to switch around when the songs play, you can by going to EA Trax in the menu. I have never ever had a problem with the sound. A+.

----------------------------------------------------------------
Graphics
----------------------------------------------------------------
4.0 - The graphics are really quite impressive in this game. Especially for a Nintendo DS. The lighting effects really impress me. The only problem is the crashes. If you look carefully, if you hit a car in a head-on collision, your front bumper will go through it, and come back out. Sometimes it glitches because it ends up loading while you're racing, and you will look like you're hopping. The graphics aren't the game's best feat, but they still are pretty dang cool.

5-0 out of 5 stars Fun but challenging
NFSU2 is the best game-Hands down- made for the DS so far,yes even better than Mario "duh". The graphics are awesome but the music could be better. There are challenging parts in the game where you might become frustrated but you could try another game mode. Sometimes traffic gets on your nerves but it's all cool after you get the hang of cars going the other way. What I don't get is that almost every time an opposing car runs into you flip over. This game allows you to remake or coustimize the cars that you own. NFSU2 brings together ALL street racing characteristics. I give fun 4 stars and I would recomend this game to anyone.

5-0 out of 5 stars WHAT A LIE IS A LIE!
make sure you all know that jurk who said what a lie was a company F****er HE WAS PAYED TO DO THAT
EVERYTHING IT SAYS IS ACTUALLY THERE THE BEST DS GAME I HAVE THE NITROUS is fun mini games get a lil hard music only problem is annoying graphics are better than mario
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

5-0 out of 5 stars COOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL!!!
This game is cool! The only con is the sound(drum beats are stupid).Anybody who didn't like this game didn't give it a chance. Also the fact that you need 2+ cartriges to play multiplayer. But the graphics and control more than make up for that!Overall I recommend this game to anyone who likes cool racing and pimpin out their car. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars FUN BUT EXTREMELY HARD
FIRST OF ALL I AM A BIG STAR WARS FAN AND THIS GAME ROCKS BUT YOU MUST BE REALLY CLEVER AOMETIMES THE LEVELS ARE SO HARD I HAD TO YOUS CHEATS TO UNLOCK THE OTHER LEVELS BUT THEN I BEAT THE OTHERS.
P.S. CAN SOMEONE HELP ME I'M ONYAVIN FINAL CONFLICT AND WHEN YOU GET TO THE THREE PLACES TO GO I8 HAVE KNOW IDEA WHTA TO DO BECAUSE IPUT OUT THE FIRE AND THEN PUSHED THE WALLS BACK AND NOW DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO PLEASE HELP ME.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great star wars title!
This is a great game for any skilled star wars game freak. The graphics are pretty good and the gameplay is very fun and challenging don't listen to the negative reviews claiming the game is to hard, the people who claim it's to hard are just weak at video games granted the game can frustrate but it never get's to the point where you want to throw the game out the window. This is a good game and I highly recomend it to and star wars fan. p.s. don't buy jedi academy that game is horrible! what a shame to ruin the series like that!

4-0 out of 5 stars Action Packed!!!
My computer was to slow to play it. So I had to wait till it came out on Xbox. I had high hopes for this game and it did not let me down. The first two levels were kinda dull for me because I wanted to use a lightsaber. But after the first two levels it was granted and the game shined differently in my eyes. The gameplay after that point was action packed and I can say I never thought to brandish a gun ever again. From your first lightsaber dual up to the secret stage of the game, I have enjoyed the gameplay experience. I even find myself returning to the jedi action once and a while to slaughter stormtroopers and take in some of the big environments. If it wasn't for certain levels were I was constantly plummeting to my death I would have gave it five stars. I'm not a big Star Wars freak but just buy this game if you like the movies, it won't let you down.

5-0 out of 5 stars tHiS gAmE rOcKs!
I first got this game about 2 years ago for computer.Back then, I had a really slow computer, and it didn't work right.I was so mad that I had wasted 40 dollars on it.It went on the shelf and waited there for 2 years. Now I have a better computer and play it all the time. The earlier reviewer said that the game was extremely difficult, not so.The guy must have obviously been a moron, and not been able to figure out the puzzles, because the game has an average difficulty, and if he wants it easier, he can play on Padawan.Anyway, the game is basically a first person shooter based game, where you go around blasting storm troopers, probe droids, and more.I suggest getting this game because I really enjoy playing it, and I want to get it for XBOX too.

4-0 out of 5 stars Dumb, Boring, And Extreamly Hard!!!
I think its safe to say that this game sucks! Before I got this game I thought it would be great. I had heard so many good things about it. Once I got it though I realized that this game wasnt as great as everyone said it would be. The Graphics are ok but the gameplay and sound dont impress me at all. Plus you dont get your lightsaber until level 7 unless you use cheat codes. As for all the talk about you being able to use the force the force is pretty weak in this game. You also dont get the force until level 7 and on some of the missions you cant even use all your force power like lightning, push, pull, ect. Really the only good force power is grip.(Grip allows you to choke people)Another thing that sucks is that there are different powers of the force so when you finally get the force you have to build up your power of the force for a few levels (wich could take hours) to finally get your force power strong enough to kill the enemy, not just wound him. This game is also EXTREAMLY hard. Its like Metroid Prime were you can get lost and it'll take a long time to find your way around. If you still want to get this game after reading this review is suggest renting it first.(Dont Be Dumb like me and buy it without renting it. I wasted $50) ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Its a good game, but it is fairly dated
Okay, most RE fans know this storyline, the rookie cop goes to Raccoon City on the first day of the job to find the city overrun by zombies. On the other side of town Claire Redfield is in search of her brother, Chris.

Okay, now I know what your (some of you) are thinking.I gotta buy this for new and improved graphics like the remake.I'm sorry to disappoint you, but there is nothing new here in fact, its just a port of the PS1's dual shock edition of this game.

You will not find the EX memos or the 'Randomizer' option like the N64 game, but the Scenario A & B missions are still here along with the 4th Survivor and Tofu Survivor missions.

If you already own this game, don't expect much, except for better loading times. Also, if you're trying to figure out which version to buy, I would suggest the N64 version. If you don't own the N64, then stick with the dual shock edition, it can be found for a lower price in many gaming stores.

Pros:
- Faster loading times

Cons:
- No updated graphics
- Just a port of the Dual Shock Edition for PS
- No EX files or the 'Randomizer' option are to be found

5-0 out of 5 stars A great game, and a great port.
This game is a port from the original release on Playstation one, as well as dreamcast. It is well worth the buy. It was a great, breakthrough game when it came out, and it still is.
These reviewers don't seem to get the point. Yes, capcom did not remake this game or the other games, but they AT LEAST gave us a port. They could have not done anything and left us with just the new games. But, because they know we all love RESIDENT EVIL 2, as well as the others, (And we probably do not own a dreamcast or PS1 anymore) they made a port for us.
Graphics: At the time a 10. Now, probably down to 5. But still, an overall ten for when it first came out. (Check out the pictures I uploaded)
Replay value: 10. With four different endings (2 Leon and 2 Claire), two extra mini game characters Hunk and Tofu, an extra mini "battle" game, about two or three new weapons with infinite ammo and new costumes, this game will keep a devoted fan busy for hours.
Loading Time: Not a problem at all.
Everything else gets a 10. It is just an awesome port overall.
The only small problem is the sound. At times, it can be hard to hear, but I don't mind it, which is why this game still got a 10.
Don't get me wrong, RE2 should have DEFINATELY had a remake, since it was the best game in the series and all. Maybe one day...
Buy this game if you do not already own it for gamecube, even if you already have it for PS1 or Dreamcast...Or both!

4-0 out of 5 stars NnyCW for Capcom City
Resident Evil 2 greatly improved upon the original version of Resident Evil (though the remake of it bests this at best and ties it at worst) Everything you liked about the original Resident Evil is made better and everything that was a problem in the original is fixed here. And the ability to play as Leon and Claire as well as alternate scenarios for both of them mean this game sure as hell has replay value. (you have to play the game thru four times, all of which are different, before you've really beaten the game) If you don't have Resident Evil 2 by now, there is no reason not to finally pick up a copy of this CW for CapCity.

5-0 out of 5 stars best ps1 game ever
this game is so much fun i wish that the movie was half as good
the backround music and sound effects were the best i ever heard
its plain fun and simple i think it would be cool if they had a semi randomizing level scares so that the surprises wouldnt get old

1-0 out of 5 stars Just Plain Lazy
What is the point. Capcom goes to all the trouble of giving the original Resident Evil a face life and then they just decide to get lazy and port the game to GCN?
What is the logic of paying $40- $50 on a game that has no new improvements,
no added storyline or features of any kind, a graphics that are archaic by today's standards? You can probably find it on Ebay for $5 - $10 for PS1.
Total Rip off. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars great game
Mercenaries takes place in Korea, sometime after the Korean War.You'll notice such things on your map as the Demilitarized Zone. There are 4 groups you can sign contracts with: Allies, South Koreans, Chinese, and Russian Mafia.North Koreans are always your enemies no matter what.Other reviewers have said that this game is a lot like GTA, which is true in that you can steal vehicles, it's a third person shooter, and you can do basically whatever you want.I think it's better in a few ways: 1) you can steal HELICOPTERS 2) you don't have to drive around to find a gun shop, you can have ANYTHING dropped off right in front of you by a helicopter, including health, guns, vehicles 3) you can order bombs dropped using satellites to pinpoint the location

Some cons for this game include:
1) Doesn't work with my wireless controllers, game skips.
2) Boss battles, called Ace contracts, are really hard.
3) Spontaneous death is definitely an option, whether it's someone hitting you in the face with a well-placed rocket, getting bombed by some helicopter, flying in a helicopter and suddenly being hit by anti-air missiles, having someone snipe you, getting hit by a tank, etc.
4) Not really sure how to get allied troops to help you.I was given some troops as "support" for one of the Ace contracts and they just sat there and did nothing.
5) You get charged money for civilian casualties.
6) When your radar gets jammed you can't order air strikes or supply drops which gets really annoying.
7) Can't save in the middle of a mission, so if you die you go back to the beginning.

Overall this is a great game, but it can get really frustrating at times. Don't expect to be invincible like some reviews suggest. This game requires military strategizing if you don't want to get blown up going in like a madman, guns blazing.

4-0 out of 5 stars More pleasurable/not as deep as GTA
GTA really set the mold for freeform gaming, and it is the game by which other "copy-cats" are compared. It truly revolutionized a particular style of gaming. However,Ample credit (and $$)has been laid at Rockstar's feet, so here's to hoping that games can be judged on their own merits from this point on. After all, Miles Davis pioneered numerous styles in Jazz and launched "copycats," but what Jazz fans appreciated was what other musicians brought to Davis's initial creation(s). So, okay, Mercenaries vehicle physics pale in comparrison. But the question is: how does it deviate? Simple: it gives us splendid arcade war! Why would a gamer be interested in the car tricks that one can pull (ala GTA) when playing this? Its WAR! When playing a war game, my motivation is to hurt the enemy before he can hurt me...and since, in this game, I owe no particular alliegence to any nation, I get to cause much hurt. The vehicles are tools o' destruction, for Pete's sake!My only want in the vehicle dept. is that they never provided a heavily armed 'copter. But, man! I sure had a blast when I got my hands on my first No. Korean tank(spent an hour in a No. Korean base blowin' stuff up-cathartic destruction indeed, great escape from the stresses of the real word).Really improved upon GTA's gun targeting system (Rockstar disappointed me so much in their not improving this aspect during Vice City's release, that I'm not buying another GTA game till the fix this).Anyway, Mercenaries' A.I. is dumbed down, but this just made my avatar feel more super-heroic!And besides, some of the missions are difficult (my record, at games completion: died 40 times and had to restart missions 38 times). The final mission was particularly challenging, which really embellished the climatic feeling. The learning curve was just steep enough to keep the game challenging while also keeping it from being frustrating. ANd the second map came just in time to rescue me from becoming bored with the game.First game I've had to play every night (into the wee hours of the morning) since Shenmue II. In closing, X-box version has better frame-rates, less slow-down than PS2 version, but PS2 version looked dang good too.

5-0 out of 5 stars fbsgdjnsyjmyuuy
Very cool game. You can blow up almost anything, including your own base!!!Good graphics and fun missions should keep you interested for a couple months.

5-0 out of 5 stars This is the funnest game ever
Ive never been able to enjoy a game for so long without getting bored before this. The auidos great, the physics are great, the graphics are great, the gameplay is great, and its a free-roaming game in which u can destroy anything. This is much better than grand theft auto or most other games.

3-0 out of 5 stars It's Alright...
Not bad for the neatness factor.I have an occiasional problem with one of the split space bar buttons not working sometimes. It requires a computer restart to correct (sometimes more than once). My biggest gripe though, is that the print on the keys wears off with extended use. This totally negates the cool look of the Zboard keys sets when you have ghetto-looking half letters on your often used keys (A, S, W, D, X, C, and L-Shift for me).

Had I known about the print wearing off I wouldn't have bought it, but some people may not mind.Or maybe they just don't play as much as I do :)

2-0 out of 5 stars Great concept, but Quirky
I LOVED the IDEA of this keyboard, and being able to switch keysets, cause in addition to gaming on my computer, I also do video editing in PREMIERE and AFTER EFFECTS, and also work in Photoshop. I loved the Photoshop keyset and the gaming keysets- HOWEVER- the actual hardware had ISSSUUUUEEES!!!!Like for example I'd be working away and all of the sudden a key I HADNT PUSHED would be going ENDLESSLY and in order to make it stop I had to remove the whole Keyset!!This started happening more and more frequently and cost me alot of time and effort when I had projects ruined or crashed by this keyboard.I contacted the manufacturer, got no response- downloaded the latest drivers and all that junk- but it never got any better- in fact it got worse! Finally I removed the whole thing and went back to my old keyboard- not nearly as fun, but it WORKS RIGHT!

1-0 out of 5 stars No Warranty or Customer Support
I purchased an WoW addon and worked for about two weeks. It then completely crapped out. My PC's keyboard becomes non-functional as soon as the WoW keyset is inserted. Support does not publish a telephone and is accessible via the web only. They have completely ignored repeated requests for assistance. They have not even responded with an acknowledgment to my requests. I would not recommend a Ideazon product to anyone. If it ever breaks, you are simply screwed.

4-0 out of 5 stars Question
Does this or can this plug into a USB-port, for usage with a laptop?

5-0 out of 5 stars ZBoard
Excellent keyboard.Has a bit of a learning curve, especially when typing with the gaming keyset.Customizable key bindings are great, particularly if you decide not to buy the game specific keyset for your games.ZBoard website has preconfigured keysets for the default gaming kedpad, but unfortunately World of Warcraft is not available.Instruction manual is well written and thorough.Few tips:
Install the keyboard before loading the software.
Do not load the drivers from the CDRom, download the latest software/drivers from ZBoard.com.
Lastly..beware of Amazons SuperSaver shipping..it took my ZBoard a full 15 days to arrive.Mostly likely attributable to the USPS forced upon us by Amazon.

5-0 out of 5 stars The ultimate fighting game - period
Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 - New Age Of Heroes (2000.) The fourth game in the "Marvel characters versus Capcom characters" series.

Over the years, there have been a ton of fighting games, but as the years progressed, it became evident that one company was the supreme mastermind of the genre - Capcom. When they released Street Fighter II in 1991, it revolutionized fighting games and was frequently ripped off. Capcom used the excellent mechanics behind that ever-so-successful series to launch spin-offs like Street Fighter Alpha, as well as other fighting series, including Darkstalkers. The corporation even made a fighting game featuring Marvel comics characters which was well-received. And then, Capcom did one of the smartest things of their entire career - put Marvel and Capcom characters together in the same fighting game! This started with the classic X-Men Vs. Street Fighter, which was followed up my Marvel Super Heroes Vs. Street Fighter, which greatly expanded the Marvel roster. And then came Marvel Vs. Capcom, which greatly expanded the number of Capcom characters available. The fourth game in this Marvel and Capcom series, Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 - New Age Of Heroes, arrived in 2000. Read on for my review (and sorry about the long introduction.)

We'll start off with what this game does good. The absolute best part of this game is the sheer magnitude of characters you can play as. Once they're all unlocked, you'll have over fifty characters! And you've got the all-stars from both universes. Capcom serves up classic Street Fighter characters like Ryu and Ken, along with Darkstalkers favorites Felicia and Morrigan, and even Mega Man! Capcom's got a ton of their most popular characters too, including Spider-Man, Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, and pretty much all of the X-Men. The game even features new characters from both franchises. Unlike the first Marvel Vs. Capcom, which played pretty crappy with console controllers, this time around the scheme was done AROUND the controller, so it plays WAY better than its predecessor. The 128-bit backgrounds look GREAT. The soundtrack's catchy, too, even if some beg to differ. The system used for unlocking characters/stages/outfits/etc. is also well-done. You earn points every time you play, and these can be used to buy the bonus features. For the most part, the game takes everything from the original Marvel Vs. Capcom, and improves it. There is very little wrong with this game. If you liked the original, you're probably going to like this one even more.

As much as I like this game, I do have a few complaints. The one that seems to get the most attention is the characters being drawn at a low resolution. Why did Capcom do this? The backgrounds are simply stunning, so I really think a little more work could have gone into the character models. Likewise, too many characters have been altered too much - Chun Li, Sakura, and M. Bison have been altered so much that they aren't even fun to play as. Likewise, many of the characters are just weak when compared to others - Roll is just pathetic and essentially comes off seeming like a "poor man's version of Mega Man." The new characters were unnecessary. Though cool, their omission would have allowed for other great Marvel and Capcom characters to be in the game - I'm sure plenty of other gamers would have liked to have been able to play as Daredevil, Dr. Octopus, The Punisher, Bass, and Proto Man. My biggest complaint is that the game is no longer in production - they don't make Dreamcasts anymore, and for reasons only god knows, the Playstation 2 and XBOX versions were produced in limited quantities. Still, these flaws can ultimately be neglected. For everything this game does wrong, there are about ten things it does right.

My final verdict is simple. If you like Capcom's fighting games, this is a must-buy. It's my favorite fighting game of all time, and you'd be a fool not to buy it if you're into the genre. Capcom knows good fighting games, and this is as good as they come. It's tough to find due to the poor distribution, but trust me - it's worth hunting down.

5-0 out of 5 stars The ultimate match up of Marvel and Capcom characters
Truly a classic amongst classics, this is hands down one of the best and most fun fighting games I have ever played. Every Marvel character and every major Capcom character is a selectable character for you to use as a fighter in 3 on 3 battles. Super moves and air combos add to the excitement as you can make your dream team of fighters.

Imagine Megaman, Dan and Juggernaut all fighting together on the same team and the only reward is knowing that you beat up the rest of the competition. Well imagine no more.. this game will give you every combination of fighters you could ever want and it even has some never before seen characters in the Vs. series. Like a cactus character named Amingo, Cable and Marrow from the XMen and Anikarus from the Darkstalkers series.

This game is pretty much the last in the line of the Marvel fighting series (mostly due to Capcom losing the rights to the Marvel franchise) which started with Xmen Children of the Adom and then the next games would include Street Fighter characters then just all Marvel Characters and then the also great Marvel Vs Capcom 1. This takes every single character we saw in every previous game up to this point and has them almost unchanged. Characters like Iceman and Spiral which were only in Xmen return almost unchanged and just as much fun as we remember. Bosses like Thanos and Dr. Doom from previous games, are now selectable for you to use as part of your teams as well. (of course they are weakend a tad but thats only expected)

The only downsides I would have to mention are that compared to the Dreamcast version, the PS2 version is a bit pixalated. Its not as smooth and well drawn as the other version was and there is a bit of load time in between the matches that you didn't find on the Dreamcast. Besides that though, the game is totaly unchanged and a perfect adapatation in everyway. The other minus is that there is really no plot at all to this game. M vs C 1 had an ending for every character giving you something accomplished. No matter who you win this game with its the same ending which is basicaly a "You did it. Congratualtions" now you can watch the credits type of ending. The most obvious reason for no endings are that there are over 50 characters and theres no way to put an ending for all of them especialy when you are using teams of 3. But it is missed when you are just fighting just for the sake to fight. Also Rogue has been changed. Instead of copying a power of the character she drains, she now just gets a general strength, defense, armor or speed boost depending on the character she drained. again its understandable due to the amount of characters in the game and how hard it would be to have her be able to have all of them. Ken also is the weaker version of the character where the fireball only goes half across the screen before dying but hes still just as good if you know how to use Ken. (Flamming uppercuts and all)

You won't be sorry adding this game to your collection. Whether you play it one player against the computer or against a friend it has so many combination of characters you can use, you probably will never truly have every team possible. Mastering each character is half the fun and learning all the combos and what assists work best is another part of the game that adds to its long playing value.

Capcom really did a great job here and I hope to see more games like this from Capcom in the future as this is the mark of excellence that all team based fighting games should have to live up to.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Game!
This game is great. It far surpasses any game like it including Marvel VS Capcom. The are 56 PLAYABLE characters and with three on three action this game is the best. In my opinion the best team is Iron Man, Strider Hiryu andanyone else (I usually pick Cable). The only fault with this game may be its replay value, because once you get all the stages, character images, outfits, etc when you put down the game you probably won't pick it up again in the near or distant future.

4-0 out of 5 stars It'll keep you entertained for hours and hours.....
but you might hate the fact that all the fighters are practically the same in moves. That makes the game easier to learn I guess. The combo system is hard for me to get down, though I'm not much of a hardcore fighting game enthusiast.I loved the huge selection of fighters, 56 I think, from all the Capcom and Marvel Comics universe. From Jill Valentine with her zombie army, to the powerful Sentinal, the invincible Juggernaut, and many more. The levels are simple and really don't feal like they should be in a fighting game, and the music puts you out of the fighting mood. There are pictures and alternate costumes for every character to unlock, but by the time you're done you'll probably be burned out on the game.If you find this game at a Blockbuster or somewhere, I'ld say rent it and check it out for yourself, especially if yo have a friend to play against.

5-0 out of 5 stars What is the deal?!
I love this game and I have been trying to find a copy for months now, but when one finally shows up, the price is outrageous! And we're talking used here! Can someone tell me how this game went from near obscurity to the most incredible demand?! ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Easiness!
THis game is hot, and it is a lot of fun to play. It is, however, WAY too easy. The first day I got it I lost all of my games, but once i adjusted to the shooting buttons, I became the master (which isn't that hard). I had an 81-1 season with the ATLANTA HAWKS!! In the game (and in real life) they suck! I lost by one point to the mavericks when i let my 8 year old son play! his first time ever picking up the game, and he lost 71-72. I can just throw it up to Al Harrison for an easy three points, and it is like that with EVERY TEAM. I always play with the highest difficulty, and always win by 30 or 40 points. I get bored just throwing the ball to my wing man and scoring every single time. i highly reccommend waiting for a better NBA game to come out. The mini games are alright and online could be a bit better...nobody is ever on. Save your money for Coded Arms, which will be the best PSP game ever, or just buy a new NBA game when it comes out cuz this one gets old fast.

3-0 out of 5 stars Potential
The knock on 989 sports games has always been unrealistic game play... This title is no exception to that charge.
Before I rip the game, I will say this: if you're not worried about realistic game play, it's a fun game. The graphics do a great job of showing the potential the PSP has. The mini-games are quite fun and highly replayable. Sadly, the mini games are the best feature.
In my first game (keep in mind all this happened the FIRST time I picked the game up) I scored 60 something points with Rashard Lewis, almost all of the points coming in the 2nd half, once i became comfortable with the controls... almost all of his points came on 3's... I hit something like 17 or 18 3's... If you hae a decent 3 point shooter and he's taller than the man guarding him, you hit like 80% of your 3's! Also, Luke Ridinour threw down a 2 handed dunk where his head was lke 2 feet above the rim at one point. LUKE RIDINOUR!!!!!! also, the oposing point guard, mike bibby had 30 points and 25 assists! 25! that's an NBA record, and I still won the game!
the bottom line is, if you just want to have a basketball game and you're not worried about gameplay accuracy then you can get by with this game. But if you want something that resembles an NBA game, then stay away.

5-0 out of 5 stars PEOPLE WHO SAY THIS GAME SUK ARE STUPID!!!
LOOK I KNOW THAT WHEN U FIRST GET IT, IT MIGHT BE KINDA HARD... BUT U CANT STOP!!!
THIS IS GAME IS SO MUCH FUN THAT U CANT GIVE UP, U CANT STOP PLAYIN IT, IMASTERED THE CONTROLS AFTER THE FIRST GAME BEACAUSE I HAVE PLAYED SOOOOO MANY NBA GAMES AND I AM THE BEST AT THEM ALL! BUT FOR AN AVERAGE GAMER, U WILL MASTER THE CONTROLS AFTER U PLAY 3 OR 4 GAMES. AFTER U MASTER THE CONTROLS U CAN DO DIFFERENT THINGS WITH THE GAME LIKE, TAKIN YOUR SKILLS TO THE GAME PAINT OR THE SKILLS CHANLANGE ! GET THIS GAME NOW!!

5-0 out of 5 stars NBA Cool
This is the best game I have ever played. The graphics are like a PS2. This game is better than the NCAA March Madness by a long shot. this game will make you fell like you are actually at the game. My favorite tear is the Miami Heat. They ever have all the all stars be play when you play. I was sure right when I heard that there was going to be an nba game that I must have it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best buy
If you want more bang for your buck then tis is the game psp games start at $40. Here are some tips like when you get to the menue than go to the play offs and pick the pistons because the have the best stats. But if your a little afrade about spending $40 on this game I garented you will like it. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Nothing Beats DDR!
Part I - Dance Dance Revolution Extreme

An ultra fun video game that gives a good workout just seems too cool to be true, but there is a game that has those attributes:DDR.This great game changed my life and turned me from a lazy guy playing computer all day to becoming a true athlete, as working out is so much fun after playing DDR!

Although DDR Extreme was a big disappointment for a Dance Dance Revolution installment for DDR experts, it's easily the best one for beginners with its familiar songs, easy game engine, and Beginner mode (which debuted on DDRMAX2).

Dance Dance Revolution Extreme and all the other DDR games out there are 2-D games (Except for the dancers in the background) with one major point:Dancing with your feet. You have a dance mat (or stage) where you tap your feet on the arrows planted on the mat at the same time as the matching arrow on the screen is inside the outlined arrow. There are five (or six) ratings you can get for your accuracy:Marvelous (Not on a regular game), Perfect, Great, Good (Which should really be Average), Almost, and Boo.You want to get the first ratings I listed, and not an Almost or Boo, or else your dance gauge (Which kind of shows your health) will start to slip until it runs out and you lose a song.At the end of the song, you can receive an overall grade, depending on your overall accuracy, of either an E (Which you get for failing a song), a D (Which you get for surviving, but receiving a poor score), a C, a B, an A, a double A, or a triple A (Which you get for receiving a perfect score).Even if this sounds cheesy at first, doing this to the exciting music in the background is actually extremely fun.

Four different difficulty levels exist on DDR Extreme (and a fifth one for a few songs):Beginner, Light, Standard, and Heavy (the fifth one is called Challenge/Oni).Prior to DDRMAX2, there was no Beginner mode, and only a few songs (like "Peace Out" and "Cutie Chaser Morning Mix") were easy enough to be beaten by beginners.I therefore only recommend this or DDRMAX2 if you're a beginner.

When you first get the game, you start with 44 songs, and you can unlock 26 more songs for a grand total of 70 songs. To unlock the hidden songs, you must clear songs about 5 to 10 times.Once you do that, a new song is unlocked. The first song you can unlock is called Scorching Moon, and the last one you unlock is called The Legend of Max.You can also unlock new dancers for dancing in the background in songs without real music videos, but I never use characters (Having a character is optional).

If you play a regular game, you can, instead of simply select a song and dance; choose to play two alternate modes:Nonstop and Challenging mode.In Nonstop mode, you can play four songs in a row without stopping.Sadly, there's only a limited selection of lists of songs you can select from, but thankfully, you can choose from "Players Best", which includes the top 4 songs that you've selected the most. This mode was best in DDR Konamix because you could select which songs to be on a list.Challenging mode is hardly worth the trouble. You have four lives, and each time you get a Good or worse, you lose a life. This mode is very frustrating, and only those who can get AA's all the time will find it an attracting way to play.

The Party Mode, which is new for DDR Extreme, is a futuristic-style way to play video games, as you can dance with both hands and feet while seeing yourself dance, although you need the camera for PS2 to do so.Being able to play with both your hands and feet while watching yourself is genius, and must be extremely fun to do.The Hands and Feet Mode is likely the highlight of the Party Mode; the other games are too simple and boring (feeding an animal the right food, etc.).

Along the way, you can unlock two new modes:Mission Mode and Endless mode.In Mission Mode, you dance to different songs with an unusual task to win.Be careful about the visual tricks that are used in many of the songs in Mission Mode.In Endless Mode, you keep dancing until you fail with a randomly chosen character. The songs that you dance to are randomly selected. The problem with it is that you're forced to have a character dance in the background and might end up with one you can't stand.

The Workout Mode in the game allows you to keep track of your fitness and allows you to figure out what you should be doing to keep yourself healthy. If it's on, you'll see how healthy of a workout you got after you finish dancing to a song.Your score will be better if you play fast songs like Drop Out or either of the Paranoia remixes, so play those songs if you want to get fit quickly.

The training mode is a mode where you can't unlock anything, but you can practice the different songs in the game without being stopped by failing and without the thrilling backgrounds.Unfortunately, in DDR Extreme, you can't slow down a song if you need to be able to study something fast and confusing.Even DDR Konamix had this feature.

Finally, I'll take you to the information mode, which gives info about all of the different songs in the game.It tells you if the song you're studying is from a previous DDR game or not, what you should try to do while dancing to the song, or what kind of music it is.According to it, plenty of songs from Dance Dance Revolution Konamix have been brought back, but only three songs have returned from DDRMAX2.

But why is this 2-D game that has the same goal over and over again so great?Well, there are certainly several reasons why:

1. DDR Extreme has a total of 70 different types of songs to choose from. You can find the type of music that's best for you. From a typical energetic dance song (B4U), to a song that's easy to recognize (YMCA, Waiting For Tonight, Like A Virgin), to a jazzy song (On The Jazz, Funk Boogie), to a Japanese pop song (Firefly, Pink Rose), to a supercharged song full of energy (Drop Out, I Feel...) to a song that combines a whole bunch of styles together (JaneJana, Do Me HIGEO Mix, Make It Better), to a theme song from a movie (Never Ending Story, Enter The Dragon) to even a classic song from previous generations of DDR (.59, Drop The Bomb), there's destined to be a song that you'll enjoy.

2. The replay value to this game is incredible, since you can build up your mad skills from beginner to expert, trying to successfully receive all Perfects on songs. You won't want to stop!

3. If you like video games, but you're out of shape, this is a game that can help knock off your weight and keep you fit.I've lost six pounds playing this game since November to December.I've suddenly started to love working out ever since I started playing this game.Seriously, your life will be a lot better after you're fit.

Then again, there are some downsides to this game, but minor downsides:

1. The host of this game gets on your nerves easily.Fortunately, you can shut him off when you're dancing, but not when it's most annoying:When you fail a song. His quote, "W-w-what?" is super annoying, as when he speaks in Japanese.

2. It's hard to find a dance mat that works well.Even the Ignition 2.0 Pad broke down twice within about a couple of weeks for me.It might've been because I was tapping too hard on the arrows, but it still might break down quickly.

3. DDR Extreme for US isn't based on the arcade version, and very few DDR Extreme (arcade) songs are included on the home version ("321Stars", "A", "JaneJana", etc.).Why no "Bag", "1998", "Speed Over Beethoven", and "Paranoia Eternal" (which should've been on DDRMAX2) instead of "Paranoia Survivor"?Not even the licensed songs from the arcade like "We Will Rock You" are on.Konami should release a DDR Konamix 2, a game that should include all of those missed songs from DDR Extreme (arcade) that used DDR Extreme's (arcade) game engine and should keep the DDR experts into DDR.

Anyway, here's the song list included in DDR Extreme, as well as grades for them and comments about what they sound like:

(Songs with * are ones that must be unlocked)

1..59:A (Exciting)
2.*321Stars:B (This one is easy to hate, but I can deal with it)
3.*A:A (Seems to be pretty darn popular, probably because of its challenge and energy)
4.A Stupid Barber:A- (Strange but interesting euro pop)
5.*Absolute:A (A nice blast of typical DJ Taka sound)
6.*B4U:A- (Awesome techno song about DDR)
7.*B4U (B4 Za Beat Mix):A (A more energetic version of B4U)
8.Bad Routine:C+ (So-so house music)
9.Believe:D (Don't like licensed songs much)
10. Bizarre Love Triangle:B+ (But this is an exception)
11. *Can't Stop Falling In Love (Speed Mix):A (Feel the strength of this song!)
12. Diving:B+ (Deep euro trance music)
13. Do Me (H.I.G.E.O. Mix):B (Groovy house music)
14. Don't Clock Me:C- (Okay old skool song plagued by bad lyrics)
15. Drop Out:A++ (Awesome!Feel the energy and danger of this song!)
16. *Drop Out (Remix):A (I personally liked the original better, but this is still good)
17. *Drop The Bomb:A- (Pretty exciting techno song)
18. Ecstasy:A+ (Excellent and exciting euro trance)
19. *Ecstasy (Midnight Blue Mix):A- (Less exciting than original)
20. Firefly:A+++ (Very exciting buildup, cute singers, and great pop/techno/rock music sound!Excellent!)
21. *Frozen Ray (For Extreme):B (Gentle sound, although harsh steps)
22. *Funk Boogie:C+ (So-so jazz/funk music with very simple steps)
23. Go West:A- (A memorable cover of a Village People song)
24. Higher:B (Happy feeling, though a bit targeted toward female dancers)
25. *Higher (Next Morning Mix):B (Really nothing different except for harder steps)
26. Highs Off U (Scorcico XY Mix):F (Listen carefully - THE F-WORD IS USED TWICE IN THIS SONG!!!Very unfriendly to younger dancers)
27. I Feel...:A+ (Energy.Power soul.Techno.Awesome!)
28. I'm For Real:C (Eh, okay, but a bit sleepy)
29. JaneJana:A- (It used to be an F, but I'm no longer annoyed by it.It sounds very strange.)
30. Jet World:A (Very much fun to dance to with a rock/country combination)
31. *Keep On Movin':C (Just your typical dance song.)
32. Kick the Can:B+ (Finally, Kick the Can is on a US mix! It's pretty fun, though not quite the best.)
33. Kids in America:D (Don't like most licensed songs.)
34. *La Senorita:A (Fun Latin to dance to, although La Senorita Virtual is just weird.)
35. Ladies Night:C (Licensed songs again.)
36. Like A Virgin:D- (Another licensed song, only this time it's horrible.)
37. Love Love Sugar:D (I found this song much too targeted toward female dancers to give it a high grade.)
38. *Make It Better:B (One of the very first Konami Original songs ever. It's rather strange, but still decent.)
39. *Maximizer:A++ (Feels like you're riding a roller coaster!)
40. Miracle:D+ (What the heck is a miracle to the singers of this song?)
41. Mobo Moga:A- (Catchy French pop that's playable for me.)
42. Move Your Feet:D+ (Boring topic.Plus, this song seems like it would be on the first Dance Dance Revolution.I know it only came out just recently, but I actually thought it was from the original DDR.It debuted on this game.)
43. Music:A- (Interesting euro techno)
44. Never Ending Story:C (Eh, an okay theme song remix.)
45. *On The Jazz:B+ (Fun-to-dance-to jazz music.)
46. Only You:B- (A 50's-styled song performed by Captain Jack.I'd highly prefer Captain Jack Grandale Remix over this.)
47. Paranoia Eternal:A (Good remix of the song, though it really should've been on DDRMAX2 instead.)
48. *Paranoia Max (Dirty Mix):A+ (The feel of challenge comes in when you start dancing to this creepy, fast song.)
49. Peace Out:D (I never knew slow songs could be annoying.)
50. Pink Rose:A- (This is a nice song. Its instruments could be better, but aw well.)
51. Planet Rock:C- (More liscenced song stuff. This time, a remix of a futuristic old skool track.)
52. *Scorching Moon:B (A strange-sounding collaboration between Sho-T's Groove and DJ Spunga's Bad Routine.)
53. Simply Being Loved:C+ (Another licensed song, though older dancers might like it a lot.)
54. So In Love:C- (A disco/dance/house track with pretty bad vocals.)
55. *The Legend Of Max:B+ (Energetic, though it sounds a bit too much like a song that would play when you're fighting a final boss in a video game.)
56. The Reflex:B+ (Finally, another licensed song that's actually worth dancing to!A great arrangement of the 80's classic.)
57. Theme From Enter The Dragon:A- (An adventurous remix of a movie's theme song.)
58. There You'll Be:B+ (A fast techno remix of the Faith Hill classic.)
59. *Trip Machine:A (Another of the very first Konami Original songs ever, Trip Machine is very fun to dance to with its mechanical techno sounds.)
60. *Trip Machine Survivor:B (A confusing remix of Trip Machine with more energy.)
61. Tsugaru:A (A combination between Matsuri Japan, Exotic Ethnic, Trip Machine, and Healing Vision. The Egyptian sound of Exotic Ethnic plays through most of the song, though the combination between Matsuri Japan's clunky tribal beat, Trip Machine's stiff melody, and Healing Vision's smoothness keep the song sounding Japanese instead.)
62. *Tsugaru (Apple Mix):A (A remix of Tsugaru with more emphasis on Healing Vision and Trip Machine.)
63. *V (For Extreme):B (A dance remix of an orchestral piece from the early 18th century.)
64. Waiting For Tonight:D (I like J. Lo's version much better than this.)
65. Wild Rush:A (Sounds like a song that would play on a car commercial)
66. *Wild Rush (Remix):B (The remix sounds nothing like the original, and doesn't build up its tempo.)
67. Wonderland (UKS Mix):B+ (A fun remake of Boogie Wonderland.)
68. YMCA:B+ (A disco classic that hit DDR.)
69. *You're Not Here:C+ (The song is too sad.)
70. Your Rain (Rage Mix):C- (Very boring techno music with the slowest overall tempo in the game (84 bpm).)

Part II - The free CD

Sometimes, the music on DDR can be quite fun.Sadly, the songs included in the game are often fake and are only made for the game and sometimes Beatmania CD's, which are rare.Thankfully, this package comes with a free music sampler that includes 15 Konami songs from DDR.Now you can listen to that exciting Dance Dance Revolution music anytime you want!
Here's the song list:

1.Scorching Moon
2.A
3.Ecstasy
4.Your Rain (Rage Mix)
5.Wild Rush
6.A Stupid Barber
7.Mobo Moga
8.Jet World
9.321Stars
10. V (For Extreme)
11. I Need You (Inside out Door 3Mixes)[The music that plays in the Information mode]
12. Drop The Bomb (Original Extended Tune)
13. B4U (Glorious Style)
14. So In Love ~train~
15. I Need You (Platinum Mix)

I was a bit sad that "Firefly" wasn't on the CD, but at least the song selection is thoroughly solid and has many popular songs.I actually found this a very worthy CD, and it's by far my most played album on my iPod.It's not that great of a CD when you're just listening to it on a CD player at home or in the car, but it's excellent when you're walking around town with it playing in a portable CD player/iPod.

By the way, this CD can be found in other places outside of this package. You can find it at any large electronics store for free.

4-0 out of 5 stars DDR Is Still Alive.
After the horrible DDR USA, Konami saved themselves with Konamix. After everyone was amazed by freze arrows in DDR Max, DDR Max 2 had to mess everything up again. Now...DDR Extreme is here. DDR Extreme has a totally different interface than any arcade or home version. In my opionion, an easier interface. Many modes have been added, which makes the game more fun. I tried out all the modes (yes, I have the unlockable ones two. In fact, I've unlocked everything.) and found two dumb and pointless ones. #1: Training mode. How stupid, watch the song with some red lines added, and no background. Pass this one up. #2: Mission mode. All you do is play the song with some dumb rule like don't step on more than one arrow at at a time; beat the song with phantom arrows; etc. etc. etc. It's plain annoying.
All the songs are good, but some of the ratings are a mistake. They gave Your Rain 3 foots on light. It's the slowest and pretty much the easiest song in the game. Oh well, I'm not going to talk about the ratings all day. My favorite songs are .59, Kick The Can, and Y.M.C.A. The most dredful songs are The Legend of Max, Higher, and I'm for Real. Yes, I can understand the Legend of Max being here, but if you're desperate enough to put those other two in...
The gameplay is awesome, except for minor flaws.
Edit mode is great. I still don't get why thry put in the confusing green 1/12, yes 1/12 arrows. In edit mode, you sort of reprogram the steps to fit your style. Although, DDR Extreme at the arcades stil can't use PS2 memory cards. That was definitely a bad decision. Party mode is pretty fun. I would recommend this, especially if you want to lose weight! (workout mode)

5-0 out of 5 stars Very Fun!!!!!
This game is A LOT of fun, but make sure you have a dance mat to play this game (see my other reviews to see which dance mat is the best).

There are over 50 songs to dance to and you can unlock different things by dancing (new songs, characters, modes, etc.)

There's is also a party mode (an EyeToy is recommended but not required). You can watch yourself dance, dance with your feet and hands, move your hands to clear the screen so you can see what arrows to go to, move your feet as fast as you can to shake fruit off the trees that you must catch, and a single play pong type ghame where you use your hands.

This game is a very fun game. You may also purchase a second mat (see my other reviews to find the best mat) for two player fun, or just share one mat (or one advanced player can dance using two mats).

This game is a great way to move around and get active while having fun and by playing video games. This game and the mat is worth the money.

1-0 out of 5 stars Not for the workout-minded
I'll preface this review with the fact that it only applies to people who purchase these dance games for the exercise benefit. If you purchase the game for the fun of game mode, etc. it's as good as the others and I'd rate it higher for that, but for workouts it's a 1 star performer....

Six months ago I invested in the PS2 specifically to play the workout mode of the DDR Max 2 game.I've worked up to the Heavy play mode and am thrilled with the workout stats on it.Of course, eventually the songs became routine and I got the itch to buy DDR Extreme. What a disappointment. The workout section is only for setting up stats. In my old DDR 2 you actually PLAY in workout mode, and you play one song right after another until you're done your workout. The only thing that shows up between songs is a count of calories burned and the equal to the exercise (jogging, swimming, skipping rope, etc.).Then you get right back into another song selection, until you reach your calories burned goal or decide for yourself that you're done dancing.

DDR Extreme forces you to workout in game mode.Consequently, in between songs you get a grading system you could care less about and after 3 songs it announces the game is over and sends you back to the beginning screen. The last thing I want to do in themiddle of a workout is wait 5 minutes while I reprogram everything in order to play another 3 songs. The songs are great, and I'm very disappointed they didn't leave the workout mode alone. As it is, I'm going to have to return it - this isn't geared for workouts anymore.

5-0 out of 5 stars BEST DDR GAME EVER
When I first saw this game at my cousin's house I knew I should buy it.So I bought it and went straight to my PS2 and started to play.I can play for hours and not even notice. The songs were great . "kick the can","dropout",and "b4u" are my favorites. you can unlock lots of songs and there are a grand total of 70 songs in this game! You can unlock modes like mission or endless mode. If your a begginner you can go into lesson mode or training mode. and if you are over weight there is workout mode. you put in your weight and when your done you can check how many calories you've burned. when you are in game mode you can do roulette if you can't decide wich song you wat to play. If you keep playing you will get better. I started of in begginer and i can now do standard mode. im only 12! ... Read more

Amazon.com Review

Star Wars fans, listen up. If you missed out onLucasArts's X-Wing or TIE Fighter simulations when theyfirst appeared, it's time to make amends. These classic games from thedays of DOS have been given a complete makeover, updated with enhancedgraphics, and now run under Windows 95 and 98. X-Wing CollectorSeries contains both of these Collector editions in a singlebox, along with a demo CD-ROM containing X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter:Flight School, and offers them all at a price that should be wellwithin anyone's entertainment budget.

Entertained is what you'll be once you've installed these games. X-Wing lets players pilot A-wings, Y-wings, B-wings, and (of course)X-wings in dozens of missions against the evil Empire. Although Rebelships have the advantage of being equipped with shields, don't expectany mercy--the game is infamous for containing some of the toughestmissions of all time.

TIE Fighter turns the tables by letting players work their wayup in the Imperial ranks. Several types of TIE ships are modeled, fromthe ungainly TIE bomber to the incredibly agile TIE defender. In bothgames the controls are about as perfect as they can get in a game ofthis type, and campaign missions play out with convincing voice actingand great plot twists. The graphics pale in comparison to a newer gamelike X-Wing: Alliance, but there's so much gameplay in these CD-ROMs that we barely had time to notice. --T. Byrl Baker

Pros:

  • A few hundred fun, challenging missions to play through
  • Many different ships
  • Sound effects and music straight out of the movies
  • Perfectly captures the excitement and feel of Star Wars
Cons:
  • Updated graphics still don't look as good as those found in modernspace simulators

5-0 out of 5 stars An ageless game
I bought this game for my 486 years ago, back when the game had to be installed from a floppy diskette. The gameplay is second to none.No game since this one has kept me up at night, formulating different strategies in order to succeed in a previous mission failure. The amount of detail in this game blows my mind comparing it to other, more "asthetically pleasing" modern games. The level of difficulty is very, very high; however, I never became so frustrated as to give up, only to try harder.Hands down, my favorite videogame of all-time.This one even tops Diablo II, folks.

5-0 out of 5 stars My Favorite Game
Tie Fighter is my favorite game.Of course, that means little without knowing me.I'm 33.I got my Atari 2600 when I was 8, and my first computer (Timex/Sinclair ZX81) when I was 10.I used to regularly steal $20 bills from my mother's purse to spend hours at the arcade.(P.S. -- Haven't seen HyperBall in along time.A very nifty mechanical game.)

I believe popular video games began a downward spiral with the sad arrival of Doom.

Nowadays, I still have a working Atari 2600 adapter for my ColecoVision.I have a nice collection of KOEI games for the Nintendo Entertainment System.I have nearly 2000 arcade machine ROMs on my computer.

It is my opinion that Dungeons of Daggorath was the most innovative video game, ever.It is my opinion that Tie Fighter is the best video game, ever. It's sad that nothing better has come along in the 10 years past its release.

5-0 out of 5 stars Oh...My...God
Concerning X-wing

I remember getting this game for my birthday way the heck back in 1992.The missions were so fun and CHALLENGING now this is a word that most people in the computer game industry seem to have forgotten. The appeal of this game for me was that because it took so much time to complete(I think I managed it in 2 years) the victories were all the swetter when you won.

Nowadays you can just type in a cheat code and skip to the end well keep in mind that such a thing did not exist on the old DOS machines.

X-wing was the first but later on Lucas-arts improved the engine by adding TIE FIGHTER (that's right a game where you play on the side of the Imperials) this also provides some very challenging missions but can be beaten with much more ease that anyone could ever beat x-wing.Still fun, just as enjoyable

Now X-Wing vs. Tie Fighter brings us relatively up to date combing elements of both games what you have is a game that is more useful for multiplayer than single player missions. This is finally where the age of this type of game in this type of format began to show. Most of the missions in this game were just repeats of the same missions in X-Wing and Tie Fighter.Although the graphics are better and there are one or two missions that provide a great level of enjoyment.

If any of you old dogs out there are still using 98 or 95 pick up a piece of gaming history and get a copy of this package.

4-0 out of 5 stars would be more fun if wasn't so difficult
this is one of the older games that are still around, but, unlike the other oldies, this one now has Direct-X 3D acceleration. It also has Lucas Arts premium sound effects , so if you've never played a Star Wars game, this is as good a place to start as any.

You get a manual, a quick reference guide and 2 CD-ROMs containing a total of 3 titles: "X-Wing", "Tie Fighter" and "X-Wing vs. Tie Fighter: Flight School" (a demo of an improved title).

this was the first game(s) I ever bought and was hoping for agood space flying/shooting sim that's fun and not too difficult.I got half of what I wanted...it looks good and the tutorials are fun and simple, but like most of these type games, most of us can only finish the first 2 levels before being inundated with unenjoyably heavy fleets and relentless laser fire.

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome
I can't believe how fun an old game can be.Sure, the graphics are a little dated, but the gameplay is unbeatable. This Collecter Series is a really great deal that saves a lot of money because if you only buy one of the games you'll end up wanting to play the others too.So buy it today! ... Product Description

Wario's latest batch of microgames are more insane than ever thanks to the new touch screen interface. In one game, you have to use the stylus to guide a twisted piece of tissue into an unsuspecting nostril. If the nose sneezes, you win. In another, you use the stylus to carve a statue by chipping away at a large stone block. The games are faster and goofier than ever, which will make this title a sure-fire hit for any WarioWare fan. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Short but Fun
I have only played this Warioware game and the Warioware: Twisted! game, so I will not be rating this game in comparison to the first Warioware game.

In this game, you play through a series of quick, 5 second microgames in quick succession.Although some games are hard to complete, the real challenge is in the speed. There are over 180 microgames, so with each microgame you have to instantly figure out what you need to do, or lose and proceed on at the breakneck pace.

This gameplay is incredibly fun, and really makes for one of the best gaming experiences ever. The actions are a bit repetitive, however.Take the microphone themed games.About 90% of these games could be done simply by blowing in the microphone again and again.Luckily, the little differences in each game keep you interested, and your eyes on the screen.

By far the biggest problem with this game is its length.I beat it in about three hours.(Beat meaning I got the reccomended scores for every character in the game)I spent a further three hours or so, and I am now experienced with every microgame in Touched! and I am close to having beaten the Albums for them.I have every souvenier but three. And worst of all, once you have memorized every microgame, the entire thrill of the game, not knowing what to do, is gone.

If you are looking a tougher, larger game experience, buy Warioware: Twisted! for the GBA instead. It is a bit better than Touched!, but they're both great games really. If you have a DS, my reccomendation is to buy them both, put them in at the same time, and have a great time!Plus, you unlock a special video of Mona in Touched! if you put them both in at the same time.

Overall, Touched! is either a hit or miss game.Try it before you buy it, but I think you'll like it.

FINAL RATING:4.5 out of 5

P.S. Please forgive the spelling mistakes, I am writing this quickly.

4-0 out of 5 stars I Love Wario!!!
This game is so much fun. Although sometimes the directions are unclear, the items on the screen usually tell you what to do.It is a game I could play forever and it never gets old. You never know what mini game will pop up next. It is very fun and NOT a waste of your money.

5-0 out of 5 stars Absolute madness yet SO fun!!!!!
Having played, replayed, and loved the GBA WarioWare: Mega Microgames, it was only natural that I should buy the DS version. WarioWare Touched is perhaps the craziest DS game ever created, a barrage of 5-second microgames one after another. There are 180 of them, all with strange goals like running a mechanical pencil out of lead or popping balloons. Some other reviewers have complained that this game is too easy, but I disagree. Sure, I was able to beat all the sets of microgames once in the first day I had it, but that's only scratching the surface. After you beat a Boss level or complete a set number of games, you recieve a weird souvenir, which could be anything from a party blowout to a parrot that repeats whatever you say into the DS's microphone. This keeps you playing even after your first run through the game, trying to beat challenges and unlock more extras. I still don't have them all. I still haven't even played all the microgames.

Another cool feature of this game is the fact that only the touch screen and the mic have any importance in the game controls; everything else just pauses the game. While this makes for a fun, different way to play, you should be careful not to get too carried away in trying to beat the clock, or else it's easy to scratch your screen. I know. I've been very, very careful {or have tried to be, anyway}, but my screen still got some scratches. Oh well. This game is worth it. This isn't a story-oriented game like Super Mario 64 DS {which, by the way, is an awesome game}, but it'll keep you playing for quite some time. Oh yes, it's got some pretty cool music too, 2 songs having lyrics. I really enjoy this game, and I recommend it to anyone who has a DS.

4-0 out of 5 stars BEST DS GAME EVER!!!
Do not, I repeat DO NOT pass on this game.In Wario's debut with the DS game system I couldn't wish for anything more from a game ever! This game is extremely fun because of the single fact that you get to play 180 new microgames with the touch screen.Yup, you heard me folks, you don't use those pesky buttons the entire game. This style of gameplay makes Warioware: Touched the best game ever. This game has many micro games, over a 180.If you are wondering:What is a microgame? Don't worry, I'll explain. A microgame is a fun game, that takes about 5 seconds to complete. Now you must be thinking: That is so easy then! Nope, your child won't get bored of them,
