Amazon.com Review

NASCAR Racing Season 2003 brings the intensity, grit, and roaring sound of NASCAR to the PC.This 2003 incarnation of Sierra’s 10-year old series is once again built by Papyrus, the first name in racing simulation fidelity. It doesn’t disappoint.

NASCAR Racing Season 2003 features 23 venues including all the real-world tracks in the Winston Cup series, every major driver, and all the licensing NASCAR is famous for. There’s advertising everywhere, from M&Ms to Cingular Wireless and AOL, but that only makes the game look more realistic.

True to the NASCAR Racing legacy, this isn’t an arcade racing game. You can crank the realism settings up and expect to race in all the qualifying rounds to determine your place in the opening pack for the race itself. You can set the physics to perfectly model the real world, where you have to fight your car every step of the way. Set the AI to maximum and you’ll have to battle for every inch of track space. You can even tweak the tire pressure and brakes, and set how your pit crew behaves. It’s a race fan and grease monkey’s dream come true. Less hardcore fans have the option of dialing down the realism settings. You can add a green line to the track showing the ideal route, let the computer help you with traction, steering, and braking, and even set unlimited fuel and unbreakable cars. Admirably, Papyrus puts you in charge of your NASCAR experience.

The graphics are decent, better than last season but behind the curve when compared with other games. Cars look good up close, and the sense of speed is extremely realistic. The sun glints in your windshield and the smoke effects are impressive. But farther way, even at the highest detail settings, there are problems with shimmering and jagged lines around cars and objects. The audio is perfect, from the pit crew giving advice to the roar of the engines; it’s all very convincing.

NASCAR may look like a crowd of cars all turning left but in reality it’s split second timing, daring, and skill. It's not easy riding an oval for 20-200 laps at high speed with little margin for error, or passing a crowd of 10 two-ton vehicles all hurtling along in excess of 170MPH. This game perfectly shows just how hard NASCAR racing can be. One word of caution before you get the green light: the keyboard or a game pad will let you play reasonably well, but you’ll never take the checkered flag without a good force feedback steering wheel. --Bob Andrews

Pros:

  • Fun NASCAR racing for both beginners and experts
  • The best racing simulation on the market
Cons:
  • Some long distance graphics flaws
  • Confusing menus and interface

Yes, as the previous reviewer stated. "The endless possibilities of this game are ...... um.....endless"

5-0 out of 5 stars The best Sim out there!!
The endless possibilities of this game are endless.
Although the offline play can be a bit boring, as the AI cars are very hard to race against (meaning that they are not the most realistic drivers) The game realy takes off when it come to online racing. The Servers that support this game (Xtremespeeday being the best that there is!) offer the best racing around. There are endless additional mods that can be found with a quick search of the net not to mention OVER 200 extra tracks!! that can be played online. You can also join 'families' (Xtremespdwy.com being the most welcoming) where you can get help from other drivers and the bosses that run the different servers. they also offer talking software called ventrillo that can be used so that you can talk to the drivers around you at the same time!!!
This game is a MUST. If you like arcade games, then this is not for you! If you like racing Simmulations that even the Real drivers use to practice on, then this is the ONLY game to buy!!
Hope to see you on the Track (in my mirrors of course!!)

5-0 out of 5 stars Papy makes the Best Racing Sims
I've had this game ever since it came out and it's still at the top of my gaming pile.

the community is keeping this game alive, upto date car paint schemes and the mods are great. Project Wildfire has released many mods that are just amazing for this game (Truck series, Busch Series, IROC and a trans am mod for all you road racers, plus over a dozen new tracks from PWF and tons of tracks from many other mod teams)

get a wheel pedal combo, a good vid card and get into community and you'll find this game is still going very strong even after papy has moved away from the PC sims.

if your a PC sim fan, Papys games are the only games you want, EA's Nascar games are for arcade fans with Xbox's.

i can get from 50-80fps with:
- Athlon XP 2800+
- 512 ddr-ram (PC-3200)
- ATI Radeon 9700pro (128mb) videocard

------------------
find PWF @ http://www.projectwildfire.com they have moved on but all the info you need you can get from the very active forum.

5-0 out of 5 stars Flat Out Awesome!
I've been playing the Papy racing sims for years and have consistently be awestruck at the accuracy of the controls and the "feel" of the cars.Lets face it, anything else is 3rd rate compared to this racing sim.

What I find amazing is the amount of support online for this product. You can race all of the usual "Cup" tracks or download awesome tracks like Mosport and Le Mans.Anyone with the slightest amount of computer savy will be able to add outrageously modified high-speed tracks with close to 300 MPH top speeds and classic road courses like Riverside.BUY THIS PRODUCT or be disappointed.

5-0 out of 5 stars Sim racing doesn't get any more realistic
EA Sports doesn't have anything in their invetory that can conpare with this game. Papyrus is way ahead of everyone else when it comes to Racing simulations. Yes...I'm calling it a simulator instead of a game because that's what it is. Dale Earnheardt Jr. has been know to use the game to prepare himself for the next race. Yes folks, it's that realistic. It's a real shame that this was the last edition of this game. Ea sports bought out the license from NSACAR. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great game
Trophy Bass 3D was the first fishing sim I bought. TB4 is much better and has several very cool features. I like the point-of-view camera view (angler view). It gives you a real "you are there" perspective. The fish graphics are a bit dated (remember this is a 2000 game). The lure selection is incredible, and so is the variety of lakes offered. Something for everyone. Do a google search and download the demo. You will end up buying the full game. I switch back between this game and Bass Fishing 2003.

5-0 out of 5 stars Realism Is the Key
Trophy Bass 4 is the most realistic fishing simulation I have ever played.Every weather condition has a different effect on the fish as to where they are located on each individual lake. Also every type of weather condition calls for different lure techniques for those situations. This game will test your knowledge and skill. If you do not have this game already I strongly suggest picking it up.

5-0 out of 5 stars Field & Stream: Trophy Bass 4 will get you 'hooked'!
In the UK, as it could be said around the world, fishing has been described as THE favourite outdoor pastime and 'Field & Stream: Trophy Bass 4' has brought the thrill of the catch to the confines of your lounge.

It features over 30 species of freshwater gamefish including Stripers, Walleyes, Catfish and Muskies.

On your boat, you will have 1000's of rod, reel and lure combinations available to you along with underwater sonar, map and compass and two kinds of motor propulsion.

You can play either single fishing trip, career mode or even online in the multiplayer link-ups, fishing on dozens of reknowned lakes throughout the USA.

There is so much to this game that I cannot begin to give it justice.I'm 'hooked' and I can't even fish for 'reel'! (almost a pun there).

5-0 out of 5 stars If you love to fish...
I love to fish but I had an unfortunate injury some 20 years ago and I use a wheelchair to get around. This lets me fish whenever & places that I probably would not get a chance to go fishing at. I only wish it had a few more lakes in the northern part of the USA or even Canada. Even the great lakes would be cool. Overall I love the game and all the options that it gives you.

5-0 out of 5 stars I can't fish worth a lick but I love this game!
I got this for my husband and I think I've played it as much as he has!I love it!I am no good at fishing, so I put it on "easiest," and it is so fun!I just do it to catch fish and have a little fun, so "easiest" is a good level of difficulty for me ha ha.When my husband asked for this for his birthday, I thought, "eeewwww.Well if that's what he wants..." and now I monopolize it!It's great fun, even for the non-fisherman/woman. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Updateable to current standards in 2005
Although the out of box product may appear somewhat dated, please note that the Papyrus design team have released a "GPL 2004 demo" as freeware, and this is in effect a complete upgrade to this product, produced with the co-operation of many modders/designers.There are new car graphics, sounds and force-feedback effects.Combine this product with the freeware "demo" and you have a state of the art historic F1 simulation which is still a bear to drive. The out of pocket expense is ridiculously low, given the price of new sims, and I would recommend this (with the upgrade--find it yourself) without reservation. But be warned: this is an uncompromising simulation, and hardly suitable for a casual gamer.

5-0 out of 5 stars Classic is best..!
Thank you..!

Which is precisely why I prefer an old classic road car such as my humble 1500cc, 1971 VW Beetle, as opposed to a modern day all bells ringing, singing and dancing, clinical, spiritless non-DIY friendly modern day high performance vehicle.

Creature comforts aside, you don't have to break the speed limit nor the bank to experience the physical limitations of such cars.

Need I say anymore?

Case rested. For those who don't know now. You'll never know. Your loss is my gain.

Of course if you're of adequate means the above isn't an issue. Simply pay your fee and enjoy your track day etc. :)

Well done Sierra for enlightening the previously unfamiliar..!

5-0 out of 5 stars This simulation is not 6 years old .
I think there is unanimity about the quality of this simulation . I just want to highlight the fact that, as soon as you install it as a 1998 graphically obsolete software, you have just put the foot in the door. In the next hour(s), through free downloads from the web, you will polish it into what I think is still the best road circuit simulation in 2004 : photo quality graphics, hundreds of circuits sometimes better than the originals ( you'll find the old Monza with the oval, Ile of Man TT, Limerock Park, Oulton Park, Le Mans, Laguna Seca ....) . Someone provides force feedback, someone else a Nurburgring tutorial ... it never stops. There are online leagues everywhere from Brazil to Sweden and you get all that stuff, legally, for less than $10 . Come on in !

4-0 out of 5 stars A classic
Fond memories of this one. This game was way ahead of its time.I think it came out around 1997, and plenty of people still play it as of late 2003 from what I hear.It had/has very good graphics, outstanding engine sounds, and an excellent physics model. These '60's Gran Prix F1 cars are very difficult to keep on the track. And rightly so, because like their real world counterparts, they have very skinny tires and no wings for downforce.A must have for racing enthusiasts.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good game
If you dont like rodeo then dont bother. If you like bullriding or if you are a bullrider like me, buy it. Don't listen to these other guys, who's only experience in bullriding is a 5 minute cruise on this game. I loved it and if you even just watch the PBR on TNN every saterday night I think you will like it, but if you hate bullriding, have never even watched it and are extremly close minded, then you are not going to like it.

3-0 out of 5 stars Play the game before you review it, please
Okay, so it's not the most spectacular game concept around. It isdefinitely a "bubba game" catering to the mass market. Hard coregamers mock it.

But, have any of those gamers actually played thisgame?

I have. It's not my type of game, but I can see how it would befun. Check out the screenshots: it's pretty funny watching a bull kick acowboy sky high. The graphics are actually decent. It's not like this issome Wizardworks piece of garbage; it's Sierra, and Sierra makes qualitygames.

So, yes, it's not a sophisticated work of art like Deus Ex orSystem Shock 2. It won't keep you playing for hours and hours like Diablo2. But it's a fun little diversion, it's fun, and it does a great jobsatisfying a niche. Those who are into bull riding and rodeos will reallylike this game.

My question is, are people who are really into rodeos andbull riding also computer owners? Apparently so, because Sierra madeProfessional Bull Rider 2...

1-0 out of 5 stars Oh joy, another bad game....
Have you ever watched water boil? It's a lot funner than this game. You'resupposed to stay on the bull for about 9 seconds, that's a lot longer thanyou should play this game.

1-0 out of 5 stars Fool's Gambit
Alright, this game is the biggest joke in the computer gaming world. Thethought that Sierra could stab the backs of every gamer in an attempt tomake the 'big-audience sell-out' game is sickening and sad. This game hasbeen renounced by EVERY major computer game reporting agency and has beenliterally laughed off the shelves. But hell, if you always wanted to be abull-rider, or even a bull, and you like poorly designed slip-shod games, buy it, quick. Or take your money and give it to the homeless guy down thestreet. His little dance of joy should be 10x's more entertaining than the2.1 seconds of joy you'll get from this game. And that's from the titlescreen... Remember folks a feature is PLAYING AS THE BULL!!!

Amazon.com Review

At last, the prayers of NASCAR Racing 3 fans have beenanswered. Its sequel, NASCAR Racing 4, comes with theoutstanding physics model hard-core NASCAR fans have been clamoringfor, along with all 21 tracks from the 2000 Winston Cup season and carsfrom all four NASCAR manufacturers. It's the most complete NASCARsimulation to date, and the realistic physics add a new dimension tothe gameplay. Proper weight transfer is now imperative, and adjustmentsmade to spoilers, shocks, and other components of the car becomeimmediately evident on the track as the car reacts accordingly.

With the right processor and video card, NASCAR Racing 4 cangenerate visuals that are difficult to distinguish from TV broadcasts.Smoke from burnouts and collisions can hang in the air for minutes, andthe new physics model means cars hunker down on their shocks whilebraking and turning. The tracks are all cracked and pitted, with tiremarks and oil trails slowly building up on the standard racing lines. The cars feature immaculate paint jobs that are fully customizableusing the included painting tools.

Those shiny cars can quickly lose their luster thanks to the new damagemodel. Minor bumps and scrapes can take the paint off, while majoraltercations can leave you with bent wheels, a crumpled hood thatobscures your vision, or any of a million other problems. The car'shandling changes based on the damage it has suffered, sometimes pullingso violently to the right or left that racing becomes impossible. Anadded effect of the new physics model is that cars can finally getairborne, making wrecks more realistic than any seen in a NASCARsimulation.

The single-player mode offers computer-controlled opponents that driverealistically, although they can be too aggressive if you're on a linethey want. It's much more fun to build some skill in the single-playergame and then migrate to online play, where drivers from around theworld perpetually challenge one another. NASCAR Racing 4 isn'tperfect at this point, but a few patches should correct what minorflaws it has, and it still stands as the best NASCAR simulation evercreated. --T. Byrl Baker

Pros:

  • Completely revamped physics model
  • Excellent graphics
  • Wonderful online community

  • Requires a topnotch computer for best visuals
  • Mastering the realistic new physics model can take weeks ofpractice

5-0 out of 5 stars The best Nascar game ever.
The absolute best nascar game ever, Nascar Racing 4.Ive played them all, and this one is the simply the only 1 I ever play at this point, because none other lives up to its features and playability.I highly recomend this game if you enjoy nascar sims, just be sure you have a good wheel.

5-0 out of 5 stars this is the best game ever
This game is cool becasue it has cool 3d grafits and i hope they make nascar racing 5.

5-0 out of 5 stars Requirements
I own the Game.. AllThough The requirements don't mention it, Nascar4 also works with WINXP also.. I have XP and I have no problem with it.. After you install, connect on line and let it update.. Great graphics.. Smooth controls with Thrustmaster Racing Wheel.. Better than Nascar Thunder or Nascar2003..

5-0 out of 5 stars It's more than you think!
Do you want monster realism and physics?Scrutinize this one with a lot of nitpicking, folks, because what we have here is a reformation of one of the most "highly valued" games around.Want to go backwards (but driving forward) at 188 m.p.h. (don't mean to sound harsh, but)?Go ahead. You'll experience the major collision with about 30 cars flipping up into the air sideways, or many different ways. While viewing the replay, you'll see one of the front panels of many race cars fly up 50' in the air; glass, parts, destruction....This is more like NASCAR, people!

Handling your car can be a slight boo-boo, unless you download the patch, where not only will you then exceed in winning some famous races, but become more skilled for multiplayer races.

Just listen to the major BOOM when you smash head on into one of those Nascar cars at 190 m.p.h.We've got some major sound effects!!Many other great sounds, like screeching the tires, tires exploding, you name it.

Also, want to paint your own vehicle?Go to the paintshop.Save a few images from the internet and put them on your car!

If you want, you can operate on your car, tune it any way you want!

That's the reformation of a great Nascar game, people.Bright, sophisticated, brilliant details and graphics and gameplay make this the worthy, leading successor of all the Nascar games out there for the PC.

3-0 out of 5 stars nascar racing #4
first i did not get a book of instructions with the game?? i had to learn on my own. my pit crew is not visible, don't know how to find them? the game goes in stop motion from time to time and the sound goes off all the time. i think it should be more simple to operate--to many buttons on the key board that changes things. in part the game is real fun and i plan on buying nascar 2002 soon. i just hope i get a book this time. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Very fun game
This game is SO much fun.It has 27 different holes, including Future City, Sawmill, and Neptune's Kingdom. This is so much fun, and very addicting!I also love when I have my speakers on, because the sound effects on this game are so cool.Buy this game.

5-0 out of 5 stars 3-D ultra Minigolf Deluxe
The reason I bought this game was to send it to my grandaughter. She loves it. Everytime she comes to visit she has to play. I got it from a friend about a year ago. We have a great time with it.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great game without the cheats
The sounds, music, and minigolf physics are great.I could never complain about that. The only problem is the cheats.I played against people online, and they were acing even 7 out of 9 holes!Where's the fun in that?I did learn one cheat, but the game is so boring when you play with it.Plus, that hole is pretty much ruined for me, since I now always get a guaranteed hole-in-one on it. It doesn't take too long to get used to the game (only fifteen minutes of putting around, and then you get the general idea of how hard to swing, etc.)Some of the holes, especially in the deluxe course, take a long time to load (I had it on a 100 mhz computer), unless you either have a better computer, or do the full install (I recommend both.)If you do the full install, you can play without the CD. Don't learn the cheats; they ruin the game.Plus, if you play online, the scores of the people you play against DO get posted on your computer's high score list, so think twice about playing against cheaters. The race mode is cool (get the ball in the hole as fast as you can) while the hole-by-hole mode is pretty dumb (it gives you a point if you win against someone else; gives them a point if they lose.)The normal mode is cool. Three nine-hole courses, three modes. What more could you want?

3-0 out of 5 stars 3-D Ultra Minigolf Deluxe
A very fun game. However, because of the cheats, soon everyone is aceing most of the holes.Because of that, the replay value suffers.Online it's ace after ace (ho hum).Too bad because the play, graphics, sound, etc. are loads of fun. ... Read more

Amazon.com Review

To put it succinctly, Quake II's first victim is the original Quake. This first-person shooter is more graphically hip and audibly slick than its predecessor; the creators even found it within their furry brains to provide for a more cohesive story line.

But, with all the toothy weapons, power-ups and nasty surprises, it's not always the BFD-equipped grunt that wins the day. Weapons, armor, and power-ups are essential, but sometimes it's the odd or unexpected combination of gear and guns that's going to make the difference. This is also true, significantly, for the death match, where any number of variables now make for a more intense and even multiplayer melee.

Single players have cause for rejoicing as well. A more logical and integrated mission-driven option actually manages to string together a crude story line. It's enough to infuse some genuine chills as the mission progresses deep within the bowels of the blasted-out complex. --Tamara Hladik ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Dont Belive it.....Lies All Lies
There is no way this game is better than motocross madness 2, if you allready have mcm2 dont buy this game mcm2 is like a top notch game this game is low rate its controls just bite and the graphics are mediocre. If u plan on buying a motocross game go w/ motocross madness 2 trust me u cant go wrong w/ that game.

5-0 out of 5 stars Super Awsome Game!!!
This game is so awsome! It has real awsome scenes and cool bikes.I am a girl who is a gigant fan of Motocross and Supercross. And this game is worth the money!...

5-0 out of 5 stars Better Than Motocross Madness 2!
Although the shell art leaves a lot to be desired and there aren't half as many bells and whistles as Motocross Madness 2 as well as multiplayer gaming on WON isn't near as nice as "The Zone"....the physics tothis game kills Motocross Madness 2!

4-0 out of 5 stars This game rocks!
I bought this game to compare it to Motocross Madness. The graphics are awesome and the tricks you can do while riding are insane. This game is worth the money. The only down fall is that the physics of the motorcyclewhile riding are unrealistic. The bike is hard to control. ... Read more

Amazon.com Review

NASCAR fans, start your engines! NASCAR 3, the successor to the extremely popular NASCAR 1999, improves the series with better physics, seriously improved graphics, and more realistic tracks than ever before.

We really like the improvements that have been made to the game's special effects, available for those of us with 3-D accelerator cards. The smoke and dust effects are particularly convincing compared to those of the previous version. Audio is also much improved, and gamers with 3-D audio cards can enjoy some eerily realistic surround sound effects. It's possible to tell where another car is in relation to you simply by listening closely.

Novices can turn down many of the simulation's realism options and basically transform the simulation into an arcade game, but seasoned racers are still free to roll up their sleeves and modify virtually every aspect of their cars. From the amount of duct tape to put on the grille, to infinitesimally small changes in the stagger of the tires, if you can do it in real life you can probably do it in the game.

Races take place on a variety of familiar tracks. Darlington, Talladega, the Milwaukee Mile, Sears Point, Watkins Glen, and 23 other familiar ovals and road courses are rendered in superb detail. The excellent manual outlines the history of each venue and provides tips for car setups so beginners can get started right away. If people have ever told you that NASCAR racing is boring because all you have to do is turn left, put them behind the wheel of NASCAR 3 so they can see firsthand what it's really all about. --T. Byrl Baker

Pros:

  • Believable physics model
  • Crisp 3-D accelerated graphics
  • Convincing 3-D sound effects
  • Many tracks and lots of tweaking options for nearly infinite replayability
Cons:
  • Physics model wasn't completely overhauled as was expected
  • Graphics are clean but not incredibly detailed

3-0 out of 5 stars not good enough
This is a game with tracks too long and graphics which are too boring.

4-0 out of 5 stars Best Nascar game yet
Nascar Racing 3 is a very good simulation of Nascar Racing. Very highly detailed tracks to very real engine sounds. You are able to go into the pit and select right side tires, left sides tires, repair damage, etc. But there is one problem with the AI in the game. The AI is not very realistic. For instance, if I were going around the outside of somebody in a turn they would probably drift up and hit me. Over it is a classic so I recommend you purchase it.

2-0 out of 5 stars Fun for about 1 month
This game reminds me of many toys that looked so fun when I was a kid, but when I got them the fun wore off about as fast as the flavor of chewing gum. At first it's fun to experience the feel of navigating around the Nascar tracks and finding the best racing line.Naturally, once you feel you can handle a car reasonably well, you'll want to race. This is where too many programming flaws render the game unenjoyable. The first main difficulty is that it's extremely difficult to judge, even with 3-D graphics, just how close objects are to your car. This difficulty will make ineffective any effort to find a competitive edge by pushing your car to the limit. You will invariably scrape walls and hit other cars, without improving judgement.Likewise, your pit stall is poorly marked, leaving another guessing game as to when to stop. A second major problem is that incorrect and often conflicting information provided by the crew chief and spotter frequently occur. For example, under yellow flag conditions you are told which car to stay behind, although you may hear two or three car numbers in one lap.Additionally, it is often impossible to find the car you are told to stay behind, even when you completely stop and wait for it.Yet, if you do stop and wait, cars that should stay behind you won't.The kicker is that you will receive a black flag penalty for not finding your correct spot in line. These and other problems add up eventually, and you may find yourself more annoyed then amused.I've now owned the product for about a year, and find no more pleasure in playing it.Adding in the cost of the obligatory 'joystick' wheel, this was an expensive lesson learned.

5-0 out of 5 stars This game brings out the kid in you
This game is designed around realism that the true Nascar fan, and driver are looking for. It's vast amount of options give each skill level a challenge.WARNING:This game is addicting.

Right away, you're going to feel like you're actually on the track. The 3D affects are very good, and the graphics are awesome.Don't consider buying the game though, unless you're going to also purchase a steering wheel, and pedals (sold seperately).

Like any game on the market, there are room for some minor improvements, but don't let that stop you from experiencing the thrill of competing against others on the track. If you feel the need for speed, then this is the game for you. This is definately 5 star fun !

1-0 out of 5 stars big let down
this game is a huge let down.you can't control your car on any of the tracks.Setting up your car is so difficult unless you really know alot about setting a car up. ... Read more

NASCAR Legends returns players to the racing season of 1970 by including many of the legendary cars, drivers, and racetracks from that 48-race season. Aspiring drivers race against such NASCAR icons as Richard Petty, Cale Yarborough, and Bobby Allison. Sixteen accurately rendered tracks are offered; plan to race on the Darlington Raceway, Texas World Speedway, and Alabama International Motor Speedway, among others.

NASCAR Legends was made with hard-core motor purists in mind. Inside each prerace garage, drivers can tweak such car characteristics as tire pressure, suspension, gear ratios, and screw jacks. Gamers looking for an arcade racing game like Need for Speed need not apply; NASCAR Legends's rigorous dedication to statistics offers a complex, yet rewarding gaming experience. For optimum performance, use a Direct3D-based accelerator card to achieve crisp graphics and smooth frame rates, and a steering controller to master the tough turns. --Doug Radcliffe

Pros:

  • Realistic driving model
  • Faithful reproduction of famous cars and tracks
  • Great force-feedback support
Con:
  • Weak sound

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Game
This game has a lot of wonderfully recreated tracks.Michigan 30 years ago looked a whole lot different and it is displayed in this game. Also the cars handle different and pit stradgey comes into play a lot more.I have won many a races based just off of pit stradgey than fast cars.I think everyone that likes NASCAR should get this game.

4-0 out of 5 stars Follow-up to my earlier review
I've gotten some more seat time with this sim and it continues to impress me.I'm using CH Products Combatstick with CH rudder pedals and there's a switch on the pedals to alternate between using the pedals as rudder controls for flight sims and using them as brake/throttle for driving sims. Now that I'm using them properly, I'm really getting hooked on NASCAR Legends.I've painted my own car, written my own bio, built 2 different set-ups (speedway and short-track), and am getting the hang of manual shifting, but I still have to reduce the AI strength to 90% and the race lengths to 25% or 30% just to make it to the end.On my Dell 1.3 Ghz Pentium 4 machine, the graphics absolutely fly, which shouldn't be surprising as anyone with a Pentium 200Mhz 64 Mb RAM PC (or more) should have no problem running the sim well.Just remember to install the patch - during installation the exec will prompt you to go to the website - to take advantage of this sim at its best.If NASCAR 3 runs well on your computer, Legends will run well, too.

Tracks: AlabamaMotor Speedway (now Talladega), Atlanta Int'l Raceway, Bowman Gray Stadium, Bristol Intern'l Speedway, Charlotte (now Lowe's) Motor Speedway, Darlington Raceway, Greenville-Pickens Speedway, Martinsville Speedway, Michigan Speedway, N.C.-Rockingham Speedway, North Wilkesboro Speedway, Ontario Motor Speedway, Richmond Fairgrounds, Riverside International (no longer in existence), Texas World Speedway, and Thompson Speedway.Overall, a good mix of superspeedways and short-tracks with one road course.

4-0 out of 5 stars A good, fun middle-of-the-road racing sim
I was 7 years old when Richard Petty raced at Daytona, but I remember looking through all of my parent's old vacation pictures of their time at the tracks. All of the cars I remember from those races are in this sim: the Dodge Daytona, Ford Torino, Plymouth Superbird, and even the rare Mercury Cyclone are there, complete with 70's vintage sponsor signs in the outfield. This sim recreates a few tracks which no longer exist, which is kind of neat for long-time racing fans who remember them.Graphics are good enough and are fast on today's Pentium 3 and 4 machines, which allows you to see a lot more cars without the slideshow effects of the newer NASCAR sims. You get to adjust your suspension, steering, fuel load, and tire pressure and you can create your own custom paint job.I have a joystick and set of rudder pedals, but I haven't figured out (yet) how to get the game to recognize my flight pedals as brake/gas.I don't do much racing on computer and I only started following NASCAR this year, but this game is a hoot to play.Slider bars permit the computer-controlled cars to be adjusted in skill, the player-controlled car can be made to drive more realistically, and the tire pressure, suspension, caster and camber, and fuel load can all be adjusted to affect how the player's car drives, too.I haven't had a chance to play with the paint shop to change the color of my car, but that should be a lot of fun, too.The only thing lacking is better damage effects and better support for my flight rudder pedals, but that may just be a matter of my reading the player manual.

2-0 out of 5 stars Legendary Gaming, That is what this game is!
I recently bought this item for 10 bucks of a person I know.I thought he was crazy giving me a 50 dollar game for 10 bucks, but I just thought hewas desperate.I was dead wrong. I was so excited to install and play it.That is where I found the first of many problems with the game.Icorrectly installed NASCAR LEGENDS, but it would not run.I installed it 3or 4 times trying to get it to work and I opened the game every wayimaginable, but It still ceased to open.It turned out that I had to goonline and download the patch for the game just to get it to work. Then, when it finnally did work, I was very disapointed in it.The game hasdrivers, their cars, and the tracks from 1970, which was all very accurate. But it had HORRIBLE graphics. It had the EXACT same graphics as NASCARRACING 2, which was a couple years old, not to mention that the setup andeverything else in the game was exactly the same. All I think they did wastook NASCAR 2, and slapped some older cars, older drivers, and some oldertracks in the game.I was not very happy. The game is definatly NOT worth50 bucks, not by a long shot. And you are probably thinking that I didntlike the game because I am not a hardcore nascar fan, but that is wrong.I'm as hardcore as they get, so it isnt me.The game really should've beena 15 dollar expansion pack for Nascar 2. And to add on top of that, theonly controller of mine the game would use was the keyboard. I dont knowabout you, but I dont spend big bucks on nice steering wheels, joysticks, and gamepads. In conclusion, do not buy this game that should have beenreleased 5 years ago. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars PBR rocks and so does this game!!!
I love the pbr, so what better way to have the pbr every day than a game. This game is NOT for people who who don't like or don't know anything about the pbr. You need to understand the concept of it before you play the game. The graphics are great and it is cool how you can be the cowboy or the bull. Anyone who says that this game stinks is out of their mind and probably can't appreciate the awesomeness that is the PBR!!!!

4-0 out of 5 stars A good game that could have been a lot better
Sierra Sports Professional Bullrider 2 is a good simulation of bullriding that still has a lot of room for improvement.Let me say right here that you have to be a rodeo fan to appreciate this game.If you don't understand bullriding, then don't even bother with this game.Gameplay is one of the strongpoints of this game. When controlling the cowboy, you use the joystick to control his body position in relation to the bull. The joystick, in a sense, becomes your body.On the harder levels you need to react quickly to the bull's movements or you will find yourself eating dirt with the bull's horns in your back. Just like in real bullriding. You can also control the bull, which I never really enjoyed. There is a season mode for both cowboys and bulls where you compete at all of the major PBR stops while trying to win the championship. The rules and the way the events run are all the same as the way the PBR does it. There is a special mode for bullfighting which is a fun diversion when you start to get bored with the regular game.

The graphics are ok, but I really think they could have done a much better job in this area. The cowboy animations are pretty good and the bull animations look good from behind. But when you see the bull from the side it looks stiff and unnatural.Thecowboys are all the same height in the game and there is only one face for all the cowboys with different facial hair added. There are a good number of real bulls in the game and a lot of bulls created by Sierra.I would like to see any future versions have all real bulls. There are lots of little things like that that they could have done to the game to make it feel more realistic. If Sierra is going to pursue this market, the least they can do is add all the little perks that they do for the other sports games.

Sierra has made good bullriding game in Professional Bullrider 2.It remains to be seen if they can make a great bullriding game.

5-0 out of 5 stars If you're a cowboy you gotta have this one!
As a mother of a want-to-be bull rider, I must say this game is action packed full of entertainment. For my son,Tyler, Michigan's 4 time State Champion Dummy Roper, this is a must have game. We bought it once and lost the disk. Now, I'm looking fratically to replace it. But I must admitt, you do have to know the ins and outs of rodeo to appreciate this game. It helps to know the different bulls listed and the riders. My son was named after Ty Murray and enjoys playing as him. This is a great game and worth every penny. Cowboy up and enjoy!! Hats off to you Sierra Sports on a job well done.

3-0 out of 5 stars This Game is an OK game
I read the reviews and someone said that it takes 2 seconds instead of 8.You need a faster computer for this game to work right.I thinkthis game is fun but it does get kind of boring once you play it all day for a whole week.I think playing the cowboy is the hardest.Playing the bull is easy and fun.

4-0 out of 5 stars OK Game
This game was NOT all I expected. Yes, it is very cool you can make your own cowboys and bull, but that is the most exciting part. When you rid the bull it is supposed to take eight seconds, but on the game it takes about 2. Still this game is WAY better than the first. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars rather disapointing
This collection would be fun if all the games could be played head to head online, but they can't.The pool game is fun but you are much better off buying Sierra's Maximum Pool instead.

3-0 out of 5 stars Cool game but not awesome!
This is a cool fun game. I like the amusement park pinball game the best. It's the easiest and most fun to play. Real fast mouse and button play is needed for this game. I didnt like the fact you couldnt use a game pad with it. The pool and the pinball game included with this game are not the full versions of the game. To get the full versions of these two games you will have to purchase the two separately. The music is cool but not alot of variety. The graphics in this game are awesome! Amazon.com Review

Blobs of ectoplasm, angry Rottweilers, and sneaky lawn dwarfs are just afew of the obstacles you'll encounter playing 3-D Ultra Radio ControlRacers. This racing game boasts lush graphics, customization options thataccommodate the clueless as well as the hardcore racer, and plenty of fun-lovingattitude. This is the only CD-ROM we've encountered where we must endure bothchicken attacks and an announcer blaring, "What a pathetic display!" as we limpacross the finish line dead last.

Racers can use the keyboard, a joystick, or the mouse to control theremote-control car they chose. The keyboard option is extremely squirrelly, mousing iseasier, and, well, there's a reason joysticks are called what they are. Playerscan race the computer, go solo around the tracks, race another player, or get ona circuit and race for "money" that they can use to buy upgrades for theirvehicles. For the truly helpless, there's a controlled steering option thatdrives the car around the track automatically as the player supplies theacceleration. Players also have the option of enabling or disabling power-ups onthe tracks--pick these up and your car can inflict bottle rockets, oil slicks, electrical arcs, and more on opponents. There are also a couple of nonracinggames: a soccer game with cars as players, and battle ball, a game in whichplayers use their cars to hit balls into a pit.

This Windows-only game's strongest points are the 16 tracks that range fromsimple to insane, and the way players can manipulate the program to suit andsatisfy a wide range of racing skills. Racing-impaired testers had fun avoidingdemented lawn dwarfs in Backyard, and dodging wayward amphibians that hop out ofFrog Pond. Meanwhile, tracks like Haunted and Aztec challenged the truegearheads. Just watch out for that nasty chicken on Hillbilly Hill. --AnneErickson ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars very fun game for all ages!
3D Ultra RC Racers is a great game! The graphics are excellent with richly rendered "top down" views. There are eight tracks of various difficultly levels from "easy" to "insane".I normally do single races but you can also progress thru a season where you gain money by winning races and can upgrade your RC car.You can choose from four types of vehicles with multiple paint schemes each and can play against a friend or the computer. It ran flawlessly even on my old system (233 mhz) and has different resolutions; 800x600 looks great! This is an awesome game for any age esp. if you have had experience with real RC cars.Check this out for sure!

5-0 out of 5 stars Totaly Awesome !
I have been into Radio Control Cars for several years and this game is about as close as you can get to the real thing. I do recomend a gamepad or a rc wheel type controler. If you do purcahse this game, make sure to visitthe Sierra web site and get the patch. It adds a paint editor that lets youadd your own paint jobs.

4-0 out of 5 stars Lots of fun for two people
I have many car programs. The key for me is that I want to be able to enjoy the game and I want my 3-year old to be able to play it by himself.Using Midtown Madness and Monster Truck Race as my normal games of choice.

As a huge positive, I truely enjoy being able to play with two people atthe same time on the same computer. However it would be nice to have thechoice of playing on the same screen, rather than only using the splitscreen (though I understand the necessity when the two racers are atdifferent parts of the course). The eight tracks are enjoyable anddifferent...can be a lot of fun, though when the dog jumps out to eat myson's car he gets a little scared.

My biggest complaint is the problem'sI have when using my joystick to play, it is so screwy that I usually justuse the keyboard to steer.

Overall I give the game a 4, it is a lot offun, though the serious gamer might get bored with it after a while.Ilove the extra features you can pick up like firecrackers and rockets toshoot at the other cars.

4-0 out of 5 stars Radi Control Racers, Fun for the whole family
When i bought this game it looked pretty good, when I played it I was even more satisfied with it. It is a great game, it can be played one or two player mode. It could use some more tracks. With only eight to choose fromit limits the fun. This game is great ... Read more

Amazon.com Review

Deer Avenger 2 puts you in the role of an angry buck whose girlfriend (a winsome doe) was plowed into the road by a trio of crazed hunters. Track them in the city, the suburbs, and Hicksville, using one of three weapons, to, um, "tranquilize" them. You'll run into plenty of obstacles, though: mailmen with automatic weapons, soccer moms with advanced tactical training, and more.

The running commentary is funny at first but wears after a while--but that's what volume controls are for. You'll find yourself returning time and again to tranquilize humans into the Stone Age, avenging not just your white-tailed love but also every moose, pheasant, and wild turkey cut down in the prime of life. Game controls are simple, and the animation is good but not outstanding. Game play is fun and moderately challenging once you get used to the system humor. The violence may not be appropriate for small children, but teens and teens-at-heart will love Deer Avenger 2.--Rob Lightner ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome parody of those stupid 3D Deer Huntin' games.
This little jewel of satire came out around the time of the Deer Huntin' PC game fad.

I went to Rock Hill High School, a place where every student on the bus is a bigoted hick with an empty 20 ounce pepsi bottle for a spittoon (even some of the girls, LOL). This one sped would play 3D Deer Hunting each morning of homeroom (our teacher was nice enough to let us play on the under-budget computers) One day a friend and I brought Deer Avenger and started playing it, boy did it send those skoal-chewing hicks into a Redneck RampageĀ™!

They saw what we were playing and started calling us every name they could think of. Mainly 3 letter letter words that start with F and end with G. But we didn't care, it was the funniest thing we'd done all school year aside from the time we screamed Black Power at the stupid skinhead sped's who yelled "White Power" in the halls. My friend and I were both caucasian and that's exactly why it was funny! Those poor rednecks didn't know what to think ^_^

If you loath the Outdoor Life Network and Jeff Foxworthy/Blue Collar Television makes you cringe in unbearable pain, get this game and start takin' out the trash... Trailer trash that is! Hey look, its a rare buck-toothed David Duke! QUICK, SHOOT IT!

Hmmm... done by the writers for Late Night with Conan O' Brian the same folks who did the writing for Father of The Pride. I love that show! ^.^

4-0 out of 5 stars Macglee Ratings
This game is funny but I disagree with some of the other reviewers on the proper target age.I got this game for my 9 year old daughter and she has loved it for a couple of years now.I recommend it for pre teens and teenies even more than adults. No one appreciates a good fart joke like a kid; a fart weapon?Heaven! The sexual allusions and sleaze factor are no grosser than the Simpsons or Married with Children. The revenge theme is also satisfying for teenies. Finally, it is very difficult to actually win this game for me, but my daughter (now 12) has achieved it many times.

For those who hesitate to expose "children" to this I say "Lighten up!"

3-0 out of 5 stars OK?
This game is fun and it is a little funny. But, It hardly has any gameplay theres only three levels and they are hard to beat. I bought this game for 10 bucks. I wouldnt buy it for no more than that. This game is ok for a once in a while game but its not worth no more than 10 bucks.

4-0 out of 5 stars buy this!!! or else
this game I wasn't so excited about at first, but right before I startedit I was already laughing my head off. this is by no doubt the funniestgame known to man. plus the graphics were as good as it gets. I recomendyou buy this game a.s.a.p.

4-0 out of 5 stars Deer Avenger 2, Deer in the City
The game is halirious and even though it can get boring after prolonged playing. You can pick from 3 guns (snoozie, RM16, and the dream weaver). The point of the game is to kill 3 hunters that were in a truck that ranover the bucks girlfreind (you are the buck). Each hunter has a place thathe hangs out in.People (like a bartender in a bar) in this area proctectthe hunter and you need to kill them all (takes 8 shots to kill them)before the hunter appears. The hunter is the hardest and once you kill himyou drag him out to the bucks hideout. After killing the first hunter youhave to kill the other 2.After you kill all 3 hunters you win the game, you can always go back and win the game again. It is hard to kill thehunters and takes practice. You can die very easily because all people youencounter shoot back.the only way to regain health is to shoot saltshakers, but you can only get a max. of40% of your health back. You cansave your game after you kill a hunter (there is room for 6 saved games). 4-0 out of 5 stars Buy it and pass on a laugh, fun!
This is a simple game in learning to navigate. You're a ticked-off deer going out to hunt a plague of hunters invading your woods. You have several devices for locating these killers (comical calls, brocolli activated farts, and a sack full of lures) You can hop from one of four seasons. As you defeat a prey, you gain their weapon. The better tactics you use, the more likely you are to encounter a higher-level of hunter. But as much as you can hunt them, they are there to shoot you. And they are varied from Boozer--the bear-hat lush, to Tad---the Wall Street GPS-equipped aristocrat,--to Zeke, an A-1 sportsman. After you kill one or die, you are sent back to a cabin where you can select a new season and pick a new weapon. Good luck.

4-0 out of 5 stars Funny
This is a great game to play if you are a hunter and ever thought that your the hunted because you never see dear but they always see you, you will laugh your butt off at this game.

3-0 out of 5 stars Starts off well
This game has an exciting beginning and is wicked funny. One drawback is that I find it impossible to kill the last hunter. Overall, the game is pretty easy except for the last two hunters and I recommend getting this game only if you play games about 30 minutes a day.

4-0 out of 5 stars Not for the serious gamer, but lots of fun
Well, until Simon & Schuster comes out with a 5th "Avenger" game...I've got 'em all.I haven't played it out yet, but with what I have played this is what I see.

The environment in "Deer 3D" is a excellent evolution from the first person side-scrolling in "Deer and Deer 2".Not knowing how much previous experience that S&S has with "true" 3D environments ("Bass" is really 2D with a third person perspective) this feels like a good start with somewhat usable terrain features. With a few small beefs.Either I haven't figured it out yet, or you can't climb the trees. An obvious hunters perch. Also do the trees factor into how hard it is for the hunter to hit you?If not they should, cover and concealment after all.And one observation. Is it just me, or are there no negative elevation values on the ground? There seems to be a definite level ground or zero point and it stays at zero or goes up from there, with the very obvious hills. But nothing going down.

The weapon collection is interesting, with one suggestion.Unless I haven't pulled it off yet, there's no "one shot kills."Any of the weapons have the very real potential to do it "quick n clean" but not in the game. This may be an obvious choice by S&S to increase the difficulty, or keep it a lighthearted fun game. But the possibility of it, controlled or random, would be nice.

As with "Bass" (see my review) this is not for the serious player of RPGs or RTSGs, looking to tax their new computer or graphics card. But for those of us loyalists that were hooked by the first "Avenger" it's GREAT.The only reasons that I'm not giving it five stars I've mentioned above. With the way they're advancing, if S&S takes this concept any further. There is a possibility that the next one can compete directly with the current flock of "serious" 1st person 3D shooters.

3-0 out of 5 stars A good gag gift...
I received this as a gag gift since I'm not a big fan of the hunting games. In Deer Avenger, you play the first person in the form of a deer, going after stereotypical hunters.Along the way, though, you have to make sure you don't shoot any friends like the hiker or environmentalist.

There are several weapons to be used as you progress in the game, both attacking ones and attracting ones (pizza, beer, etc.)There are also 'attractive' sounds used to lure the unsuspecting hunter.

I found the graphics in this game to be a bit behind the technology although the sound is appropriate for the scenario.

Playing the game only stays interesting for the first few hunts as a typical gamer will find that this game is too easy and offeres very few twists and turns.

Installation was quick and without glitches.

So buy it as a fun gift, but don't think that it will keep the recipient busy for any lenght of time. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars A great 4-star game
The reason I rated Viper racing 4 stars instead of 5 is because (You'll see if you're the plane) you can drive of the edge of the
earth. Realistic huh? NOT! I also found out that you can do flips. Other than that, Viper racing is a pretty good game. The graphics and sound are REALLY GOOD. Track detail is average.
This is a good game for intermiediate and advanced users.

P.S. In the garage, if you turn (in chassis) Bump to 0-0, rebound to 0-0, springs to 100-100, Anti-lock braking to 47-47 and (in align) height to 20.0-20.0...FEEL THE EFFECT!

5-0 out of 5 stars Viper Racing 2002
I for one have really enjoyed VR for about 4 years now, the graphics were great back when the game came out and now there even better with all the great car and track addons. we have brought the game a long ways in the past years. the sound of the game was and still is the best i have heard for a pc game no music.. dont need it anyway :) i'd rather listen to the hp of an engine and tires burning rubber around the coners. game play, try racing games like gt3 for ps2 online.. not gona happen. hook up with some friends and get in a 8 player multiplayer game going and hang on to your hats! this game its way worth 10 bucks at any retail store that you can find it at. and now with high res textures it may even get to the point of beating the graphics of gt3.. hmmm =)

5-0 out of 5 stars Great game
This game is great. It takes racing reality to a new level, for such an old game. I still think that nfs's new releases only equal viper racing, and the capability to create your own cars for the game gives it a whole new perspective. The paintshop and custom made skins on the web are an added bonus. If there's one racing game to go for, its viper racing.
-edit- Be sure to look for my addon Mach 1 Mustang, with realistic wheelbase dimensions, Mustang sounds, drag tires, and custom rims!

2-0 out of 5 stars Good for its day, but not anymore
I'm sure this racing sim had a pretty good audience back when it was introduced, but the years have not been as kind to it as it has to other racing sims, such as NASCAR Legends which still has a good audience."Viper Racing" has nothing but fictitious tracks that look more or less like futuristic arenas from an arcade game, which wouldn't be so bad if there were more tracks to choose from.On the upside, you get to customize your car.On the downside, all of the cars are the same unless you adjust the suspension and such. You're better off with one of the "Need For Speed" games or a copy of "NASCAR Legends".If Sierra Sports had used the real GT racing season as a model for this racing sim, it would've been more enjoyable.

5-0 out of 5 stars The most realistic race-simulation ever.
Who cares about Gran Turismo? Ok, it has a lot of cars, but you can drive to the wall at 300km/h and bounce off smiling. Viper racing is totally different. It is very smooth to drive and it also takes damage when you hit something. Dodge Viper is also the most beautiful car in the world.

Viper racing is an old game already but still worth the ~15$ it costs right now. I?ve had it for years and I still play it. ... Read more

Amazon.com Product Description

This is what happens when animals fight back. Deer Avenger: Open Season is a collection of all three Deer Avenger parody games in one package. Join Bambo, one angry buck, bent on revenge against the yuppies and rednecks that hunt him. Pick up your M-16 and flush them out, because it's you or them.

The original Deer Avenger lets you turn the tables on the hunters. Use powerful deer farts and mating calls, and then blast them with deer pellets, an M-16, or a bazooka. In Deer Avenger 2: Deer in the City, you'll head into lovely Armpit Estates and tranquilize everyone in the entire neighborhood, even the vulgar housewife, as you track down the suburban soldier of misfortune that ran over your gal. Show up at the Swamp Ass Grill and unleash your fury on its boozy, bleary-eyed humanity. Check out the '70s disco freak as you hunt down the good ol' boy who laughed at your anguish when he permanently tattooed your babe on the front fender of his SUV. Don't worry if you're a bad shot. You can also fart at your victims and knock them out cold.

Deer Avenger 3D is the first 3-D version of the parody series in which the hunted becomes the hunter. Players again assume the role of Bambo, whose romantic desires must be put on hold until all the forest animals are safe from hunters. There are four locations in which to hunt, and your prey has different levels of skills and abilities. Bambo's arsenal includes shotguns, rifles, automatic weapons, and atomic-powered particle farts. You will have access to lures such as beef jerky and fart-inducing snacks, plus nature lovers and other bystanders will help you clear the forest of hunters. ... Read more

Amazon.com Review

Sure, there are more modern NASCAR games out there. But if your computerisn't the latest and greatest machine on the block NASCAR Racing 99 mightdeliver smoother racing satisfaction. This older title is crammed with enoughfeatures to keep fans of the sport satisfied for months, and it features anaccurate enough physics model to be believable. NASCAR 99 simulatesindividual races or the entire NASCAR Cup, NASCAR Grand National, or NASCARCraftsman truck events.

The real challenge of this simulation is tweaking your car or truck so it runsperfectly on all of the 35 tracks simulated in the game. The modificationsplayers can make are extensive, and the results of a good (or bad) tweakingsession are immediately apparent after a few practice laps.

The graphics for the cars, trucks, and tracks are cleanly drawn, but the specialeffects suffer. Smoke is especially bad, consisting of several flat, 2-D gray"puffs" strung together in a row. The good news is that the lack of detail inthe graphics means the game will run smoothly on just about any modern computersystem. And you'll need all the speed your computer can deliver frames, sincethis game is all about precision. One wrong move in the middle of a full fieldof cars and you can forget about finishing the lap, let alone the race, thanksto NASCAR 99's extensive damage model. --T. Byrl Baker

Pros:

  • Clean, colorful track, car, and truck graphics
  • Decent physics model
  • Lets players participate in several NASCAR series and events
Cons:
  • Bad special-effects graphics
  • Setting up your car perfectly takes a lot of practice and patience

1-0 out of 5 stars poor racing
I LIKE MANY WAS SOLD BY THE COVER AND VIDEO CLIPS AS SHOWN ON THE BACK,BEWARE THAT THE GAME GRAPHICS ARE SIMILIAR TO THE VERY FIRST NINTENDO PUT OUT AND SO FAR I SEE NO OPTION TO SELECT THE CAR OF MY CHOICE-ONLY THE COMPUTER GENERATED CAR WHICH IS UNCONTROLABLE TILL YOU FINE TUNE IT.THE OTHER CARS ON THE TRACK PASS THRU EACH OTHER MAKING RACING A JOKE,PLUS THEY DON'T EVEN START THE RACE LIKE TRUE NASCAR--IT STARTS FROM A DEAD STOP AND THE PC CARS MAGICALLY SHOOT OUT 1/4 A LAP AHEAD RIGHT OFF THE START.THIS IS THE WORST NASCAR GAME I HAVE EVER PLAYED UNLESS YOUR A CREW CHIEF FOR A STOCK CAR RACE TEAM THE SET UP IS A TOTAL NIGHTMARE,WAY TOO IN DEPTH FOR THE AVERAGE GAMER WHO JUST WANTS TO RACE-NOT SPEND A DAY SETTING UP FOR ONE TRACK.IF YOU WANT A REAL KICKIN' GAME BUY NASCAR REVOLUTION SE,FOUND IN THE BLUE TOP TEN GAME COMBO.THIS GAME SETS THE CARS UP FOR YOU,THE GRAPHICS ARE TRULY PHENOMENAL AND FAR BETTER THAN PS2 OR X-BOX GAMES.THE CARS HANDLE MUCH BETTER AND DO NOT PASS THRU EACH OTHER,AND DO WRECK EACH OTHER AT TIMES.THE FUN FACTOR GOES THRU THE ROOF ON REVOLUTION SE,I'VE PLAYED IT SO MUCH I'VE GOTTEN BLISTERS ON MY THUMBS BUT IT'S THAT GOOD!!!!!A MUST FOR THE TRUE NASCAR PC GAMER---FOR THE BEST NASCAR GAME I'VE SEEN OUT YET--HAPPY RACING!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars great game
