Amazon.com Review Command and Conquer: Tiberian Sun is a simple combat simulator that allows the player to gather resources, turn them into soldiers, and unleash them against the foe. The game runs in real time, so events can turn against you quickly, but if one is cautious and observant, the battles are not too hard to win. Though their missions are different, the two sides are essentially interchangeable, with identical military discipline and similar battle units. Though the Brotherhood of Nod has fascist trappings and is obviously the villain, there is no significant difference in playing one side or the other. The game also lacks female battle units, though it features a few women in interstitial sequences. Despite these weaknesses, Command and Conquer: Tiberian Sun is thoroughly entertaining and will satisfy anyone who enjoys building an army from the ground up and testing it on the battlefield. --Alyx Dellamonica Reviews (133)

Amazon.com Review Racers can use the keyboard, a joystick, or the mouse to control theremote-control car they chose. The keyboard option is extremely squirrelly, mousing iseasier, and, well, there's a reason joysticks are called what they are. Playerscan race the computer, go solo around the tracks, race another player, or get ona circuit and race for "money" that they can use to buy upgrades for theirvehicles. For the truly helpless, there's a controlled steering option thatdrives the car around the track automatically as the player supplies theacceleration. Players also have the option of enabling or disabling power-ups onthe tracks--pick these up and your car can inflict bottle rockets, oil slicks, electrical arcs, and more on opponents. There are also a couple of nonracinggames: a soccer game with cars as players, and battle ball, a game in whichplayers use their cars to hit balls into a pit. This Windows-only game's strongest points are the 16 tracks that range fromsimple to insane, and the way players can manipulate the program to suit andsatisfy a wide range of racing skills. Racing-impaired testers had fun avoidingdemented lawn dwarfs in Backyard, and dodging wayward amphibians that hop out ofFrog Pond. Meanwhile, tracks like Haunted and Aztec challenged the truegearheads. Just watch out for that nasty chicken on Hillbilly Hill. --AnneErickson Reviews (4)
As a huge positive, I truely enjoy being able to play with two people atthe same time on the same computer. However it would be nice to have thechoice of playing on the same screen, rather than only using the splitscreen (though I understand the necessity when the two racers are atdifferent parts of the course). The eight tracks are enjoyable anddifferent...can be a lot of fun, though when the dog jumps out to eat myson's car he gets a little scared. My biggest complaint is the problem'sI have when using my joystick to play, it is so screwy that I usually justuse the keyboard to steer. Overall I give the game a 4, it is a lot offun, though the serious gamer might get bored with it after a while.Ilove the extra features you can pick up like firecrackers and rockets toshoot at the other cars.

Isn't compatible with XP much and some downsides of the game, as with many, is the A.I. setting and not enough levels. The game is also considered for intermediate to pro first-person shooting pc gamers and will take much practice and patience, not to mention heart and a fast trigger finger to beat. I would definetly recommend this game for 15 year olds and up even though its M rated. Try to play this game without a guide or cheat codes and use your head instead. Its worth it more when you actually win. Good luck and happy shopping and I hope this guide will help. ... Read more

1) When building roads make the area within them 6x6. Sims like to be three spaces or less away from roads on all sides of them. 2) When zoning put industrial at least three spaces away from residencial. Hey, would you like living nextdoor to a noisy, smelly, smokey factory? Well I sure wouldn't!! 3) If you don't want disasters to happen to your city, simply click on the "Disasters" bar at the top of the screen and select "No Disasters." 4) Finally, if you want to know the ultimate code then hear this: All you have to do is type in the letters: imacheat
--It is $5 cheaper. --It saves your hard drive (20 mbs compared to 200mbs) --The graphics card requirements are less (less than 2mbs compared to a minimum of 2 megabytes for SC 3000) --It is FASTER (it runs faster in benchmark tests compared to SC 3000 because SC 3000 is graphic intensive) --Doesn't require DirectX 6.0 like SC 3000 therefore, it requires less disk space --It is better than SC 3000 because it does highways better and it is less intensive, also you can switch between applications for when your boss is behind you. It also has scenarios, and you can select NO DISASTERS. It also has better cheat codes and the SIMCITY URBAN RENEWAL KIT (SCURK) which allows you to build the city to your liking , and then you can run it in SC 2000. It is also more stable, in SC 2000 you can build longer bridges and power lines, and you can build connections to other cities cheaper. In SC 3000, if you build an onramp by the border, it will crash the program. Overall, it is a better deal for people with slower computers (1998 and earlier), but if you have a powerful computer (1999, 2000, 2001) SC 3000 is a better deal. Harrison Fuchs

Amazon.com Review The running commentary is funny at first but wears after a while--but that's what volume controls are for. You'll find yourself returning time and again to tranquilize humans into the Stone Age, avenging not just your white-tailed love but also every moose, pheasant, and wild turkey cut down in the prime of life. Game controls are simple, and the animation is good but not outstanding. Game play is fun and moderately challenging once you get used to the system humor. The violence may not be appropriate for small children, but teens and teens-at-heart will love Deer Avenger 2.--Rob Lightner Reviews (7)

Amazon.com Review What makes Opposing Force shine is the way it expands on the story of Half-Life. Colonel Shephard passes though areas that players of Half-Life are sure to recognize, and he occasionally runs into characters from the original game, including the infuriating Man in Suit. Opposing Force also introduces several new weapons, such as a sniper rifle (with scope), heavy machine gun, and a .357 Magnum with a laser sight. There's even a "weapon" that is actually a common alien creature from the first game; its unique features allow it to be used as a kind of grappling hook. Several new aliens make an appearance as well, almost all of them deadly. They exhibit the same sophisticated AI (artificial intelligence) as the monsters in Half-Life, relentlessly and intelligently attacking Adrian as he makes his way through the game's impressive levels. Fortunately, Colonel Shephard's rank allows him to take command of any soldiers he encounters. Riflemen and machine gunners can be ordered to follow Adrian and provide covering fire, or assigned to guard a door or room. Engineers can cut through locked or blocked doorways, while Medics can heal the injured. Unlike Half-Life's solitary "me against the world" game play, the addition of competent friendly forces provides a feeling of camaraderie: there's nothing like leading a squad of loyal Marines against an alien horde. --Mike Fehlauer Reviews (69)

The environment in "Deer 3D" is a excellent evolution from the first person side-scrolling in "Deer and Deer 2".Not knowing how much previous experience that S&S has with "true" 3D environments ("Bass" is really 2D with a third person perspective) this feels like a good start with somewhat usable terrain features. With a few small beefs.Either I haven't figured it out yet, or you can't climb the trees. An obvious hunters perch. Also do the trees factor into how hard it is for the hunter to hit you?If not they should, cover and concealment after all.And one observation. Is it just me, or are there no negative elevation values on the ground? There seems to be a definite level ground or zero point and it stays at zero or goes up from there, with the very obvious hills. But nothing going down. The weapon collection is interesting, with one suggestion.Unless I haven't pulled it off yet, there's no "one shot kills."Any of the weapons have the very real potential to do it "quick n clean" but not in the game. This may be an obvious choice by S&S to increase the difficulty, or keep it a lighthearted fun game. But the possibility of it, controlled or random, would be nice. As with "Bass" (see my review) this is not for the serious player of RPGs or RTSGs, looking to tax their new computer or graphics card. But for those of us loyalists that were hooked by the first "Avenger" it's GREAT.The only reasons that I'm not giving it five stars I've mentioned above. With the way they're advancing, if S&S takes this concept any further. There is a possibility that the next one can compete directly with the current flock of "serious" 1st person 3D shooters.
There are several weapons to be used as you progress in the game, both attacking ones and attracting ones (pizza, beer, etc.)There are also 'attractive' sounds used to lure the unsuspecting hunter. I found the graphics in this game to be a bit behind the technology although the sound is appropriate for the scenario. Playing the game only stays interesting for the first few hunts as a typical gamer will find that this game is too easy and offeres very few twists and turns. Installation was quick and without glitches. So buy it as a fun gift, but don't think that it will keep the recipient busy for any lenght of time. ... Read more

Amazon.com Review In keeping with StarCraft's groundbreaking design, this expansion pack--which requires the original game--presents you with three sides of a galactic conflict. Scheming Humans, insidious Zerg, and proud Protoss collide again, with stunning new cinematics setting the stage. Old friends and foes and ominous new arrivals give the story a breakneck pace, while a handful of additions to each race's arsenal makes for tense battles. Some missions require a bit of finesse, breaking the resource-gathering routine while making good use of the new units. Humans now have Valkyrie missile frigates, as well as Medics that automatically try to heal your grunts. New for the Zerg air force is the acid-spewing Devourer; the new Lurker unit provides heavy-duty (under) ground support. Along with the Corsair fighter, the Protoss re-enter the fray with Dark Templar, which can merge to form the devastating Dark Archon. Unfortunately, units old and new still suffer from some weak pathfinding. Brood War also features stellar new environments and ambient art, as well as more than 100 additional multiplayer maps. Real-time strategy games don't get any more epic or any more satisfying. --Jack Gardiner Pros: Reviews (15)
Graphics: 5/5 It looks like an upgrade, but it's not! Overall: 5/5 Buy this, it's worth it
Now this second paragraph is about game play.Starcraft with its expansion pack is a one of a kind. The game loads fast, the controls are straight forward and are simple to use, the graphics are great, with it's dark textures and detailed landscape it has better graphics than all other strategy games for it's time.Even some of the newer games from Westwood Studios do not come near to the graphics of this game. This game has great missions, and the first few for each race also act as a tutorial for new players. Also in between every few mission they have a cinematic movie, which you can watch or skip if you want. The mission-briefing screen depends on which race you are, for the setting is different and the characters (speaking animated portraits) that tell you your mission are different. This game has pretty good music and when you click on a unit they always reply back with some sort of response. Now this third and last paragraph will talk about the best part of the game, multiplayer mode.Battle.Net, which is Blizzards official online multiplayer battle network where you can play against hundreds of thousands of other players who are online, is a great system. You can play MANY different types of maps with up to eight people in one game. There are different types of maps, some are 'User Map Settings, Melee, Team melee, Capture the Flag, etc.'There are more types but I will just continue. When you install the game it also comes with a map editor. This map editor allows you to customize maps, and even create your own maps. You can change the name and stats of units, change the mission briefings, create triggers and timers and scoreboards and teams and change the terrain plus more. You create an almost actual RPG like game or any other type of game if you put hard work into it.I usually play user map setting maps that are the maps created by other players because they are more fun than the regular melee. This game is the only current strategy game to enable you to completely change and upload your own maps to the server for others to play.I myself have created a map called "God vs. Satan" which is a VERY popular map right now and others have made probably over 10 other upgrades to the map which is probably more than any other map.I play online all the time under the nickname punwod and you can message me or anyone on Battle.Net by typing "/w NICKNAME".I hope you enjoy this game and this review!=)

What makes_Jack_ such a fun experience is not merely that it provides a moderatedgame show environment akin to what one can find on televised game showslike _Jeopardy!_.Rather, it is that it takes the standard TV game showsand turns them on their ears. This is a game show that makes fun of itsown genre--and the American culture which spawned it.In the process, itmanages to be a truly novel offering.Instead of having a standardquestion-and-answer format, the _Jack_ series thrives on throwing you curveballs.Just when you get confident with answering multiple choicequestions, _Jack_ has you actually type the answer (and spelling counts). Or you get a JackAttack (tm) question or a Threesome question, or any oneof the other question styles. In short, _Jack_ wins through because itis the first game show to be originally designed for and to take advantageof the multimedia potential of home computers. In an age of merchandisingtie-ins from TV and movies, it's refreshing to see publishers attemptsomething unique to the medium--and succeed so fabulously well doing so. ... Read more

Amazon.com Product Description The original Deer Avenger lets you turn the tables on the hunters. Use powerful deer farts and mating calls, and then blast them with deer pellets, an M-16, or a bazooka. In Deer Avenger 2: Deer in the City, you'll head into lovely Armpit Estates and tranquilize everyone in the entire neighborhood, even the vulgar housewife, as you track down the suburban soldier of misfortune that ran over your gal. Show up at the Swamp Ass Grill and unleash your fury on its boozy, bleary-eyed humanity. Check out the '70s disco freak as you hunt down the good ol' boy who laughed at your anguish when he permanently tattooed your babe on the front fender of his SUV. Don't worry if you're a bad shot. You can also fart at your victims and knock them out cold. Deer Avenger 3D is the first 3-D version of the parody series in which the hunted becomes the hunter. Players again assume the role of Bambo, whose romantic desires must be put on hold until all the forest animals are safe from hunters. There are four locations in which to hunt, and your prey has different levels of skills and abilities. Bambo's arsenal includes shotguns, rifles, automatic weapons, and atomic-powered particle farts. You will have access to lures such as beef jerky and fart-inducing snacks, plus nature lovers and other bystanders will help you clear the forest of hunters. Reviews (4)
