5-0 out of 5 stars Great game
Trophy Bass 3D was the first fishing sim I bought. TB4 is much better and has several very cool features. I like the point-of-view camera view (angler view). It gives you a real "you are there" perspective. The fish graphics are a bit dated (remember this is a 2000 game). The lure selection is incredible, and so is the variety of lakes offered. Something for everyone. Do a google search and download the demo. You will end up buying the full game. I switch back between this game and Bass Fishing 2003.

5-0 out of 5 stars Realism Is the Key
Trophy Bass 4 is the most realistic fishing simulation I have ever played.Every weather condition has a different effect on the fish as to where they are located on each individual lake. Also every type of weather condition calls for different lure techniques for those situations. This game will test your knowledge and skill. If you do not have this game already I strongly suggest picking it up.

5-0 out of 5 stars Field & Stream: Trophy Bass 4 will get you 'hooked'!
In the UK, as it could be said around the world, fishing has been described as THE favourite outdoor pastime and 'Field & Stream: Trophy Bass 4' has brought the thrill of the catch to the confines of your lounge.

It features over 30 species of freshwater gamefish including Stripers, Walleyes, Catfish and Muskies.

On your boat, you will have 1000's of rod, reel and lure combinations available to you along with underwater sonar, map and compass and two kinds of motor propulsion.

You can play either single fishing trip, career mode or even online in the multiplayer link-ups, fishing on dozens of reknowned lakes throughout the USA.

There is so much to this game that I cannot begin to give it justice.I'm 'hooked' and I can't even fish for 'reel'! (almost a pun there).

5-0 out of 5 stars If you love to fish...
I love to fish but I had an unfortunate injury some 20 years ago and I use a wheelchair to get around. This lets me fish whenever & places that I probably would not get a chance to go fishing at. I only wish it had a few more lakes in the northern part of the USA or even Canada. Even the great lakes would be cool. Overall I love the game and all the options that it gives you.

5-0 out of 5 stars I can't fish worth a lick but I love this game!
I got this for my husband and I think I've played it as much as he has!I love it!I am no good at fishing, so I put it on "easiest," and it is so fun!I just do it to catch fish and have a little fun, so "easiest" is a good level of difficulty for me ha ha.When my husband asked for this for his birthday, I thought, "eeewwww.Well if that's what he wants..." and now I monopolize it!It's great fun, even for the non-fisherman/woman. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Updateable to current standards in 2005
Although the out of box product may appear somewhat dated, please note that the Papyrus design team have released a "GPL 2004 demo" as freeware, and this is in effect a complete upgrade to this product, produced with the co-operation of many modders/designers.There are new car graphics, sounds and force-feedback effects.Combine this product with the freeware "demo" and you have a state of the art historic F1 simulation which is still a bear to drive. The out of pocket expense is ridiculously low, given the price of new sims, and I would recommend this (with the upgrade--find it yourself) without reservation. But be warned: this is an uncompromising simulation, and hardly suitable for a casual gamer.

5-0 out of 5 stars Classic is best..!
Thank you..!

Which is precisely why I prefer an old classic road car such as my humble 1500cc, 1971 VW Beetle, as opposed to a modern day all bells ringing, singing and dancing, clinical, spiritless non-DIY friendly modern day high performance vehicle.

Creature comforts aside, you don't have to break the speed limit nor the bank to experience the physical limitations of such cars.

Need I say anymore?

Case rested. For those who don't know now. You'll never know. Your loss is my gain.

Of course if you're of adequate means the above isn't an issue. Simply pay your fee and enjoy your track day etc. :)

Well done Sierra for enlightening the previously unfamiliar..!

5-0 out of 5 stars This simulation is not 6 years old .
I think there is unanimity about the quality of this simulation . I just want to highlight the fact that, as soon as you install it as a 1998 graphically obsolete software, you have just put the foot in the door. In the next hour(s), through free downloads from the web, you will polish it into what I think is still the best road circuit simulation in 2004 : photo quality graphics, hundreds of circuits sometimes better than the originals ( you'll find the old Monza with the oval, Ile of Man TT, Limerock Park, Oulton Park, Le Mans, Laguna Seca ....) . Someone provides force feedback, someone else a Nurburgring tutorial ... it never stops. There are online leagues everywhere from Brazil to Sweden and you get all that stuff, legally, for less than $10 . Come on in !

4-0 out of 5 stars A classic
Fond memories of this one. This game was way ahead of its time.I think it came out around 1997, and plenty of people still play it as of late 2003 from what I hear.It had/has very good graphics, outstanding engine sounds, and an excellent physics model. These '60's Gran Prix F1 cars are very difficult to keep on the track. And rightly so, because like their real world counterparts, they have very skinny tires and no wings for downforce.A must have for racing enthusiasts.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good game
If you dont like rodeo then dont bother. If you like bullriding or if you are a bullrider like me, buy it. Don't listen to these other guys, who's only experience in bullriding is a 5 minute cruise on this game. I loved it and if you even just watch the PBR on TNN every saterday night I think you will like it, but if you hate bullriding, have never even watched it and are extremly close minded, then you are not going to like it.

3-0 out of 5 stars Play the game before you review it, please
Okay, so it's not the most spectacular game concept around. It isdefinitely a "bubba game" catering to the mass market. Hard coregamers mock it.

But, have any of those gamers actually played thisgame?

I have. It's not my type of game, but I can see how it would befun. Check out the screenshots: it's pretty funny watching a bull kick acowboy sky high. The graphics are actually decent. It's not like this issome Wizardworks piece of garbage; it's Sierra, and Sierra makes qualitygames.

So, yes, it's not a sophisticated work of art like Deus Ex orSystem Shock 2. It won't keep you playing for hours and hours like Diablo2. But it's a fun little diversion, it's fun, and it does a great jobsatisfying a niche. Those who are into bull riding and rodeos will reallylike this game.

My question is, are people who are really into rodeos andbull riding also computer owners? Apparently so, because Sierra madeProfessional Bull Rider 2...

1-0 out of 5 stars Oh joy, another bad game....
Have you ever watched water boil? It's a lot funner than this game. You'resupposed to stay on the bull for about 9 seconds, that's a lot longer thanyou should play this game.

1-0 out of 5 stars Fool's Gambit
Alright, this game is the biggest joke in the computer gaming world. Thethought that Sierra could stab the backs of every gamer in an attempt tomake the 'big-audience sell-out' game is sickening and sad. This game hasbeen renounced by EVERY major computer game reporting agency and has beenliterally laughed off the shelves. But hell, if you always wanted to be abull-rider, or even a bull, and you like poorly designed slip-shod games, buy it, quick. Or take your money and give it to the homeless guy down thestreet. His little dance of joy should be 10x's more entertaining than the2.1 seconds of joy you'll get from this game. And that's from the titlescreen... Remember folks a feature is PLAYING AS THE BULL!!!

Amazon.com Review

To put it succinctly, Quake II's first victim is the original Quake. This first-person shooter is more graphically hip and audibly slick than its predecessor; the creators even found it within their furry brains to provide for a more cohesive story line.

But, with all the toothy weapons, power-ups and nasty surprises, it's not always the BFD-equipped grunt that wins the day. Weapons, armor, and power-ups are essential, but sometimes it's the odd or unexpected combination of gear and guns that's going to make the difference. This is also true, significantly, for the death match, where any number of variables now make for a more intense and even multiplayer melee.

Single players have cause for rejoicing as well. A more logical and integrated mission-driven option actually manages to string together a crude story line. It's enough to infuse some genuine chills as the mission progresses deep within the bowels of the blasted-out complex. --Tamara Hladik ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars It,s good,,, but
The only thing that bugs me, is, you can pick a large reel & pole, and pick the heaviest line and you will still lose a half pound fish...

5-0 out of 5 stars Love the game. My daughter plays it too.
I love fishing games and this one is a perfect game for those who love fishing games also. My 11 year old daughter plays it and she loves it too. Whenever I play this game, I feel like I am really fighting a fish. I like to fish for catfish, and my biggest cat is 39.13. It took me a long time to catch it, but it was worth it. If you love to play games and love to fish, this is the game for you.

5-0 out of 5 stars TOTALLY ADICTIVE!!!
This game rockes,I had trophy bass for about a year and was loving it so much that I got trophy bass 4 and after a lit bit got board.I went back and to this day I play farly regularly at least bout 10 times a week if I'm here.(It gets a little old just fishin' by yourself its better to go on the internet and play there's lots of good people on the game server)
P.S. if you get this game and play on the internet look up me Bass Hunter 2001

5-0 out of 5 stars Realistic Fishing

Amazon.com Review

NASCAR fans, start your engines! NASCAR 3, the successor to the extremely popular NASCAR 1999, improves the series with better physics, seriously improved graphics, and more realistic tracks than ever before.

We really like the improvements that have been made to the game's special effects, available for those of us with 3-D accelerator cards. The smoke and dust effects are particularly convincing compared to those of the previous version. Audio is also much improved, and gamers with 3-D audio cards can enjoy some eerily realistic surround sound effects. It's possible to tell where another car is in relation to you simply by listening closely.

Novices can turn down many of the simulation's realism options and basically transform the simulation into an arcade game, but seasoned racers are still free to roll up their sleeves and modify virtually every aspect of their cars. From the amount of duct tape to put on the grille, to infinitesimally small changes in the stagger of the tires, if you can do it in real life you can probably do it in the game.

Races take place on a variety of familiar tracks. Darlington, Talladega, the Milwaukee Mile, Sears Point, Watkins Glen, and 23 other familiar ovals and road courses are rendered in superb detail. The excellent manual outlines the history of each venue and provides tips for car setups so beginners can get started right away. If people have ever told you that NASCAR racing is boring because all you have to do is turn left, put them behind the wheel of NASCAR 3 so they can see firsthand what it's really all about. --T. Byrl Baker

Pros:

  • Believable physics model
  • Crisp 3-D accelerated graphics
  • Convincing 3-D sound effects
  • Many tracks and lots of tweaking options for nearly infinite replayability
Cons:
  • Physics model wasn't completely overhauled as was expected
  • Graphics are clean but not incredibly detailed

3-0 out of 5 stars not good enough
This is a game with tracks too long and graphics which are too boring.

4-0 out of 5 stars Best Nascar game yet
Nascar Racing 3 is a very good simulation of Nascar Racing. Very highly detailed tracks to very real engine sounds. You are able to go into the pit and select right side tires, left sides tires, repair damage, etc. But there is one problem with the AI in the game. The AI is not very realistic. For instance, if I were going around the outside of somebody in a turn they would probably drift up and hit me. Over it is a classic so I recommend you purchase it.

2-0 out of 5 stars Fun for about 1 month
This game reminds me of many toys that looked so fun when I was a kid, but when I got them the fun wore off about as fast as the flavor of chewing gum. At first it's fun to experience the feel of navigating around the Nascar tracks and finding the best racing line.Naturally, once you feel you can handle a car reasonably well, you'll want to race. This is where too many programming flaws render the game unenjoyable. The first main difficulty is that it's extremely difficult to judge, even with 3-D graphics, just how close objects are to your car. This difficulty will make ineffective any effort to find a competitive edge by pushing your car to the limit. You will invariably scrape walls and hit other cars, without improving judgement.Likewise, your pit stall is poorly marked, leaving another guessing game as to when to stop. A second major problem is that incorrect and often conflicting information provided by the crew chief and spotter frequently occur. For example, under yellow flag conditions you are told which car to stay behind, although you may hear two or three car numbers in one lap.Additionally, it is often impossible to find the car you are told to stay behind, even when you completely stop and wait for it.Yet, if you do stop and wait, cars that should stay behind you won't.The kicker is that you will receive a black flag penalty for not finding your correct spot in line. These and other problems add up eventually, and you may find yourself more annoyed then amused.I've now owned the product for about a year, and find no more pleasure in playing it.Adding in the cost of the obligatory 'joystick' wheel, this was an expensive lesson learned.

5-0 out of 5 stars This game brings out the kid in you
This game is designed around realism that the true Nascar fan, and driver are looking for. It's vast amount of options give each skill level a challenge.WARNING:This game is addicting.

Right away, you're going to feel like you're actually on the track. The 3D affects are very good, and the graphics are awesome.Don't consider buying the game though, unless you're going to also purchase a steering wheel, and pedals (sold seperately).

Like any game on the market, there are room for some minor improvements, but don't let that stop you from experiencing the thrill of competing against others on the track. If you feel the need for speed, then this is the game for you. This is definately 5 star fun !

1-0 out of 5 stars big let down
this game is a huge let down.you can't control your car on any of the tracks.Setting up your car is so difficult unless you really know alot about setting a car up. ... Read more

NASCAR Legends returns players to the racing season of 1970 by including many of the legendary cars, drivers, and racetracks from that 48-race season. Aspiring drivers race against such NASCAR icons as Richard Petty, Cale Yarborough, and Bobby Allison. Sixteen accurately rendered tracks are offered; plan to race on the Darlington Raceway, Texas World Speedway, and Alabama International Motor Speedway, among others.

NASCAR Legends was made with hard-core motor purists in mind. Inside each prerace garage, drivers can tweak such car characteristics as tire pressure, suspension, gear ratios, and screw jacks. Gamers looking for an arcade racing game like Need for Speed need not apply; NASCAR Legends's rigorous dedication to statistics offers a complex, yet rewarding gaming experience. For optimum performance, use a Direct3D-based accelerator card to achieve crisp graphics and smooth frame rates, and a steering controller to master the tough turns. --Doug Radcliffe

  • Realistic driving model
  • Faithful reproduction of famous cars and tracks
  • Great force-feedback support

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Game
This game has a lot of wonderfully recreated tracks.Michigan 30 years ago looked a whole lot different and it is displayed in this game. Also the cars handle different and pit stradgey comes into play a lot more.I have won many a races based just off of pit stradgey than fast cars.I think everyone that likes NASCAR should get this game.

4-0 out of 5 stars Follow-up to my earlier review
I've gotten some more seat time with this sim and it continues to impress me.I'm using CH Products Combatstick with CH rudder pedals and there's a switch on the pedals to alternate between using the pedals as rudder controls for flight sims and using them as brake/throttle for driving sims. Now that I'm using them properly, I'm really getting hooked on NASCAR Legends.I've painted my own car, written my own bio, built 2 different set-ups (speedway and short-track), and am getting the hang of manual shifting, but I still have to reduce the AI strength to 90% and the race lengths to 25% or 30% just to make it to the end.On my Dell 1.3 Ghz Pentium 4 machine, the graphics absolutely fly, which shouldn't be surprising as anyone with a Pentium 200Mhz 64 Mb RAM PC (or more) should have no problem running the sim well.Just remember to install the patch - during installation the exec will prompt you to go to the website - to take advantage of this sim at its best.If NASCAR 3 runs well on your computer, Legends will run well, too.

Tracks: AlabamaMotor Speedway (now Talladega), Atlanta Int'l Raceway, Bowman Gray Stadium, Bristol Intern'l Speedway, Charlotte (now Lowe's) Motor Speedway, Darlington Raceway, Greenville-Pickens Speedway, Martinsville Speedway, Michigan Speedway, N.C.-Rockingham Speedway, North Wilkesboro Speedway, Ontario Motor Speedway, Richmond Fairgrounds, Riverside International (no longer in existence), Texas World Speedway, and Thompson Speedway.Overall, a good mix of superspeedways and short-tracks with one road course.

4-0 out of 5 stars A good, fun middle-of-the-road racing sim
I was 7 years old when Richard Petty raced at Daytona, but I remember looking through all of my parent's old vacation pictures of their time at the tracks. All of the cars I remember from those races are in this sim: the Dodge Daytona, Ford Torino, Plymouth Superbird, and even the rare Mercury Cyclone are there, complete with 70's vintage sponsor signs in the outfield. This sim recreates a few tracks which no longer exist, which is kind of neat for long-time racing fans who remember them.Graphics are good enough and are fast on today's Pentium 3 and 4 machines, which allows you to see a lot more cars without the slideshow effects of the newer NASCAR sims. You get to adjust your suspension, steering, fuel load, and tire pressure and you can create your own custom paint job.I have a joystick and set of rudder pedals, but I haven't figured out (yet) how to get the game to recognize my flight pedals as brake/gas.I don't do much racing on computer and I only started following NASCAR this year, but this game is a hoot to play.Slider bars permit the computer-controlled cars to be adjusted in skill, the player-controlled car can be made to drive more realistically, and the tire pressure, suspension, caster and camber, and fuel load can all be adjusted to affect how the player's car drives, too.I haven't had a chance to play with the paint shop to change the color of my car, but that should be a lot of fun, too.The only thing lacking is better damage effects and better support for my flight rudder pedals, but that may just be a matter of my reading the player manual.

2-0 out of 5 stars Legendary Gaming, That is what this game is!
I recently bought this item for 10 bucks of a person I know.I thought he was crazy giving me a 50 dollar game for 10 bucks, but I just thought hewas desperate.I was dead wrong. I was so excited to install and play it.That is where I found the first of many problems with the game.Icorrectly installed NASCAR LEGENDS, but it would not run.I installed it 3or 4 times trying to get it to work and I opened the game every wayimaginable, but It still ceased to open.It turned out that I had to goonline and download the patch for the game just to get it to work. Then, when it finnally did work, I was very disapointed in it.The game hasdrivers, their cars, and the tracks from 1970, which was all very accurate. But it had HORRIBLE graphics. It had the EXACT same graphics as NASCARRACING 2, which was a couple years old, not to mention that the setup andeverything else in the game was exactly the same. All I think they did wastook NASCAR 2, and slapped some older cars, older drivers, and some oldertracks in the game.I was not very happy. The game is definatly NOT worth50 bucks, not by a long shot. And you are probably thinking that I didntlike the game because I am not a hardcore nascar fan, but that is wrong.I'm as hardcore as they get, so it isnt me.The game really should've beena 15 dollar expansion pack for Nascar 2. And to add on top of that, theonly controller of mine the game would use was the keyboard. I dont knowabout you, but I dont spend big bucks on nice steering wheels, joysticks, and gamepads. In conclusion, do not buy this game that should have beenreleased 5 years ago. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars PBR rocks and so does this game!!!
I love the pbr, so what better way to have the pbr every day than a game. This game is NOT for people who who don't like or don't know anything about the pbr. You need to understand the concept of it before you play the game. The graphics are great and it is cool how you can be the cowboy or the bull. Anyone who says that this game stinks is out of their mind and probably can't appreciate the awesomeness that is the PBR!!!!

4-0 out of 5 stars A good game that could have been a lot better
Sierra Sports Professional Bullrider 2 is a good simulation of bullriding that still has a lot of room for improvement.Let me say right here that you have to be a rodeo fan to appreciate this game.If you don't understand bullriding, then don't even bother with this game.Gameplay is one of the strongpoints of this game. When controlling the cowboy, you use the joystick to control his body position in relation to the bull. The joystick, in a sense, becomes your body.On the harder levels you need to react quickly to the bull's movements or you will find yourself eating dirt with the bull's horns in your back. Just like in real bullriding. You can also control the bull, which I never really enjoyed. There is a season mode for both cowboys and bulls where you compete at all of the major PBR stops while trying to win the championship. The rules and the way the events run are all the same as the way the PBR does it. There is a special mode for bullfighting which is a fun diversion when you start to get bored with the regular game.

The graphics are ok, but I really think they could have done a much better job in this area. The cowboy animations are pretty good and the bull animations look good from behind. But when you see the bull from the side it looks stiff and unnatural.Thecowboys are all the same height in the game and there is only one face for all the cowboys with different facial hair added. There are a good number of real bulls in the game and a lot of bulls created by Sierra.I would like to see any future versions have all real bulls. There are lots of little things like that that they could have done to the game to make it feel more realistic. If Sierra is going to pursue this market, the least they can do is add all the little perks that they do for the other sports games.

Sierra has made good bullriding game in Professional Bullrider 2.It remains to be seen if they can make a great bullriding game.

5-0 out of 5 stars If you're a cowboy you gotta have this one!
As a mother of a want-to-be bull rider, I must say this game is action packed full of entertainment. For my son,Tyler, Michigan's 4 time State Champion Dummy Roper, this is a must have game. We bought it once and lost the disk. Now, I'm looking fratically to replace it. But I must admitt, you do have to know the ins and outs of rodeo to appreciate this game. It helps to know the different bulls listed and the riders. My son was named after Ty Murray and enjoys playing as him. This is a great game and worth every penny. Cowboy up and enjoy!! Hats off to you Sierra Sports on a job well done.

3-0 out of 5 stars This Game is an OK game
I read the reviews and someone said that it takes 2 seconds instead of 8.You need a faster computer for this game to work right.I thinkthis game is fun but it does get kind of boring once you play it all day for a whole week.I think playing the cowboy is the hardest.Playing the bull is easy and fun.

4-0 out of 5 stars OK Game
This game was NOT all I expected. Yes, it is very cool you can make your own cowboys and bull, but that is the most exciting part. When you rid the bull it is supposed to take eight seconds, but on the game it takes about 2. Still this game is WAY better than the first. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars rather disapointing
This collection would be fun if all the games could be played head to head online, but they can't.The pool game is fun but you are much better off buying Sierra's Maximum Pool instead.

3-0 out of 5 stars Cool game but not awesome!
This is a cool fun game. I like the amusement park pinball game the best. It's the easiest and most fun to play. Real fast mouse and button play is needed for this game. I didnt like the fact you couldnt use a game pad with it. The pool and the pinball game included with this game are not the full versions of the game. To get the full versions of these two games you will have to purchase the two separately. The music is cool but not alot of variety. The graphics in this game are awesome! I wish it had bowling in it. Oh well we can always hope for improvements in the next version. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars A great 4-star game
The reason I rated Viper racing 4 stars instead of 5 is because (You'll see if you're the plane) you can drive of the edge of the
earth. Realistic huh? NOT! I also found out that you can do flips. Other than that, Viper racing is a pretty good game. The graphics and sound are REALLY GOOD. Track detail is average.
This is a good game for intermiediate and advanced users.

P.S. In the garage, if you turn (in chassis) Bump to 0-0, rebound to 0-0, springs to 100-100, Anti-lock braking to 47-47 and (in align) height to 20.0-20.0...FEEL THE EFFECT!

5-0 out of 5 stars Viper Racing 2002
I for one have really enjoyed VR for about 4 years now, the graphics were great back when the game came out and now there even better with all the great car and track addons. we have brought the game a long ways in the past years. the sound of the game was and still is the best i have heard for a pc game no music.. dont need it anyway :) i'd rather listen to the hp of an engine and tires burning rubber around the coners. game play, try racing games like gt3 for ps2 online.. not gona happen. hook up with some friends and get in a 8 player multiplayer game going and hang on to your hats! this game its way worth 10 bucks at any retail store that you can find it at. and now with high res textures it may even get to the point of beating the graphics of gt3.. hmmm =)

5-0 out of 5 stars Great game
This game is great. It takes racing reality to a new level, for such an old game. I still think that nfs's new releases only equal viper racing, and the capability to create your own cars for the game gives it a whole new perspective. The paintshop and custom made skins on the web are an added bonus. If there's one racing game to go for, its viper racing.
-edit- Be sure to look for my addon Mach 1 Mustang, with realistic wheelbase dimensions, Mustang sounds, drag tires, and custom rims!

2-0 out of 5 stars Good for its day, but not anymore
I'm sure this racing sim had a pretty good audience back when it was introduced, but the years have not been as kind to it as it has to other racing sims, such as NASCAR Legends which still has a good audience."Viper Racing" has nothing but fictitious tracks that look more or less like futuristic arenas from an arcade game, which wouldn't be so bad if there were more tracks to choose from.On the upside, you get to customize your car.On the downside, all of the cars are the same unless you adjust the suspension and such. You're better off with one of the "Need For Speed" games or a copy of "NASCAR Legends".If Sierra Sports had used the real GT racing season as a model for this racing sim, it would've been more enjoyable.

5-0 out of 5 stars The most realistic race-simulation ever.
Who cares about Gran Turismo? Ok, it has a lot of cars, but you can drive to the wall at 300km/h and bounce off smiling. Viper racing is totally different. It is very smooth to drive and it also takes damage when you hit something. Dodge Viper is also the most beautiful car in the world.

Viper racing is an old game already but still worth the ~15$ it costs right now. I?ve had it for years and I still play it. ... Read more

Amazon.com Review

Sure, there are more modern NASCAR games out there. But if your computerisn't the latest and greatest machine on the block NASCAR Racing 99 mightdeliver smoother racing satisfaction. This older title is crammed with enoughfeatures to keep fans of the sport satisfied for months, and it features anaccurate enough physics model to be believable. NASCAR 99 simulatesindividual races or the entire NASCAR Cup, NASCAR Grand National, or NASCARCraftsman truck events.

The real challenge of this simulation is tweaking your car or truck so it runsperfectly on all of the 35 tracks simulated in the game. The modificationsplayers can make are extensive, and the results of a good (or bad) tweakingsession are immediately apparent after a few practice laps.

The graphics for the cars, trucks, and tracks are cleanly drawn, but the specialeffects suffer. Smoke is especially bad, consisting of several flat, 2-D gray"puffs" strung together in a row. The good news is that the lack of detail inthe graphics means the game will run smoothly on just about any modern computersystem. And you'll need all the speed your computer can deliver frames, sincethis game is all about precision. One wrong move in the middle of a full fieldof cars and you can forget about finishing the lap, let alone the race, thanksto NASCAR 99's extensive damage model. --T. Byrl Baker

Pros:

  • Clean, colorful track, car, and truck graphics
  • Decent physics model
  • Lets players participate in several NASCAR series and events
Cons:
  • Bad special-effects graphics
  • Setting up your car perfectly takes a lot of practice and patience

1-0 out of 5 stars poor racing
I LIKE MANY WAS SOLD BY THE COVER AND VIDEO CLIPS AS SHOWN ON THE BACK,BEWARE THAT THE GAME GRAPHICS ARE SIMILIAR TO THE VERY FIRST NINTENDO PUT OUT AND SO FAR I SEE NO OPTION TO SELECT THE CAR OF MY CHOICE-ONLY THE COMPUTER GENERATED CAR WHICH IS UNCONTROLABLE TILL YOU FINE TUNE IT.THE OTHER CARS ON THE TRACK PASS THRU EACH OTHER MAKING RACING A JOKE,PLUS THEY DON'T EVEN START THE RACE LIKE TRUE NASCAR--IT STARTS FROM A DEAD STOP AND THE PC CARS MAGICALLY SHOOT OUT 1/4 A LAP AHEAD RIGHT OFF THE START.THIS IS THE WORST NASCAR GAME I HAVE EVER PLAYED UNLESS YOUR A CREW CHIEF FOR A STOCK CAR RACE TEAM THE SET UP IS A TOTAL NIGHTMARE,WAY TOO IN DEPTH FOR THE AVERAGE GAMER WHO JUST WANTS TO RACE-NOT SPEND A DAY SETTING UP FOR ONE TRACK.IF YOU WANT A REAL KICKIN' GAME BUY NASCAR REVOLUTION SE,FOUND IN THE BLUE TOP TEN GAME COMBO.THIS GAME SETS THE CARS UP FOR YOU,THE GRAPHICS ARE TRULY PHENOMENAL AND FAR BETTER THAN PS2 OR X-BOX GAMES.THE CARS HANDLE MUCH BETTER AND DO NOT PASS THRU EACH OTHER,AND DO WRECK EACH OTHER AT TIMES.THE FUN FACTOR GOES THRU THE ROOF ON REVOLUTION SE,I'VE PLAYED IT SO MUCH I'VE GOTTEN BLISTERS ON MY THUMBS BUT IT'S THAT GOOD!!!!!A MUST FOR THE TRUE NASCAR PC GAMER---FOR THE BEST NASCAR GAME I'VE SEEN OUT YET--HAPPY RACING!!!

3-0 out of 5 stars This game is the best one I've played
I know I gave the game three stars but I love this game. The car customization is far better than Nascar 1. I liked the fact that now there is Dale Earnhardt, Darrell Waltrip, and Dale Jarrett, which wasn't in Nascar 1. I don't see why Daytona International Speedway and Indianapolis Motor Speedway wouldn't let Papyrus put in the game, I mean Papyrus create Indy as an expansion for Indycar Racing. I will end this review by saying why I gave it three stars, the game is old and doesn't really measure up to Nascar 3, or even Grand Prix Legends (I have that one). If you can't afford anything better, get NASCAR 2.

4-0 out of 5 stars I like this.
I don't know about All-American, but I have Nascar Racing 2 and it's great. Still, there should be a special "in honor of" version of Nascar '01 because Dale Earndhart has died. N2 is a good game, but it gives you too many options like you can be invincible, and things like that.

5-0 out of 5 stars Championship Golf2000
Fantastic game, computer graphics outstanding. True swing, I've found" THE BEST" Closest to the real thing.I can't get enough. Just ask my wife!! I'm happy to report I shot a 13 under on your Coeur d' Alene Resort Golf CourseSierra keep up the good work!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars One of the best on the market
If your looking for a realistic golf game, this is my favorate and most likely will become one of yours. Sure there are some bugs but Sierra has patches that fixed the initial problems I had(one of the reasons I love Serria games). The ability to make your own courses is both fun and challening. The ability to compete in single payler seasons is great fun for single palers. The graphics are great and play is smooth.

3-0 out of 5 stars PGA 2000 could be a great game - except
I looked forward to the release of this game. However, for those of us that don't want to discontinue the tri-click method of play, the game has slipped the other direction. The tri-click power bar surges - it is not a smooth movement like the past game, making it impossible to control. This takes much of the fun out of playing and under par scores are almost unable to obtain for the higher skilled players (under very good consitions I have scored as low as 58 on one course in the past version). The program crashes sometimes for no reason. The announcer says things that don't make sense more than in the past version. The ball sometimes disappears for no reason - in comparing ball lies on greens during the scramble play mode. Shadows of players and flags change color to purple sometimes - I turned off that function.

Could be the best game out there if the bugs are removed and if the manufacturer releases more sites to play - not just those from wonswap - these often crash during the download process.

If you want to use mouse movement for your swing - this is probably the way to go.

5-0 out of 5 stars a great game
Please understand that this is my first golf game, so my comments should be understood in that context.I never thought I could have so much fun with a golf game.It took me over two years to convince myself to try one and I don't regret it at all.The mouse swing is fabulous.Instead of having to click on a meter of sorts to guage your shot, you just move the mouse to strike the ball, and it is a very intuitive thing. You pull back on the mouse to begin the swing and then move it forward to strike the ball.On screen the golfer holds the club and follows the mouse movement. You dont have to click the mouse during the swing. The faster you move the mouse, the longer the shot and vice-versa.You have to take into account the wind velocity and direction, and try not to slice or hook it.Very nicely done.

The only annoyance I have is that the game will sometimes crash for no apparent reason.A message will appear stating that the program has performed an illegal operation and will shut down, and the next thing you know you're looking at the desk top.Every time this has happened, I have gone back to the game and I will see a message which states the game was abnormally shut down, and asks if I would like to resume play.I click "yes" and I pick up exactly where I left off.The scores are intact, the hole the same etc.

All in all, this is a very enjoyable game.

3-0 out of 5 stars Great multiplayer. OK single player.
I'll begin by saying that the multiplayer features are very entertaining.Being able to customize your player's appearance, taunt other players, andwatch players dance around during play is hilarious.

However, the singleplayer game is not as developed as some other golf games I have played. Ifyou try to hit the ball when a player's animation sequence starts, nothinghappens until the animation is complete and then the swing startsunexpectedly. Some of the announcer's comments don't make any sense. Ofcourse, you can turn the comments off. Also, the program crashes in themiddle of a game occasionally. Although a crashed game can be recovered, sometimes the program continues to crash on the recovered game. There areother frustrating areas, but all games have their quirks.

Overall, thisgame is great for multiplayer but, if you're looking for something to playby yourself, you should definately shop around first. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars r/cacing just like the real thing
Being a veteran r/c racer I came across the demo and played it. The way the cars sound and act on the track is the best simulation of r/c racing I have ever seen and, the best part is that its made by traxxas. Traxxas is one of the top dogs in the r/c racing scene. In fact my first pure bred top of the line race truck was a Traxxas blue eagle. 5-0 out of 5 stars Great Game
PGA Championship Golf is a great game. It has wonderful graphics and many courses. Many other golf games only have two or three courses, but PGA has about 8 (not exactly sure). This makes the game countinue to beinteresting, even after months. It works good on slow computers, the redrawtime on a P166 is 2 seconds; pretty quick. You can create players, anddetail them down to their shoe color and style. There is an included set of"Tour Players" you can play a tournament with, which is nice forsome competition. The biggest plus is the course designer. It comesincluded, and is very easy to use. It is very user friendly, and alsodetailed. You can even put sounds onto your course, and the radius in whichthe players will hear it. PGA is a great, fun golf game. It is beautiful ina graphics standpoint, and fun to play. It may be the best golf game on themarket, even better than Links LS 2000. Enjoy this wonderful game!:)

5-0 out of 5 stars Great golf game
I have been playing Links for years, and tried this title mostly for the course designer. To my surprise, the game is loads of fun. It has more of a 3D feel than links as far as the graphics go.The course designer isreally cool. It takes a lot of time, but there is nothing like playing yourlocal courses on the computer in the middle of winter whenthere is snowon the ground. My only complaint is aiming your shot is a little moredifficult than Links.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Golf Sim
This is a very good golf simulation. The graphics are great, even on a PC without 3d cards. You have different options for play, Tri-Click or Trueswing. The Trueswing has 2 options, horizontal or vertical (Verticalyou pull back and move forward the mouse while horizontal you move left toright) Tri-Click is a bar that move up and down (Power bar) and you clickwhere it reaches your desired power. I prefer trueswing because i think itsmore realistic. The are 7 courses with game but you can download new onesfrom the internet. Also a course architect which lets you make your owncourse. There are 3 types of play, recreation, practice and tournaments. Intournaments you can play individually or in team play. I could go on moreabout the features and there are alot more but this is just a great gameand anyone, golf player or not should have this in their game collection. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Stunning
Trophy Hunting is by far the most involving game, of this type, on the market!I couldn't believe how pretty everything was... I mean, we're talking about a hunting game, right? Wow!The worlds are HUGE and thevaried animal species makes for a lot of exciting exploration.I don'teven need to find any wild life sometimes.I just enjoy walking throughthese 'real' locations and marvel at the fog and rain and other forms ofenvironmental tie-ins.When I did finally locate an elk, I was shocked tofind that I was out of breath and that I was being quiet (in front of mycomputer) so I wouldn't scare the animal away.Silly, huh?Well, that'swhat I would have thought too had I not played this goofy game.I amimpressed. With a hunting game.Try it and see; you'll know what what I'mtalking about when you get it.This is definately a keeper:)(...and I'mnot even a hunter, I'm a school teacher)
